In the utilization of reason, man still does not fully use reason in accordance with his position and function. In fact, the problems that arise are increasingly complex so that the role of reason is needed. This study aims to combine the thoughts of Harun Nasution and Nurkholish Madjid on the Function of Reason in Islamic Modern Renewal Thinking. Type of library research (Library research). The form of data used is qualitative. The second source of data is primary data, in the form of all the works of Harun Nasution and Nurkholish Madjid related to the Function of Reason. While secondary data is in the form of books, journals, the internet and others related to research. Methods of data collection through documentation. Descriptive and comparative data analysis techniques. The results showed that in addition to similarities, positions also have a role related to differences in the function of reason according to Harun Nasution and Nurkholish Madjid. The position of reason according to Aaron Nasution as a basis or intermediary. Meanwhile, Nurkholish Madjid is positioned as a tool or means. It is from this position of reason that it will determine the function of reason. According to Harun Nasution and Nurkholish Madjid, reason is to function for thinking power that is able to seek truth and science so that it is able to progress in accordance with the times. Meanwhile, the difference in the function of reason from the two is caused by facing different problems. Harun Nasution explained the function of reason on the basis of a renewal of the mindset towards religion which is very closely related to dogma (Divinity and Society). Meanwhile, Nurkholish Madjid, the function of reason as a tool or means in the renewal of mindsets that are much related to the fields of Science and Science (Society). Ideally normal humans have the thought search for happiness. However, in Indonesia still show that phenomena of mental distress. Therefore, to get happiness, one must try to know the nature of happiness itself. This paper aims to describe: (1) The essence of happiness according to Hamka's thought; (2) The elements of happiness in Hamka's perspective; and (3) the relevance of the concept of happiness according to Hamka in the present context. This paper uses a qualitative approach in exploring the data. The content analysis approach is used to explore Hamka's thoughts on the philosophy of happiness. The primary data is taken from Hamka's book entitled: “Tasawuf Modern: Bahagia Itu Dekat dengan Kita, Ada di dalam Diri Kita.†While secondary data is taken from other relevant literature. The results of this study are: (1) According to Hamka, the essence of happiness is divided into three levels, namely: happiness in the afterlife, happiness of the mind, and happiness of the body. (2) The elements that make up human happiness are having: mindset, i’tikad, belief, faith, religion. (3) Hamka's thoughts about philosophy of happiness are still very relevant for overcoming mental distress in society. Keywords: Philosophy, Happiness, Hamka, Mental Distress.

The research purposes that’s philosophy is still a topic of debate among Islamic groups. Modern salafi group is one of them with their narrative of rejection of philosophy. The author quotes the writings of Yasid Bin Abdul Kadir Jawas mentioning agnostic and polytheistic groups originating from the Greeks such as Plato and his followers, Aristotle and his followers. They discuss Allah Ta'ala by referring to their limited and corrupted mind without any support from The Prophet. The aim of this research is to explain modern Indonesian salafi groups narration which forbid philosophy. This type of research is field research using a qualitative descriptive approach, which utilizes qualitative data and is described descriptively. The result of this research is modern Indonesian salafi group rejects philosophy through several aspects, the narration they build is too textual, such as everything that the Holy Qur'an commands must be followed, because they have an understanding that philosophy was born from the Greeks, and these people are polytheists. Under this condition, they forbid philosophy, both Greek philosophy and Islamic philosophy. Keywords: Narration, Philosophy forbidding, Indonesian Modern Salafi.

Abstract The problem of evil is one of the most powerful weapons that atheists always use to attack the existence of God taught by religions. The presence of the evil in life is a philosophical issue that challenges the beliefs of religious communities to reconcile the existence of God with the fact that there is evil in life. The theistic conception of God has raised a very difficult problem because God with all His greatness, should be able to create a world life that is far better than it is today. This problem of evil has challenged theologians as well as philosophers and discussed and led to serious and lengthy discussions to provide satisfactory answers and do not offend the justice of God. Theologians and philosophers want to show that the existence of evil and suffering are not contradictory, in other words consistent with the existence of God. Arguments that try to address this problem of ugliness are called theodicy. One of the philosophers as well as theologians who participates in discussing and contributing his theodicy thoughts in answering the problem of ugliness and its relation to divine justice is Murtadha Mutahhari. This article aims to describe Murtadha Mutahhari's theodicy views as an answer to the problem of evil. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. As a result, this research concludes several things; first, evil is non-existence; secondly, evil is relative; third, in a holistic view, evil has benefits that give meaning to this life. Salafi is an Islamic reform movement that claims to be a group that follows pure Islamic teachings such as salafu al-shalih. This group is referred to as Wahhabis by other groups, because this group is attributed to its founder, Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab. Of course, between followers and founders more or less have a correlation between the two in various aspects. The purpose of this study will examine how the correlation is using qualitative research, especially using library instruments and observation. Starting from his teachings, to his method of preaching. Furthermore, the data collected will be analyzed using a phenomenological and philosophical approach. Looking at previous studies that discussed only the correlation of teachings, and had not touched the realm of da'wah methods explicitly. Thus, efforts to correlate to the level of the method of preaching came to the fore. The results of this study conclude that the da'wah launched by the salafi movement is correlated with the doctrine of its founder, namely calling for pure Islam that returns to the Al-Qur'an and al-Sunnah. Not only that, the method of preaching was the same, namely through something that was very influential in their respective eras. If Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab went through the leaders, then the salafi movement in Indonesia today is through social media which can be seen by many people.

This study aims to present arguments for the existence of God from the perspective of philosophy and Sufism. These arguments simultaneously answer the confusion of the views of modern scientists who believe that all events and incidents in the universe do not need a hypothesis about God. By rational argumentation and witness, God is proven to exist. Vice versa, the conclusion of scientists that God does not exist based on empirical evidence contradicts with the rational law itself. Research on historical studies on the social structure of the Hadramaut Arab descent community in Surakarta in the 21st century. The Hadramaut descent community grows and develops which has specific social stratification in their life that is continuous from the past, present, to the future. The study of the ancestry of the Hadramaut Arab community in Surakarta was initiated from their grandparents to being inherited by their great-grandchildren. The process of cultural adaptation and acculturation that they carry out has changed and has survived until now. The historical approach to this research is people of Arab descent using descriptive qualitative methods and interviews with Arabs in Surakarta. As a result, the people of Hadramaut descent have developed from the land of their birth and were brought down to the overseas lands where they live in Surakarta for generations. Islamization of science is an effort to integrate Islamic principles, values, and views into various fields of science and education. This effort is also a prevention of the spread of Westernization in education, culture and morals. Westernization refers to the influence of the culture or lifestyle of western countries on other societies or nations outside the western region. With the swift flow of technology, the westrenization element enters and hegemonizes the area outside of it until the human population in the world often follows it. The purpose of this research is to reveal and present Islamic sciences from various fields that have been contaminated with western culture. The method used is descriptive analysis where the data obtained is then described and explained with a series of sentences with actual conditions. The results of this study indicate that the importance of Islamization in stemming the current of wetrenisation that has affected aspects of life, especially in the fields of science and education.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the concept of Murtadha Muthahari's Islamic Moral Philosophy and to analyze the thoughts of Murtadha Muthahari's Islamic Moral Philosophy on the moral development of the fostered children at LPKA Class II Tanjung Pati.In this study, the type of research used is qualitative research that combines library research and field research. The research approach used in the literature study is a philosophical approach. The approach for field studies is to use an empirical research approach. The researcher used descriptive qualitative research. The results of this study are, first, Murtadha Muthahari's concept of Islamic moral philosophy explains how the concept of Islamic moral philosophy is that the introduction of God is the most basic concept of moral action. Humanity and morals will have no meaning without being accompanied by the introduction of God. Thus moral awareness is synonymous with Divine consciousness, which is further included in the category of worship. Second, one of the related forms of thought in Islamic moral philosophy in the view of Murtadha Muthahari is that moral awareness is synonymous with Divine consciousness. by worshiping Allah and getting closer to Allah with the aim of forming an awareness of the moral actions of the fostered children to become even better deeds based on the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah. The need for awareness of moral actions, will determine how the manner or attitude of the fostered child in acting in accordance with the development of an increasingly advanced era.
