El-Fikr: Jurnal Aqidah dan Filsafat Islam [Journal of Aqidah and The Islamic Philosophy) aims to serve the interests of a wide range of thoughtful readers and academic scholars of Theology and Islamic Philosophy , as well as theologians, philosophers, Islamic traditions, methaphysicians, and others interested in the multidisciplinary study of Aqidah and The Islamic Philosophy. Abstract

Aristotle was a Greek Classical philosopher who lived in the 4th century BC. He is a central figure in the world of philosophy, through his thought patterns and works he created a paradigm in the science of philosophy, even in the course of philosophy until the modern era it is still studied and relevant. For example, in Metaphysics, he says that the soul and body are a unified whole, so if the body dies the soul will disappear. This opinion has had a big influence in the world of Islamic philosophy, that is, its influence is very broad. It is also important, as a comparison, to understand modern philosophers, Charles Sanders Peirce was a 19th century philosopher, he made contributions to the world of Modern philosophy, especially in his thoughts on Pragmatism, that an action must be in accordance with the purpose for which it is served. By these two philosophical thinkers, this article is here to provide an analysis of both. This research uses a qualitative approach with a type of literature study, namely reviewing books or writings related to the research carried out. The results of this research show that Aristotle's thinking is in the form of: Logic, Theoretical Philosophy, Practical Philosophy and finally Philosophy. Abstract

Feminism in the digital era has developed to encompass various issues and perspectives. However, the intersection between feminism and Islam is still a controversial topic of debate. This paper aims to explore the concept of digital feminism in the context of Islamic values ​​and principles. The Islamic framework understands the position of women in actualizing the concept of equality, suitability and harmony in the digital space. This research uses a qualitative research method with primary sources of the Qur'an and the hadith of the Prophet saw, while secondary sources are based on books, journals, and websites that are relevant to this research. The findings in this study indicate that; first, the challenges faced by women in the digital space, such as online harassment, gender-based discrimination, and marginalization of women. Second, the spirit of feminism spreads in the digital space so that this movement is increasingly growing and entering the lives of Muslim women. Third, the Islamic perspective on women is different from the concept offered by feminism, because Islam glorifies women based on their portion and nature. This research is expected to provide benefits regarding the role of women in the Islamic perspective. The limitations of this study are inseparable from the sources of information presented. Therefore, this study recommends that further researchers study the concept of women in Islam, that the role of women in Islam is different from the concept offered by feminism.   Keywords: Digital; Feminism; Gender; Islam; Women

Abstract

The study of the Quran and its relationship with scientific truths has emerged as an intriguing topic in modern scholarly discourse. The Quran, revered as the sacred scripture of Islam, serves not only as a spiritual guide but also encompasses various aspects that resonate with contemporary scientific discoveries. This research aims to explore the interplay between the Quran and modern science within a philosophical framework. Employing an interdisciplinary approach, the study identifies scientific concepts within the Quran that correlate with current scientific findings and theories. The research method to be used in this study is a qualitative method. Qualitative methods were chosen because they are able to provide an in-depth understanding of complex phenomena, such as the relationship between the Qur'an and scientific truth. Thus, this paper reflects the complexity of the relationship between science and religion, particularly within the context of Islam and the Quran, emphasizing the importance of dialogue between science and religion in comprehending the truths about human existence. This exploration seeks to deepen our understanding of how religious texts like the Quran can enrich discussions on scientific discoveries, fostering a holistic approach to the complexities of reality. Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of workaholic lifestyle (Hustle Culture) for students. The purpose of this study is to find out how the form of mind and happiness for Hustle Culture students at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri Palembang using the analysis of Stoicism. The method in this study uses a qualitative descriptive research type. Data sources, namely 1. Primary Data Sources (research subjects of Students of Universitas Indo Global Mandiri Palembang), 2. Secondary Data Sources (books, literature, articles, magazines or other secondary data sources). The data collection technique includes interviews, observation and documentation as well as data analysis techniques, namely inductive-descriptive. The results this study found that Hustle Culture Students at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri mostly have inconsistencies with stoic. As the great theory of Stoicism philosophy is that the happiness obtained must be harmony with the laws of nature, thoughts that are within reach and how to represent them. Based on the analysis the fourteen cases of students with subjects seven male students and seven female students. Two male and four female students were found to be accordance with Marcus Aurelius' Stoic concept of happiness. Meanwhile, five male and three female students were not in accordance with Marcus Aurelius' Stoic. Through the data collected, six male and female students who were in accordance with Stoicism carried out Hustle Culture activities by building positive thoughts representations their work events. By not thinking about things that beyond control and line with the Universal Logos. Meanwhile, eight male and female students who were not in accordance with Stoicism represented work experienced with negative emotions and not with the Universal Logos. Abstract

This study explores the critique of empiricism toward Islamic creed (akidah) as presented by Jafar Rohadi (known as Guru Gembul), who argues that faith, creed, and the concept of divinity are unscientific and subjective because they cannot be empirically proven. Guru Gembul's views on creed are framed as a product of secular epistemological hegemony, which limits knowledge to sensory experience. Through a qualitative-descriptive method based on literature review, this study compares the empiricist perspective with rational arguments from both Muslim and Western philosophers, such as Imam Al-Ghazali and Ramadhan Al-Buthi, who assert that scientific proof is not limited to empirical methods but also includes logic and causality. The study concludes that a rational approach is valid for scientifically proving the Islamic creed and that empiricism has limitations in explaining metaphysical reality. The implications of this research are to broaden the scope of scientific proof to encompass a rational understanding of Islamic creed and to enrich philosophical studies on faith within the context of scientific knowledge. Abstract

Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan atau epistemologi di dunia mengalami transformasi yang sangat cepat, khususnya di wilayah Barat. Akar utama perkembangan tersebut berpijak pada dua fondasi penting, yaitu rasionalisme dan empirisme. Rasionalisme mengedepankan akal sebagai sumber pengetahuan utama, sementara empirisme menekankan pentingnya pengalaman inderawi. Berbeda dengan Barat, peradaban Islam, khususnya di dunia Arab, justru mengalami kemunduran dalam perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan. Stagnasi ini ditandai dengan kecenderungan umat Islam menggantungkan diri pada warisan masa lalu tanpa adanya pembaruan dan reinterpretasi yang kritis terhadap teks-teks keagamaan maupun warisan pemikiran klasik. Al-Jabiri menawarkan pendekatan epistemologis baru melalui kerangka kritis yang disebut sebagai pembaruan nalar Arab-Islam. Ia membagi epistemologi Islam ke dalam tiga struktur utama, yaitu bayani (berbasis teks), burhani (berbasis logika dan rasionalitas), dan irfani (berbasis intuisi). Menurutnya, dominasi nalar bayani dan irfani dalam sejarah keilmuan Islam telah menghambat perkembangan pemikiran kritis. Oleh karena itu, ia mendorong penggunaan nalar burhani sebagai sarana membangun kembali peradaban ilmu dalam Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan library research, yakni mengkaji berbagai karya dan pemikiran al-Jabiri melalui studi pustaka secara mendalam, lalu dianalisis dalam konteks perkembangan pemikiran Islam kontemporer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa epistemologi Islam ala al-Jabiri merupakan upaya sistematis dalam mengintegrasikan warisan tradisional dengan metode berpikir modern. Ketiga struktur epistemologi tersebut, apabila berjalan harmonis, akan menjadikan teks keagamaan tidak lagi eksklusif, melainkan terbuka terhadap dialog kemanusiaan dan keadilan. Dengan demikian, epistemologi Islam bukan hanya tentang memahami teks, tetapi juga menjadi jalan menuju pembentukan peradaban yang rasional, adil, dan progresif. Kata Kunci: Epistemologi, M. Abstract

This study discusses the role of self-control from the perspective of Stoicism Philosophy on tolerance in students of the Islamic Aqidah and Philosophy study program at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, especially students of 2021. The purpose of this study is to determine the urgency of self-control in realizing tolerance, the role of self-control and self-control efforts in realizing tolerance and forms of tolerance in self-control in students of the Islamic Aqidah and Philosophy study program at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. This type of research is field research with researchers directly going into the field supported by primary and secondary data sources. The analysis technique used is the results of interviews that are described and then concluded. The conclusion of this study is the urgency of self-control in realizing tolerance by understanding the nature of existence as a social being. In addition, the role of self-control is very vital because it is used to minimize unwanted things. Efforts to control oneself to realize tolerance always reflect on oneself and are ready to mingle in every situation. The form of tolerance from self-control of students of the Islamic Aqidah and Philosophy study program at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang is being able to accept and be open. This is analyzed through the theory of Stoicism Philosophy which teaches Living in Harmony with Nature, Dichotomy of Control, and Being Able to Control Perception and Interpretation.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini menyelidiki penggunaan pemikiran kritis dalam filsafat Islam sebagai dasar untuk menilai dan mengevaluasi teori ekonomi kontemporer. Dalam tradisi Islam, pemikiran kritis tidak hanya berfokus pada penalaran logis, tetapi juga mencakup refleksi spiritual dengan menggabungkan akal dan wahyu sebagai sumber kebenaran yang saling melengkapi. Melalui pendekatan ini, ekonomi Islam mampu memberikan kritik mendalam terhadap asumsi dasar ekonomi modern, seperti konsep homo economicus, sekularisasi pengetahuan, serta orientasi materialistik yang menempatkan manusia sebagai makhluk rasional semata tanpa memperhitungkan dimensi moral, etis, dan transendental. Selain itu, penelitian ini mengulas landasan epistemologis ekonomi Islam yang bersumber dari wahyu, nalar, realitas sosial, serta pengalaman sejarah umat, sehingga melahirkan sistem pemikiran yang holistik dan humanistik. Etika, keadilan sosial, keberlanjutan, dan nilai kemaslahatan menjadi inti dalam praktik ekonomi Islam, berbeda dengan pendekatan konvensional yang cenderung menekankan efisiensi dan akumulasi kekayaan. Berdasarkan analisis literatur akademik, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa ekonomi Islam tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai kritik terhadap sistem global, tetapi juga menawarkan alternatif transformatif yang lebih adil, seimbang, dan selaras dengan tujuan kemanusiaan serta kebutuhan peradaban modern.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of examining the relevance of the Muslim philosopher Ibn Rushd’s thought in shaping the Islamic Malay identity in Riau, which is currently facing the challenges of globalization, modernization, and shifting cultural values. The main problem addressed in this research is how Ibn Rushd’s concept of rationality is understood and integrated into the formation of religious and cultural character within the Islamic Malay community in Riau. This research employs a library research method by analyzing Ibn Rushd’s works alongside scholarly literature related to the Islamic Malay identity. The findings reveal that Ibn Rushd’s idea of harmonizing reason and revelation aligns with the principle of “adat bersendikan syarak, syarak bersendikan Kitabullah” in the Riau Malay tradition. The rationality promoted by Ibn Rushd strengthens the intellectual framework of the Islamic Malay community, fostering a more moderate, critical, and responsive attitude toward contemporary challenges. In conclusion, Ibn Rushd’s thought significantly contributes to constructing an Islamic Malay identity rooted in Islamic values while remaining open to knowledge and modern intellectual developments. Abstract

The dichotomy between religion and science remains a significant epistemological issue in contemporary Islamic scholarship. Modern scientific paradigms, which tend to be positivistic and reductionist, often separate rational-empirical knowledge from revelation and spiritual dimensions. This article aims to analyze the integration of religion and science within the Islamic intellectual paradigm through a philosophical examination of the bayani, burhani, and irfani epistemological approaches. These three approaches represent the diversity of sources and methods of knowledge in the Islamic intellectual tradition, encompassing textual authority, rational-empirical reasoning, and intuitive-spiritual experience. This study employs a library research method with a philosophical-analytical approach, examining classical and contemporary works on Islamic epistemology and the discourse of knowledge integration. The findings indicate that the bayani approach plays a crucial role in preserving the authority of religious texts and normative frameworks, the burhani approach provides a systematic rational and empirical structure for scientific inquiry, and the irfani approach enriches knowledge with spiritual insight, ethical depth, and inner awareness. Rather than functioning hierarchically, these approaches are complementary and mutually reinforcing, forming a holistic, dialogical, and contextual paradigm of Islamic knowledge. Therefore, the integration of religion and science through the bayani, burhani, and irfani perspectives offers a philosophical foundation for developing an Islamic epistemology that balances empirical validity, rational coherence, and transcendental values in addressing contemporary intellectual and civilizational challenges.
