Abstract

Background: Cholesterol is the most well-known sterol. The body produces two types of cholesterol, namely good cholesterol or High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) and bad cholesterol or Low-density Lipoprotein. Both types of cholesterol are needed by the body, but hypercholesterolemia occurs when there is too much cholesterol in the blood. Many people consume food without considering what compounds are in the food, one of which is cholesterol levels. Hypercholesterolemia is a risk factor for death at a young age and plays an important role in the occurrence of atherosclerosis, which is a degenerative process and a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Objective: To describe, determine the levels before and after, and the effect of dry cupping therapy on reducing cholesterol levels in hypercholesterolemia patients. Method: This case study design is presented descriptively with the aim of describing how the application of dry cupping therapy reduced cholesterol levels in three patients who experienced hypercholesterolemia. Results: The dry cupping therapy intervention which was carried out for seven days interspersed with three days intervals resulted in dry cupping therapy being able to reduce cholesterol levels with an average result before the intervention of 255 mg/dL and after three interventions became 199 mg/dL. On average, the three respondents experienced a decrease in cholesterol levels, namely 56 mg/dL. Conclusion: The application of dry cupping therapy given for seven days interspersed with intervals of three days can have an effect on reducing cholesterol levels in hypercholesterolemia.

Abstract

Patients with pulmonary tuberculosis can be at risk of bronchial obstruction due to secretions or secretions that collect and shallow breathing due to pain, which can cause atelectasis and decreased Peak Expiratory Flow Rate (PEFR) in pulmonary TB patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between PEFR in pulmonary TB patients at the Kramat Jati Health Center. This type of research uses correlation analytic observation using cross-sectional design and data analysis using Chi Square and Sperman rank methods. The sample in this study were 50 respondents at the TB Poly Kramat Jati Health Center and were collected using total sampling. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that gender was associated with PEFR in pulmonary TB patients with a p value=0.016 p <0.05 and work was associated with PEFR in pulmonary TB patients with a p value=0.007 p <0.05, age was unrelated to PEFR in pulmonary TB patients with a p value=0.412 and so was BMI with a p value=0.509. Suggestion: for more in-depth matters related to PEFR in pulmonary TB patients can be seen in terms of environmental factors or the physical condition of the patient.

Abstract

Abstract

Postoperative pain management is very important to be carried out comprehensively to overcome nursing problems such as pain problems. Relaxation techniques are independent nursing interventions to reduce pain intensity, improve lung ventilation and increase blood oxygenation. The act of deep breath for relaxation is easy to learn and contributes to lowering or relieving pain by reducing muscle pressure and anxiety. This study aims to determine the effect of using deep breathing relaxation techniques on changes in pain intensity in post-op caesarean section patients at Budhi Asih Hospital. This study used a quantitative design with a Pretest-Posttest One Group Intervention Design. The population in this study werepost-op caesarean section patients at Budhi Asih Hospital. The sample in this study was 17 respondents. The sampling technique was consecutive sampling. The instrument used Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The results showed that before the application of the deep breath relaxation technique, almost all respondents (94.1%) experienced moderate pain intensity. After the application of the technique, most of the respondents (64.7%) still experienced pain intensity of the same scale.Based on statistical tests with the Wilcoxon signed ran test, the p-value is 0.000 <a=0.05 (0.000<0.05), which means that there is an Effect of Using Deep Breathing Relaxation Techniques on Changes in Pain Intensity in Post-Op Sectio Caesarea Patients at Budhi Asih Hospital. Suggestions for health workers with this study are expected to be able to implement deep breathing relaxation techniques to reduce pain in post-op sectio caesarea patients.
