Abstract

This study examines the perspective of Islamic Religious Education on child development at Dayah Darul Ulum Al Munawarah, Lhokseumawe, focusing on educational practices, supporting factors, and existing constraints. The research addresses how caregivers conceptualize and implement child development strategies within an Islamic boarding school context. Employing a qualitative field research design, data were systematically collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that caregivers apply a combination of authoritarian, democratic, and permissive parenting patterns to optimize child development. Educational methods include exemplary conduct, moral advice, individualized attention, habituation of virtuous behavior, and the application of proportional disciplinary measures. Child development is reinforced through structured Islamic activities such as congregational prayers, Qur’anic recitation, religious lectures, spiritual–physical activities, and periodic evaluations and competitions. Supporting factors consist of caregivers’ religious knowledge, alignment of institutional vision and mission, patience, sincerity, exemplary behavior, and clear institutional regulations. Conversely, inhibiting factors include weak commitment among some administrators, limited pedagogical experience and innovation, and recurrent student rule violations. Overall, the study argues that effective child development in Islamic educational institutions depends on coherent educational leadership, consistent institutional commitment, and adaptive pedagogical practices.

Abstract

The implementation of interactive educational games has become an important pedagogical strategy in early childhood education, particularly in cultivating Islamic values among preschool children. This study examines the application of interactive educational games at Miftahul Jannah Kindergarten as a medium of educational interaction between teachers and learners. The research addresses how play-based learning activities function as an interactive educational system that supports cognitive, affective, and moral development in early childhood. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through classroom observations, documentation, and analysis of teaching and learning practices. The findings reveal that interactive educational games effectively integrate key components of educational interaction, including learning objectives, instructional activities, teaching materials, learning resources, instructional tools, teaching methods, and evaluation. These components work synergistically to facilitate meaningful interaction that goes beyond the transmission of academic content and contributes to the development of children’s knowledge, skills, attitudes, and Islamic values. The study argues that interactive educational games serve not only as instructional tools but also as transformative media that support holistic child development through enjoyable, value-oriented, and contextually meaningful learning experiences in kindergarten education.

Abstract

Prior to the emergence of digital technology and online marketplaces, commercial transactions had already existed, albeit through different mechanisms and modes of exchange. In the contemporary digital economy, electronic commerce platforms have transformed traditional trading practices, raising questions regarding their compatibility with Islamic commercial contracts. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Salam contract in the goods ordering system on Shopee. Employing a qualitative research design based on a systematic literature review, data were collected from relevant academic journals, books, and scholarly sources discussing Salam contracts and e-commerce transactions. The findings indicate that Shopee’s transaction mechanism reflects the essential characteristics of a Salam contract, particularly the requirement of full advance payment prior to the delivery of goods at a mutually agreed time. Buyers complete the payment in advance through various payment channels, after which the goods are delivered to the buyer, and funds are released to the seller upon confirmation of product conformity. The study argues that Shopee’s transaction system demonstrates functional alignment with the principles of the Salam contract, although continuous evaluation is necessary to ensure full compliance with Islamic commercial jurisprudence in digital marketplaces.

Abstract

The classical Islamic civilization, particularly during the Abbasid and Andalusian periods (750–1258 CE), played a pivotal role in shaping intellectual, socio-political, economic, educational, and cultural developments that influenced both the Islamic world and broader human civilization. Amid contemporary challenges marked by globalization, secularization, and the distortion of Islamic values by extremist interpretations, this study investigates the relevance of classical Islamic civilizational values in addressing the ethical and structural crises of the modern world. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach through an extensive library-based analysis of classical and contemporary sources, the research examines how foundational principles such as social justice, interreligious tolerance, ethical scholarship, accountable leadership, and spiritually grounded education can be systematically recontextualized. The findings reveal that these values are not merely historically significant but remain conceptually compatible and normatively applicable to modern contexts, particularly in education, governance, economic systems, and interfaith relations. The study argues that the deliberate reintegration of these core principles can contribute to a more ethical, sustainable, and intellectually balanced contemporary civilization capable of responding to moral, social, and epistemic disruptions generated by extreme secularization and global transformation.

Abstract

In the era of digital transformation, literacy extends beyond the ability to read and write printed texts to encompass competencies in navigating, evaluating, and producing information in cyberspace. This study examines strategies for fostering a culture of Arabic digital literacy through the integration of e-learning platforms in higher education. The research addresses the question of how instructional technology can simultaneously enhance Arabic language proficiency and cultivate critical awareness toward digital Arabic content. Employing a qualitative approach based on literature review and conceptual analysis, the study synthesizes recent scholarship on digital literacy, language pedagogy, and technology-enhanced learning. The findings indicate that integrating Arabic language curricula with interactive e-learning features—such as multimedia resources, collaborative forums, adaptive assessments, and digital content production tasks—can create an adaptive and sustainable learning ecosystem. Such integration not only strengthens linguistic competence across reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, but also promotes critical engagement, information filtering skills, and ethical digital participation. The study argues that developing Arabic digital literacy requires a systematic alignment between pedagogical design, technological affordances, and cultural-contextual relevance to ensure meaningful and responsible digital engagement.

Abstract

This study examines the legal aspects of service fee collection practices carried out by Sharia banking agents within branchless banking services. The research is situated within the growing expansion of financial inclusion through agent-based banking systems that allow banking transactions to be conducted outside conventional bank offices. The study addresses the central question of whether the collection of service fees by Sharia banking agents is legally justified within the framework of Islamic law and Indonesian banking regulations. Employing a normative and comparative legal approach, the research analyses relevant regulatory frameworks, including Financial Services Authority Regulations concerning branchless financial services, as well as principles of Islamic commercial jurisprudence (muamalah). The study also considers practical cases of Sharia banking agent transactions to assess how fee mechanisms are implemented in practice. The findings demonstrate that the collection of service fees by agents is legally permissible under Islamic law when it is grounded in a valid contractual arrangement, particularly the wakalah bil ujrah contract, and when the fee structure is transparent, clearly determined, and free from elements of gharar (uncertainty) and riba (usury). These conditions ensure that the practice remains consistent with both Sharia legal principles and the regulatory framework governing Islamic banking services in Indonesia.
