Abstract

Farmers' adjustments in combining harvesters cause rice production to fluctuate yearly. This research intends to analyze factors impacting rice production and the degree of technical proficiency of rice farming using a combine harvester in Mindugading village. The study was accomplished in Mindugading Village, Tarik District, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, from February to March 2024. A total of 53 farmers were sampled using a simple random sampling technique in this study. The variables utilized in this research are land area, seeds, labor, fertilizer, pesticides, and rental costs. The analytical method utilized in this research applies a parametric approach through models of Stochastic Frontier Analysis. The first stage uses the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method, and the second uses the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method. This analysis was carried out with the assistance of Frontier Stochastic 4.1 software. The research outcomes reveal that rice production is affected by land area, fertilizer, seeds, and rental costs. The value of the combine harvester's technical efficiency is 0.87.

Abstract

The high market demand for vegetables guaranteed to be safe, clean, and of excellent quality is increasingly in demand by modern society. The higher demand for hydroponic vegetables opens up promising business opportunities for farmers, so hydroponic vegetable producers need to understand the factors influencing consumer purchasing decisions to win fierce market competition. This study aimed to analyze the effect of mixed marketing and consumer perceptions on purchasing decisions for hydroponic vegetables at Kebun Hidroponik Griya Botani. The research was conducted from  February until  April 2024 at Jl. Perum Pondok Mutiara, Banjarbendo, Kec. Sidoarjo, Kab. Sidoarjo, Central  Java. The number of respondents in this study was 50, selected by chance (accidental sampling), and the data obtained were analyzed using SEM PLS 8.0. The results showed that the 7 P mixed marketing (product, price, place, promotion, people, physical evidence, and process) significantly positively affected purchasing decisions for hydroponic vegetables. Meanwhile, consumer perception (health awareness and food safety) had no significant effect on purchasing hydroponic vegetables. So, Kebun Hidroponik Griya Botani must regularly participate in events, such as product marketing or other festivals, in order to educate the public or consumers about the benefits and advantages of hydroponic vegetables from cultivation to post-harvest through word of mouth and distributing pamphlets so that people and consumers are interested in buying hydroponic vegetable products.

Abstract

Avocado is one of the plants that can produce crops in tropical countries and is one of the preferred fruit types by Indonesian people. The avocado type grown in Indonesia is the YM Avocado, which is endemic to Lebak. The YM avocado plant is still unknown to the Indonesian public or at least not very popular among them. This is because there is limited access to avocado seedlings and poor avocado growing practices. In the end, there is a need to develop better ways of avocado farming that include proper nutrition. This research bears the following objectives: To analyze the growth performances of avocado seedlings (Persea americana Mill) and the role of different types and concentrations of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). The study was done from February to April 2024 at the Experimental Field, Faculty of Agriculture Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University Kp. Cikuya Karang Kitri, Sindangsari Village Pabuaran District Serang Regency, Banten. The experimental design used in the study was a factorial Randomized Block Design, RBD, with two factors and three replications. The first factor was the type of LOF, which was further divided into two groups: banana peel LOF and banana stem LOF. The second factor was LOF. It had five levels, and there were five treatments: 0 mL/L water, 80 mL/L water, 160 mL/L water, 240 mL/L water, and 320 mL/L water. Treatment had three groups of plants, and each was given different treatments. There were 30 plants, and they were used as samples. The observation parameters constituted height increase in seedlings, number of leaves, length of leaves, size of the leaf area, and diameter of stem, respectively. The effect was highly significant at p < 0.05, and the result revealed that the banana stem LOF treatment positively impacted the stem diameter parameter, and from the result obtained above, banana stem LOF recorded the best average of 1.09 cm. The potential existed for an interaction between the type of banana peel LOF and the concentration of 320 mL/L water on the seedling height increase parameter.

Abstract

This research intends to examine the availability and state of tourism supply and demand components in Tipang Tourism Village, Baktiraja Sub-district, to support or facilitate the development/growth of tourism villages. Tipang Tourism Village has considerable potential, but tourism development in this area still faces various obstacles, including the low quality and availability of tourist support facilities. Analyzing supply and demand components is crucial for pinpointing areas that require enhancement. To attract more tourists and support local economic growth. The research method employed is a questionnaire survey of visiting tourists and direct observation of each tourism sub-component. The results show that the supply component in Tipang Tourism Village has a score of 32, which means that the supply component is not optimal in supporting the development of tourism villages. Conversely, the demand aspect has a score of 31, indicating inadequacy in supporting tourism development. The components with high scores in supporting development are Penatapan Gonting tourist attractions, places to eat/restaurants, private vehicles as modes of transportation, and social media as promotional media. Conversely, other components have a low value because they are less attractive to tourists, rarely visited, or have unsatisfactory conditions. According to the BCG matrix analysis, the position of tourism activities in Tipang Tourism Village is in the Dogs quadrant, which indicates low supply and demand. Therefore, substantial investment is required to increase market share and tourism growth.
