Abstract

Heat exchangers or often called heat exchangers (HE) are widely used in industry. There are many types of heat exchangers, there are fire pipes or water pipes with cross flow or unidirectional flow. Utilizing exhaust gas is an alternative to reduce costs and increase effectiveness so that wasted energy can be utilized as optimally as possible. A generator is one that can produce electrical energy which produces flue gases with a high temperature so that it can be utilized using a heat exchanger. A shell and tube heat exchanger with a fire tube type was designed. The number of pipes designed was 131 with a pipe diameter of 2.5 inches. The design results obtained from heating water are steam with a capacity of 1 ton. The dimensions of the heat exchanger are 3 meters long with a diameter of 2 meters. The heat energy produced by steam is 2852.2605KW, with a steam temperature produced of 2000C. The resulting LMTD is 360.50K. With this heat exchanger, it is hoped that the costs for producing bias steam will be as minimal as possible

Abstract

This study aims to design an ergonomic study table based on students' anthropometric data to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries. Anthropometric data, such as sitting elbow height, knee height, thigh length, and hand reach, were collected from 121 students using an anthropometer. In addition, musculoskeletal complaints were evaluated using the Nordic Body Map (NBM). Ergonomic risks were assessed using REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) and RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) methods to identify non-ideal work postures. The results of the analysis showed that the current working posture of the students was in the high to very high risk zone, with a final REBA score of 9 and RULA of 8. Based on these results, an ergonomic study table was designed with adjustable height features (60-72 cm), 62 cm table width, and 124 cm table length. This design refers to anthropometric data with the 5th to 95th percentile range to ensure comfort and compatibility with various student body dimensions. This ergonomic study table design is expected to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries, increase productivity, and create a healthier and more comfortable learning environment for students. Design validation through hands-on testing is a recommendation for further research.

Abstract

MasterCam is a software used to simulate the machining process where the final result produces a G code that can later be used on a CNC machine and can be used to create an object according to the design in the simulation process. With the MasterCam software, it can simplify and accelerate the manufacture of a product with the same dimensions and shape. CNC machines are used to make products in large quantities without any difference from all of these products, because CNC moves and operates based on a program, not based on the skills of the operator. A study has been conducted using MasterCam software on how to make a Nevel product so that the resulting G code can be transferred to a CNC machine. The material used to make a nevel is brass

Abstract

One of the machining processes that is often used in the industrial world is the drilling process (hole making process). The hole making process can be done manually or automatically depending on the needs. In the manufacture of products with a low level of accuracy and small quantities, the manual process is very effective to use, but in the manufacture of products with a high level of accuracy and large quantities, the manual process is no longer effective to use. Therefore, a process is needed that works automatically so that the results of the work are as expected. Automatic control systems can be done using microcontrollers, computers, PLCs, or circuits consisting of control components. The control components that are often used are relays, timers and counters. This final project will discuss the performance of the drilling machine in making several holes in a row and applying it with a control system. The automatic control system is used to move the workpiece holder (vice) and the drilling machine. The control components used are relays, timers, counters and limit switches. These control components are used as controllers on the workpiece holder and drilling machine controllers.
