Abstract

Family conflict is part of the dynamics of domestic life and, from an Islamic perspective, does not necessarily have to end in divorce. Social changes, economic pressures, transformations in family roles, changing patterns of communication, and the development of digital technology have made family conflicts increasingly complex in the modern era. This study aims to analyze family conflict resolution from the perspective of Islamic family jurisprudence (fiqh munakahat) and to formulate its reconstruction in order to address the needs of modern families. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach through an examination of fiqh literature, Islamic legal sources, legislation, and relevant journal articles. The findings indicate that Islamic family jurisprudence provides mechanisms for resolving family conflicts through ṣulḥ, taḥkīm, and mediation, which are oriented toward reconciliation, justice, and the realization of family welfare. In the modern context, these mechanisms need to be reconstructed through a comprehensive, integrative, adaptive, and preventive approach that takes into account legal, psychological, social, economic, communicative, and technological dimensions. The reconstruction of family conflict resolution should not merely aim to end disputes but also to prevent conflict escalation, protect the rights of family members, and preserve marital harmony whenever possible.

Abstract

Studies on ‘ilal al-hadith have often adopted a normative and deterministic perspective, treating the presence of an ‘illah as an automatic factor that invalidates hadith authenticity. However, classical hadith criticism demonstrates a more nuanced evaluative practice in dealing with ‘illah and its implications. This article aims to examine the concept of the relativity of ‘ilal al-hadith within the classical tradition of hadith criticism and to analyze the extent to which ‘illah influences the determination of hadith quality. This study employs a qualitative library-based research method by examining classical and contemporary literature in ‘ulūm al-hadith, particularly works addressing ‘ilal al-hadith and hadith criticism methodology. A hadithological approach is applied through conceptual and comparative analysis of major hadith scholars’ perspectives. The findings reveal that ‘ilal al-hadith does not function as a deterministic variable but operates within a graded and contextual evaluative framework. The impact of ‘illah on hadith quality depends on the type of defect, its underlying causes, the degree of weakness it produces, and the presence of external indicators (qarā’in) such as mutāba‘āt, shawāhid, and talaqqī al-‘ulamā’ bi al-qabūl. This article contributes theoretically by formulating ‘ilal al-hadith as a methodological variable with relative implications in hadith evaluation, while clarifying the distinction between formal hadith authenticity and practical acceptance. It concludes that the relativity of ‘ilal al-hadith does not imply epistemic relativism regarding hadith truth, but rather reflects methodological relativity in assessing the implications of ‘illah for hadith classification and acceptance.

Abstract

Surah Al-A‘rāf (7):179 describes the condition of humans and jinn who turn away from Allah’s guidance by neglecting the functions of the heart, eyes, and ears as the means of attaining divine guidance. The message of the verse is conveyed through a coherent linguistic structure, requiring an exegetical approach that examines not only its textual meaning but also its linguistic dimensions. This study aims to analyze the interpretation of Q.S. Al-A‘rāf (7):179 through the taḥlīlī method by examining its lexical expressions (lafẓ), grammatical structure (i‘rāb), textual coherence (munāsabah), and rhetorical features (balāghah). It also seeks to identify the reasons why humans and jinn are described as the inhabitants of Hell and to explore the lessons conveyed by the verse. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach based on library research. Primary data were obtained from classical and contemporary Qur’anic commentaries, while secondary data were collected from relevant scholarly articles. Data were analyzed using the taḥlīlī method of Qur’anic exegesis. The findings reveal that the use of the preposition lām, the repetition of the structure wa lahum, the ism al-tafḍīl form in the word aḍallu, and the rhetorical device of tashbīh collectively construct a linguistic emphasis on the consequences of neglecting the God-given capacity for guidance. Consequently, humans and jinn become the inhabitants of Hell because they fail to utilize their hearts, eyes, and ears in responding to Allah’s guidance. Furthermore, the verse underscores the importance of purifying the heart and optimizing all human faculties in fulfilling the purpose of creation. This study contributes to the development of tafsīr lughawī studies and provides a basis for further research on the concept of misguidance in the Qur’an, particularly through a mawḍū‘ī study of the term aḍallu and its lexical derivatives.

Abstract

The digital era has fundamentally disrupted the structure of traditional religious authority within contemporary Muslim societies. Public legitimacy has shifted from formal, scholarship-based institutions toward performative figures who adeptly leverage social media. This study aims to critically analyze this socio-religious phenomenon through a thematic hadith approach (maudhu’i). The method employed is descriptive qualitative based on library research. This study evaluates prophetic traditions regarding the gradual loss of religious knowledge, the moral responsibility of information transmission, and the social dangers of pseudo-authority. Primary data were gathered from the Kutubus Sittah literature specifically Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim—while secondary data were collected from contemporary academic journals on religion, new media, and cyber-sociology. The results reveal that popularity mechanisms on social media potentially create space for the emergence of religious figures who do not always possess academic legitimacy. Consequently, digital platforms frequently elevate incompetent individuals—conceptually identified in prophetic traditions as "ignorant leaders" (ru’ūsan juhhālan) to issue instant fatwas without a solid foundation in Islamic legal methodology (ushul fikih). This epistemological shift poses a severe risk of triggering widespread theological distortion and social polarization among lay audiences. As a practical solution to this crisis of cyber-authority, this study formulates an operational framework termed "Digital Tabayyun." This framework adapts the critical methodology of classical hadith scholars into the virtual space through four primary filters: source verification (sanad validation), content authentication (matan verification), contextual analysis (asbab al-wurud), and ethical impact assessment (maslahah analysis). The implementation of this framework is expected to safeguard the authenticity of Islamic teachings and curb the flow of misleading religious information on social media.
