Abstract

This study aims to determine Fishermen's perceptions of cash transfers in Kalumpangloe Village, Arungkeke District, Jeneponto Regency during the pandemic. This research was conducted from February to March 2021 in Kalumpangloe Village, Arungkeke District, Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi. The method that we used is Non-Probability Sampling. The data source that we used are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis method used in this research is quantitative and qualitative. Meanwhile, for quantitative data analysis, the Likerts scale was used to determine the fishermen's perception of cash transfer. Cash transfers implementation mechanism starts from the stage of socialization, data verification, information, disbursement and evaluation. Perceptions of fishermen in Kalumpang Loe Village, Jeneponto Regency, obtained through 4 indicators, it's known that the village community considers that cash transfers is very useful as assistance to provides their necessities, but they didn't use to provides business fund. The process of sending cash transfers was not filled the promised time and the target, and also the target of cash transfers recipients that is set by the government already reaches it's target. The allocation of cash transfers by the people of Kalumpangloe Village is as much as 55% for food needs, 8% for clothing needs, 4% for housing needs, 14% used as bussines fund, 17% used for children's education costs, and 2% for other allocations. Where the amount of cash transfers funds is IDR 300,000/month.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence fresh fish purchasing decisions and determine the characteristics of fresh fish consumers at TPI Paotere during the Covid-19 pandemic, Makassar City using the factor analysis method. This research was conducted at Paotere Fish Auction Place in Makassar City from March to April 2021. The sampling method uses nonprobability sampling technique with accidental sampling method with a sample size of 100 respondents. The data analysis used is factor analysis and the KMO and Barlett's Test. The results showed that there are 6 dominant factors consisting of 18 variables that influence the decision to buy fresh fish at TPI Paotere during the Covid-19 pandemic. The dominant factors influencing fresh fish purchase decisions at TPI Paotere during the Covid-19 pandemic consist of personal factors consisting of lifestyle variables, role and status in the family, price, social class standards, easy payment, and habits; Covid-19 pandemic factors consisting of supply variables during the pandemic, New Normal, and nutritional needs during the pandemic; location factors consisting of the largest fish market variables, fish quality, convenient location; and diversity of fish types, social environment factors consisting of family influence and friend influence variables; respondent characteristics factors consisting of age and occupation / position variables; and service factors consisting of service variables.

Abstract

Jakarta Bay is one of the important waters in Indonesia that plays a major role in economic activities, shipping, defense, and coastal tourism. Therefore, field observations and numerical modeling with Mike 21 are needed to determine the pattern of tidal current movement. Field observations of currents and tides were carried out for 15 days at the marina beach where the observation data will later be processed using the admiralty method to determine the harmonic component and tidal type and the observation data is used to validate the data from the MIKE 21 modeling simulation. The tidal validation results got an RMSE value of 0.13 with a correlation of 0.95 and the current validation results got an RMSE value of 0.05 with a correlation of 0.14.

Abstract

This study examines the perceptions of small-scale fishers in coastal areas and small islands of Pangkep Regency towards the impacts of climate change. The impacts of climate change experienced by fishers include unpredictable changes in weather patterns, increased sea temperatures, and unpredictable fishing seasons, which overall reduce catches and increase safety risks at sea. The research was conducted for 6 months from May to October 2024. The research was conducted in Pangkep District, South Sulawesi. The research location was purposively selected to illustrate the condition of fishermen who are directly affected by climate change. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews, direct observation, questionnaires, and literature studies. The number of samples in this study were 50 fishermen with the criteria of small fishermen who have a ship/boat capacity of 0-10 GT. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The qualitative approach allows researchers to explore fishermen's subjective perceptions of the impacts of climate change. Most fishers reported a decrease in catches due to changes in fish migration thought to be related to rising seawater temperatures, which forced them to go further out to sea and incur greater operational costs. In addition, climate change is resulting in extreme weather that often poses accident risks for fishers, while limited access to weather information and technology hinders their adaptation. This suggests the need for adaptation policies, such as climate training and improved access to weather information for small-scale fishers, to strengthen their resilience to climate change.
