Abstract

Hemoglobin (Hb) is a protein found in erythrocytes which acts as a marker of anemia. Anemia is a health problem in all over the world, especially in developing countries, it is estimated that 30% of the world's population suffer from anemia. One of the causes is bleeding, which is a condition of losing large amounts of blood. Surgery is an action by medical professionals performed to save a patient's life. However, during the operation there is also a risk of bleeding which can affect hemoglobin levels. This study aims to determine the description of hemoglobin (Hb) levels in pre and postoperative patients. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with purposive sampling technique of sampling of 33 respondents divided based on pre-operation and post-operation. The results of the examination found that all preoperative respondents had moderate anemia with a percentage of 12.1%, (4 respondents), mild anemia with a percentage of 21.2% (7 respondents), very mild anemia with a percentage of 9.1% (3 respondents), with normal hemoglobin levels, namely 69.7% (23 respondents). and for postoperative respondents who had mild anemia with a percentage of 15.2%, (5 respondents), very mild anemia with a percentage of 21.2%, (7 respondents) with normal hemoglobin levels of 51.5% (17 respondents). The need for this research to be further developed regarding the description of pre and postoperative hemoglobin levels by using the characteristics of respondents based on age.

Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is an inflammatory response of the urothelial cells lining the urinary tract due to bacterial invasion and is characterized by bacteria, uria and leukosituria. Urinary tract infections that occur in women and men. The aim of the previous study was to determine the description of the results of erythrocyte examination in the urine sediment of patients with urinary tract infections. Macroscopic Urine What is examined is the volume, color, clarity, specific gravity, odor and pH of urine. Measurement of urine volume is useful for interpreting the results of a quantitative or semi-quantitative examination of a substance in urine and for determining abnormalities in the balance of body fluids. The background of the above problems encourages researchers to find out more about the description of Urine Sediment in Patients with Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) at Prof. Dr. Aloei Saboe. Based on the results of the above study, 15 patients with Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) had morning urine samples taken and urine sediment examinations were carried out in the hospital laboratory. Prof. Dr. H. Aloei Saboe. The results of the urine sediment examination were abnormal or there was an increase in the number of erythrocytes and leukocytes in the urine sediment of the 15 patients. From the results of this study it can be concluded that in patients with urinary tract infections (UTIs) it was found that ertrocytes were more dominated. from 0-2/lpb (93%) and leucocytes more than 0-5/lpb (80%) or abnormal.

Abstract

The utilization of biodiversity is very large, about 80% of people, especially in developing countries still rely on plants as medicinal ingredients to maintain their health.Jackfruit plants have been known empirically efficacy both on the leaves, fruit, fruit seeds, sap, and wood. Jackfruit leaves can be used as a launching of breast milk, ulcers (external medicine) and wounds, the leaves of this plant are also recommended by Ayurvedic medicine as an antidiabetic remedy. This study aims to identify secondary metabolite compounds in jackfruit leaf simplisia(Aheterophyllus rtocarpus). The group of compounds was tested using reagents to determine the chemical content in the simplisia of jackfruit leaves in the form of lignin, flavonoids and saponin tests. The method of research conducted in this study is the method of experimentation. An experiment is an experiment to prove a particular question or hypothesis. Experiments can be at laboratorium or outside the laboratory, experimental work contains the meaning of learning to do, because it can be incorporated into the learning method. The purpose of the experimental method is that students are able to design, prepare, implement and report experiments. The results showed that in simplisia jackfruit leaves positively contain lignin by using floroglusin LP reagents in addition to jackfruit leaf lignin also positively contains flavonoids using HCL reagents.

Abstract

Respiration is the process of exchanging gases between organisms and their environment. Respiration involves taking in oxygen, circulating it to cells, and releasing carbon dioxide. The process of respiration involves the respiration medium, the respiratory membrane, and the respiratory organs. Respiration function to maintain pH balance and electrical balance in body fluids. Gas diffusion between the respiratory organs and the environment can occur due to differences in gas pressure. The purpose of this research is to know the anatomy of the respiratory system and to know the function of the respiratory system and its constituent organs. The method used is the experimental method, the experimental method is an experiment to prove a certain question or hypothesis. Experiments can be carried out in a laboratory or outside the laboratory, experimental work means learning to do, because it can be included in the learning method. The objectives of the experimental method: 1) students are able to conclude the facts, information or data obtained; 2) students are able to design, prepare, implement and report research results. The results showed that the lung capacity volumes of the two groups of different sexes. probandus one (male). with a body weight of 51.1 kg, height 168 cm and chest circumference at inspiration 88 cm and 87 cm at the time of expiration, lung capacity 2.13 ml. Probandus two (female) weighing 43.6 kg, height 145 cm and chest circumference at inspiration of 83 cm and 79 cm on expiration, lung capacity 1.13 ml. The lung capacity of men is greater than that of women, because men are generally more active than women, so the volume of the lung capacity of men is large and requires a large amount of oxygen.

Abstract

Microbiology is the study of microorganisms which cannot be seen with the naked eye to examine what is contained in microorganisms. To see microorganisms, it is necessary to have gram stain which is one of the most widely used procedures to characterize many bacteria. This study aims to understand the chemical and theoretical basis for the differential staining procedure as well as the procedure for differentiating between the two main groups of bacteria namely gram positive and gram negative. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The experimental method is a method used in laboratory research. The purpose of this experimental method is to determine the consequences of a treatment given deliberately by the researcher. In addition, a qualitative descriptive approach was used to provide an overview of airborne bacteria by using the gram stain method. The results showed that samples of NA media in airborne bacteria were carried out using a microscope at 10x magnification, which aims to see the color of the bacteria, in the gram staining experiment that has been carried out produces a purple color. This shows that these bacteria are included in the gram-positive bacteria group, as well as the results of the type of bacteria obtained in the gram stain experiment, namely E. coli bacteria which has aform monobacillus.

Abstract

Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is one of the food sources of fat that is currently in great demand by people because of its health benefits, VCO has several advantages, namely high lauric acid content. Pure coconut oil contains ± 10% unsaturated fatty acids and ± 90% saturated fatty acids. The saturated fatty acid in VCO is lauric acid. Lauric acid is a medium chain fatty acid known as MCFA (Medium Chain Fatty Acid). Lauric acid and short chain saturated fatty acids can be beneficial for health to improve and moisturize skin conditions. This study aims to see how to make VCO by enzymatic method using papain enzyme from papaya fruit peel. The method used is the enzymatic method using the papain enzyme of papaya fruit peel where the process of making VCO is enzymatically using the papain enzyme from papaya sap. Papain catalyzes a substrate through a hydrolysis reaction with the help of water molecules. The results showed that there were three layers with the blondo layer and the oil being slightly mixed, which was caused by the ripe papaya skin, where the papain enzyme content was slightly reduced compared to the young papaya skin.

Abstract

Plant diversity is not only seen morphologically, but can also be distinguished anatomically. Anatomical features can be distinguished as support and reinforcement for classifying plant species. This study aims to observe the morphology of the shape of the plant organs and to observe the anatomy of the constituent tissues of the plant organs. The types used were 19, which are representatives of the main organs that make up plants, namely roots, stems and leaves, while other modified organs are flowers, fruits and seeds. The research method used is descriptive method with a qualitative approach through observation of 19 different plant species. To obtain valid research results, samples were taken of several plants that have in common, namely plants that have green leaves. The results showed that the 19 types of plants observed had similarities in the characteristics of their leaves, which were green and there were also similarities in the main organs that make up the plants, namely roots, stems and leaves and in other modified organs such as flowers, fruits and seeds. However, there are some plants that do not have these characteristics but are not included in this study.
