Abstract

Agricultural extension is perceived only to achieve production targets and technology transfer. The limited number of extension workers further adds to the ongoing problem of agricultural extension. The government has begun to seek to increase the workforce of extension workers by involving independent and private extension workers. The Brenjonk community is an example of an organic farmer group that was built by self-help extension workers. The limited funds and the independent extension workers involved are the main obstacles in the extension process. This study will analyze the role of self-help extension workers as well as efforts to increase changes in the behavior of housewives. The method used is descriptive qualitative and Spearman rank correlation analysis. The results of this study indicate that self-help extension workers have performed their roles as facilitators, mediators, dynamists, and mediators. Housewives have been able to apply organic vegetable cultivation on their land because it has become a habit. The recommended extension model to improve the behavior of housewives is to involve them in discussion activities with extension workers, increase the number of stakeholders involved in counseling, increase the use of local resources, and increase the assistance of housewives

The results of the descriptive statistical analysis on the learning outcomes of Social Sciences with the Problem Based Learning Learning Model show better results than before using the Problem Based Learning Learning Model. The results of inferential statistical analysis using the t-test formula, it is known that the tcount obtained is 12.75 with a frequency of dk = 24-1 = 23. At the 5% significance level, the ttable value = 1.71. So, tcount > ttable or 12.75 > 1.71. This proves that the application of Problem Based Learning learning model in Social Science learning has an influence so that it can be said to be effective than before the use of Problem Based Learning Learning Model.   Keywords: the effectiveness of problem based learning model, social science learning outcomes.

Abstract

ABSTRACK The educational process always produces a goal such as learning achievement and not all students can get good learning achievement because there are still many students who do not dare to be active in a learning activity because the character of self-discipline is still lacking. Therefore it is necessary to have a stimulus from a teacher or stimulation from the teacher so that students can be more active in the learning process and also students can be more disciplined in making a decision whether learning is successful or not depending on how the teacher carries out good learning activities. This study uses descriptive qualitative data collection using interviews. The type of research using field research (Field Research) with analysis of data reduction, display and verification. The use of rewards is proven to increase student discipline because students tend to repeat positive actions to get rewards. Likewise, the punishmant is very effective in training student discipline so that it does not repeat itself. This requires the creativity of a teacher to create a pleasant learning atmosphere, including the use of reward which is one of the drivers, encouragement and motivation for students in increasing student discipline.  Keyword : Character; Reward And Punishmant; Learners
