Abstract

The presence of digital technology offers various opportunities to enrich learning, including in Pancasila Education. Likewise, the rapid development of technology opens up wider opportunities for researchers to design storybooks by integrating technology into them. Digital technology can facilitate a more interactive, collaborative, and life-relevant learning process for students, so that Pancasila values are not only understood cognitively but also internalized and applied in everyday life. A digital storybook is a combination of a physical storybook and digital technology. Storybooks that initially only consisted of images and narrative text can now have audio, music, and other features. The research method used is research and development (R&D) adopting the 4D development model ( Define, Design, Development, Dissimilate ). However, in this study the researcher only reached the Dissimilate stage. The population in this study were fourth grade students of SDMuhammadiyah 18 Medan, with a total of 22 students, 8 male students and 14 female students. The main instruments in this development were the Validation Questionnaire Sheet and the Practical Questionnaire Sheet. The results of this study indicate that the Digital Storybook media on the material of Respect Attitude is declared valid and practical. The level of validity and practicality of the Digital Storybook media is seen based on the assessment by the Media Validator obtained a value of "96%", the Material Validator "90%", the Language Validator "95%", and the results of the media practicality assessment by the teacher showed a value of "95%" which means the media is "Appropriate" to be used in learning media. Then the assessment of the results of the media practicality by students is "88.9 % " with the criteria of "Very Valid", which means the media is "Appropriate" to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive flipbook-based E-Module on the material of norms in society for second-grade students of Mayjend Sutoyo Elementary School, SM Medan, and to determine its feasibility and practicality. The background of this study is based on the dominance of teacher-centered learning, the limited use of learning media, and the low understanding of students on the material of norms that tend to be abstract. Therefore, innovative, interactive learning media are needed, and are in accordance with the characteristics of elementary school students who are at the concrete operational stage. The method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D development model that includes the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages, but this study is limited to the develop stage. The research subjects were second-grade students of Mayjend Sutoyo Elementary School, SM Medan. The research instruments were validation questionnaires by media experts, language experts, and material experts, as well as teacher and student response questionnaires to measure the practicality of the product. The results of the study indicate that the developed flipbook-based interactive E-Module has a very high level of feasibility, with a validation percentage of media experts of 96%, language experts of 100%, and material experts of 95% which is included in the very valid category. In addition, the results of the practicality test showed a teacher response of 100% and a student response of 88% with a very practical category. Thus, the flipbook-based interactive E-Module is declared feasible and practical to be used as a learning medium. This media is able to increase student interest, involvement, and understanding, so it can be an alternative effective learning medium in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation process and analyze the improvement of literacy skills of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 067248 Medan through the use of educational comic media assisted by the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model. The main problem in this study is the low interest in reading and the ability to understand students' texts caused by the dominance of conventional methods. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles, including the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects consisted of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 067248 Medan in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through literacy learning outcome tests (quantitative) and activity observation sheets (qualitative). The results of the study indicate that the integration of visual and communicative educational comic media with TPS syntax (thinking independently, pairing, and sharing) is able to create an interactive learning atmosphere. There was a significant increase in students' literacy skills from the pre-cycle to the second cycle which met the classical success indicator of 75%. The conclusion of this study is that the use of educational comic media assisted by the TPS model is effective in improving literacy skills and student learning activities in elementary schools.
