Abstract

This study explains the thoughts of Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyah regarding itsar. The methods used are exploratory and analytical. The results of the research found that in the view of Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyah is an attitude of prioritizing others above self-interest. Itsar is the opposite of atsarah, that is, he does not care about his brother's needs because he also needs them or prioritizes his own interests. There are 3 (three) levels of itsar in Ibn Qayyim's view, namely; First, put others before yourself. Second, prioritizing the pleasure of Allah over the pleasure of others. Third, attribute itsar to Allah and not to yourself. The relationship between Itsar and generosity is that itsar is the highest peak of generosity. When humans are able to give all their possessions to others, even if they need it. Keywords: Itsar, Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyah, Generosity.

Abstract

This study focuses on the behavior of students during the pandemic from the perspective of Islamic theology. The purpose of this study was to find out the academic behavior of students during the pandemic from the perspective of Islamic theology. Academic behavior can be interpreted as the tendency of a person's behavior when he learns academic things. Learning behavior can be interpreted as an activity that takes place in active interaction with the environment that results in changes, knowledge, understanding, and attitude values. This research is field research, using qualitative data types. Data sourced from primary and secondary data. Primary data is in the form of field findings in the form of interview observations with AFI students batch 2018 and observations in the field. Secondary data is in the form of literature and documents related to this research, both books, journals, theses and also through the internet. Data collection techniques using descriptive methods. The results showed that the academic behavior of the 2018 AFI students in terms of Islamic theology, including that their academic attitudes or behavior were partially inclined to the Mu'tazilah school, where students had the freedom to do and have academic desires. All academic actions carried out by students are purely based on the actions of the students themselves. Some other students, leaning towards the Jabariyah school, believe that students in all their academic actions are controlled by Allah. Students do not have freedom of academic behavior, which means that students do not have power over all academic behavior, they are controlled in all their actions and do not even have academic will and endeavors. And some others, leaning towards the Qodariyah school, are true to the name that students have power and freedom in all matters of academic behavior. Likewise, the academic behavior of other students, leaning towards the Asy-Ariyah school, is that God is the real maker of student behavior. Meanwhile, for the Khawarij, Murji'ah, Shi'a, and Maturidiyah schools, they were not found at all. Keywords: Academic behavior, students, Islamic Theology

Abstract

Ibn Sina denies the relativity of philosophy, according to him philosophy is a universal study that is not a relative discourse, because it is impossible to justify all of the diversity of opinions. Even so, Ibn Sina does not deny the limitations of human reason and knowledge which can only reach the essence (mahiyah) not the truth of the essence. In Peripatetic epistemology, the methodology of knowledge is divided into three: induction (istiqra), deduction (syllogism) and analogy (tamtsil). In addition, Ibn Sina also views the important role of memory in the construction of premises. Keywords: epistemology, peripatetic, universal

Abstract

Islamic philosophy is one of the fields of study whose existence has given rise to many pros and cons. Viewed from the point of view of the western intellectual tradition, islamic philosophy appears to be merely a Greco-Alexandrian philosophy in arabic 'clothes', a philosophy whose sole role is to channel certain important elements of ancient heritage to the Medieval West. The discussion of Islamic philosophy as a science must certainly refer to the existence of Islam itself with authentic sources that are derived from where a science originated and can develop and survive to the present day but in its course Islamic philosophy has received a lot of criticism from orientalists that Islamic Islamic philosophy does not exist and partly only a reduction from greek philosophical thought translated into arabic. And this also raises a big question for the author where the author got the question in 2020 during a comprehensive exam on islamic philosophy courses that the author still could not answer at that time. However, with the anxiety that is accused of Islamic philosophy the author describes in this paper. using the Library resech with the method of documentation studies finally the author finds the finding that Islamic philosophy is not true what is alleged by orintalism. From this paper, the author wants to see more about the authenticity of Islamic philosophy as a science in terms of terminology, sources, and figures of Islamic thought and how the roots of Islamic philosophy can be formed and survive, in the criticism of orientalism. Keywords, authenticity, urgensi, Islamic philosophy.

Abstract

This study looks at the numerous studies of Islamic theology conducted by Western nations since the early nineteenth century. They studied Muslim thinkers' writings and brought them to the West. Initially, the study of the manuscript was general in nature, but later thinkers narrowed it down to a specific study. Sabine Schmidtke is a modern Orientalist who specializes in manuscripts of Islamic theology, particularly Mu'tazilah theology. In this study, the author employs the library research method to examine Sabine Schmidtke's books and journals on the relationship between Jewish Karaites, Shia theology and Mu'tazilah theology. Based on the author's research, Sabine's comparative historical and textual studies have revealed that the Shia school of thought and the Jewish Karaites sect have adopted Mu'tazilah thought, specifically the thought of Abu al-Husayn al-Basri. They not only adopted ideas, but they also copied and preserved writings found in Yemen in the form of manuscripts. Keywords: Sabine Schmidtke, Jewish Karaites, Mu'tazilah.
