Abstract

Children's faith development at the El-Shaddai Abigail Piayu Orphanage aims to provide a solid foundation in the formation of children's character and personality through the theme "Sharing Love, Spreading Happiness". This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explore the experiences and perceptions of children and caregivers in the context of faith development. The results of this development indicate that faith development programs that include spiritual and social activities not only increase children's self-confidence and happiness, but also strengthen their social relationships with peers and the community. Active involvement in love-sharing activities contributes to the development of empathy, tolerance, and sacrifice, which are essential in the growth of their faith. By focusing on structured faith development, this study highlights the need for collaboration between orphanages, churches, and communities to create an environment that supports children's spiritual development, as well as improving the quality of support for them in the future.

Abstract

The Friday Blessing Program is a tangible manifestation of Jesus' teachings in Matthew 25:35, emphasising the importance of feeding the hungry as an expression of faith-based service. This program is carried out by Vera Limardjo House of Mercy (VL Home) under the auspices of the Cahaya Obor Berkat (COB) Foundation as a demonstration of social concern for underprivileged communities. The initiative involves the regular distribution of meals to those in need, aiming to enhance social well-being and foster a spirit of solidarity within the community. Implementing the Friday Blessing Program has received a positive response from various groups, including volunteers who willingly participate in this initiative. This positive reception indicates that the program not only benefits but also serves as a form of social education, encouraging the values of compassion and generosity among the broader society. It is hoped that through this program, the Batam community will be further motivated to share with others, even simple ways, such as offering a piece of bread or a spoonful of rice. Thus, the Friday Blessing Program is not merely a social initiative but also a concrete expression of the teachings of love in everyday life.

Abstract

In the Book of 1 Samuel 17:1-11, it tells about the battle between David and Goliath. David, who was a young man with no experience in the military world, had to face Goliath and then David was able to defeat the mighty Goliath with extraordinary faith and courage. This news has deep relevance in the context of preparing the younger generation to face the challenges of the times. This article aims to explore how the principles contained in this incident can be implemented to equip future generations, especially students at State Senior High School 23, with courage, perseverance, faith and integrity in facing contemporary problems. Implementation of this teaching includes developing mental toughness, the ability to rely on God in every challenge, as well as the importance of building strong character through a clear vision of life. In addition, this article emphasizes the importance of teaching moral values, self-confidence and hard work in forming a generation that is ready to face increasingly complex global, technological and social challenges. By following David's example, the younger generation can be prepared to become individuals who are brave, responsible and have integrity in facing a future full of uncertainty.

This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, which examines the effectiveness of the training program in increasing students' ethical and moral awareness. The training methods used include group discussions, case studies, and involvement in social activities. The results of the study indicate that participation in this training contributed to increasing students' understanding of human values and ethics, as well as their ability to apply them practically in a social context. It was also found that students who were involved in social activities tended to show positive changes in their attitudes and behaviors. Thus, this training program is important to prepare students to face moral challenges in a complex and diverse society.
