Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the influence of operational efficiency, liquidity, and profitability on capital structure in manufacturing companies operating in the basic and chemical industry sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2021–2023 period. The analysis was conducted using panel data regression, with the Fixed Effect model selected based on the results of the Chow and Hausman tests. The research sample consisted of 32 companies that met the criteria, and data analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential statistical approaches. The findings indicate that operational efficiency does not have a significant impact on capital structure. In contrast, liquidity has a significant negative effect, suggesting that companies with high liquidity levels tend to rely on internal funding sources rather than external financing. Meanwhile, profitability has a significant positive effect on capital structure, indicating that highly profitable firms are more likely to opt for external financing. The regression model used explains 30.89% of the variation in capital structure, with a statistically significant F-statistic. The validity and reliability of the model were confirmed through multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity tests. Overall, the study concludes that operational efficiency does not directly influence capital structure, whereas liquidity and profitability play significant roles in financing decisions. The implications of these findings offer strategic guidance for corporate management in formulating financing strategies based on a company’s liquidity position and profitability level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping students' tolerance character at SMK Binawiyata Sragen. Using a qualitative approach, this study examines the role of PAI teachers as facilitators, educators, coaches, and evaluators in instilling tolerance. PAI teachers not only deliver religious materials, but also guide students in understanding and applying tolerance values, both within the scope of the same religion and interfaith. The results showed that at SMK Binawiyata Sragen, religious tolerance is realized through mutual respect despite differences in sects, especially in Islam. Meanwhile, tolerance is implemented by respecting religious freedom, not imposing beliefs, and maintaining social harmony in the school environment. Islamic Education teachers play a strategic role in shaping student character through inclusive learning, a wise approach, and exemplary attitudes and behaviors. With Islamic value-based character education, students are expected to appreciate differences, maintain unity, and live harmoniously in a diverse society. This study confirms the importance of the role of PAI teachers in creating a learning environment that supports the formation of students' tolerance character.

Abstract

The transformation of the digital economy has given rise to a new work model known as the gig economy, where app-based jobs like online motorcycle taxis (ojol) are rapidly growing. Behind the narrative of flexibility and partnership offered, there lies a work relationship that creates structural inequalities between platform companies and workers. This research uses Karl Marx's social conflict theory approach to analyze the hidden forms of exploitation behind the digital work system. Through literature review and critical discourse analysis, it was found that digital communication run by platforms is one-way, relies on algorithms, and creates unequal power relations. Ojol workers do not have control over digital production tools (applications), which places them in a subordinate position. Moreover, the use of the term "partner" has proven to be an ideological instrument to cover up the inequalities in labor relations. This research concludes that the gig economy in the context of online motorcycle taxis reproduces a new form of class exploitation, with communication as a covert tool of domination. The implications of these findings emphasize the importance of fair regulation and the strengthening of worker collectives in facing platform-based work models.

Abstract

Development in the lake boundary area is a complex issue because it involves legal, environmental, and spatial planning policy aspects. The granting of Building Permits (PGB) in this area must consider applicable regulations in order to maintain a balance between development interests and protection of the lake ecosystem. This study aims to analyze how local governments grant building permits on lake boundaries and formulate ideal concepts in arranging development in the area in order to realize sustainable ecological protection. This study uses a normative legal approach with a qualitative descriptive analysis method. Data were obtained through a study of laws and regulations governing development in the lake boundary area, such as Law Number 28 of 2002 concerning Buildings, Law Number 26 of 2007 concerning Spatial Planning, and various other derivative regulations. In addition, this study also examines the implementation of PGB policies in several regions to identify obstacles in their implementation. The results of the study indicate that the granting of PGB in the lake boundary area still faces various challenges, such as weak supervision, lack of synchronization of regulations between the central and regional governments, and low awareness of the environmental impacts of development in the area. Therefore, an ideal concept is needed that integrates legal, spatial planning, and environmental sustainability aspects in the policy of granting PGB in the lake border area. The ideal concept in this study includes strengthening regulations and coordination between the central and regional governments, increasing transparency in the PGB granting process, and implementing ecology-based policies to maintain the sustainability of the lake border area. It is hoped that the PGB granting policy can be an effective instrument in maintaining the balance between development and environmental protection in the lake border area in Indonesia.

Abstract

The repositioning of the Religious Court in handling Islamic banking bankruptcy cases in Indonesia is still a topic of discussion in the community. This is inseparable from the fact that there is still a difference between regulation and reality. Given that so far the resolution of Islamic banking bankruptcy disputes is still the field of authority of the Commercial Court, which should and should have been resolved under the authority of the Religious Court. Many broad and complex dimensions become the benchmark for why bankruptcy in Islamic banking should be resolved under the Religious Court, there are at least three aspects that can be studied, namely, covering philosophical, sociological, and juridical aspects. This research aims to analyse the philosophical, sociological and juridical bases of the repositioning and its implications for legal protection for debtors and creditors in Islamic banking insolvency cases. Philosophically, this repositioning seeks to uphold the principle of justice contained in Islamic law, where the principle of al-adl (justice) is the basis for resolving economic cases, including in the context of Islamic banking. From a sociological perspective, this repositioning is a response to public demand for a legal system that better reflects sharia values. Juridically, this repositioning is based on existing regulations, namely Law No. 3 of 2006 on Religious Courts and Law No. 21 of 2008 on Islamic Banking and Supreme Court Regulation (Perma) No.14 of 2016 on Procedures for Settling Sharia Economic Disputes, which gives the Religious Courts the authority to handle sharia economic cases. The implications of this repositioning include better legal protection for debtors and creditors, increased accountability and transparency in settlements, and increased legal certainty in the Islamic banking sector. This repositioning is expected to strengthen the integration between sharia law and state law, create a fairer, more transparent, and equitable justice system for all parties involved, and increase public confidence in the Islamic banking system in Indonesia.
