Abstract

Leadership is more than just a skill-set to direct and solve complex problems but also a way of transforming the life of a nation. The power of a leader can be seen from the impact of the people that he leads and the sustainability of the organization. A good leader is one that not only possesses the ability to transcend people to be and do better, but also positively influences them to use their power to contribute for a greater good.  The role of a leader has become more evident during the time of crisis. Every decision creates multiple different outcomes and impacts. A leader must not only provide effective strategic moves, but also a safe-space to emotionally support the people he leads in overcoming the crisis. When a leader is absent or embodies poor leadership, the organization will not survive. Therefore, the power of a true leader lies within his own characters and the ability to navigate the crisis and transform it to the people that he leads. Understanding this importance of leadership has urged Pemimpin.id to navigate the values of inclusive, effective, and empowering leadership for a greater good and sustainable impact in Indonesia.

Abstract

Garbage is one of the big problems in many countries including Indonesia. A bad waste management and low awareness of people participating in sorting the trash are 2 obstacles that we face in daily life. However, if we can ask them to sort the trash properly, they will not only help the waste collector, but also improve the waste management in the country. That encourages us to develop a mobile application that helps people to identify the type of the trash they have so that they can sort it by themselves. This application applies image processing and VGG16 algorithm to identify the trash with accuracy 90%. Furthermore, this application also links them to an appropriate agency that can recycle their trash based on its type. Therefore, the waste sorting process will be easier and recycling is also faster.

Abstract

Slum areas have always been a concern in development planning. In fact, this has become one of the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Sustainable Cities and Communities. According to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), in the coming decades, 828 million people are estimated to live in urban slums and this number will continue to increase. While in Indonesia, there are slum areas covering an area of 86,548 hectares, 28% of which are located on the island of Sumatra. Palembang, one of the big cities in Sumatra, also faces the problem of slum settlements in its urban area, which is 3,607 hectares. This study aims to determine the level of slums in the residential area in Kertapati District which is included in the slum area in Palembang City and furthermore, recommends the concept of land management as a solution to these problems. The variables used in this study consisted of the physical variables of settlements, basic infrastructure and land ownership. Data on building density, building layout and building construction are used to describe the physical variables of settlements. While the basic infrastructure variables are explained by data on clean water infrastructure, solid waste infrastructure, drainage infrastructure, residential road infrastructure and sanitation infrastructure. For the variable of land ownership, data on status and land ownership are used. The data was obtained through Sentinel 2A satellite imagery in 2022 and from conducting field surveys and in-depth interviews with several local residents. Furthermore, the data was analyzed using a map overlay-based scoring of each variable using a Geographic Information Systems. The results of this study obtained a map of each variable level of settlement slums and a map of the slum level of settlements in Kertapati District with the level of settlement slums divided into light slum classes in 2 villages with a percentage of 11.51%, medium slum class in 1 village with a percentage of 35.96% and heavy slum class in 3 villages covering 52.53% of the total area of Kertapati District. This shows that the settlements in Kertapati District are dominated by heavy class slums, so this study recommends the concept of Land Consolidation land management with the Land Readjustment approach as an alternative to handling slum areas in Kertapati District, Palembang City.

Abstract

Information-based technology is one form of the era that is always there and provides benefits, namely facilitating the activities of all levels of society, including children. Internet or cyberspace is another name for information-based technology, the reach of the internet itself is wide, and therefore even minors can access it. Child grooming is a type of crime that is either the result of the expansion of cyber-crime grooming or an approach to deception. The mode used by the perpetrator in carrying out grooming is by starting to build a relationship with the victim, then creating the victim's trust in the perpetrator, the birth of the victim's trust in the perpetrator because of the emotional relationship that exists between the victim and the perpetrator. This study wants to analyze how the practice of sexual crimes during the covid -19 pandemic in Indonesia and how the role of the ITE Law in protecting children as victims of crime during the covid-19 pandemic. The method used by the author is juridical-normative. The results obtained are that the practice of child grooming crimes during the COVID- 19 pandemic in Indonesia tends to increase, this is due to the intensity of using gadgets on children more than before the pandemic, and this is due to the government's policy, namely distance learning.

Abstract

Tourism is one of the important aspects in terms of increasing income in an area as well as people's welfare. The presence of a well-managed tourism area will improve the welfare of the community. Indonesia has a region that is very rich in tourism, but it is unfortunate that in Indonesia there are still obstacles in the information system so that tourists have difficulty in finding tourist attractions and facilities located in the area. Although Indonesia already has a relatively comprehensive online search, Indonesia does not fully help with access, accommodation cost planning for traveling. This made us have the idea to create a My Journey application for travel planning and guidance . This application is very appropriate to be applied in this moment of the modern era because technological advancements require us to do everything through digital. Development of digital applications My Journey By using GPS and DFD (Data Flow Diagram) Design Method to facilitate the service of the application. The My Journey application is equipped with location routes and accommodation advice to get to tourist attractions, especially accommodation access using public transportation so that tourists can easily go to tourist attractions with the help of the My Journey application. In this, My Journey application will help the tourists in manage and arrange travel tour planning following the needs that are needed. In addition, this application also provides an online souvenir sales service for MSME development and ticket purchase as well as providing rental services for vehicles, equipment, and other things that support online in one application . With this application, it is expected that both local and international tourists will find it easy to get information about the tours visited, as well as a form of tourism promotion in Indonesia.

Abstract

Complexity in the circular economy concept enforced the integration of disciplines and a holistic approach to engender the implementation. A breakdown to bring a circular economy project to a level of market presumably provides the contribution toward the circular economy prospect. Problem identification is a deficiency in consumer behavior discovery. The objective of the research is to discover the characteristics through demographic analysis as well as to assess the association of attitude and perception toward the circular economy objective. The case is specified in Germany since it introduced effective waste management regarding a cyclical process. The conceptual framework is a model of factors influencing decision-making issued by the European Commission and a model of the Tri-component attitude. The data analysis method is quantitative by adopting a method of Cross tabulation with Chi-Square and Structural Equation Modeling. The findings demonstrated low demand for a circular economy market, price and quality are the highest indicators while buying a product, old adulthood and female respondents tended to put more concern on waste issues, and an increase in willingness to spend more in finance on eco-friendly products positively would rise the intention of engaging in the social and environmental context. This observation is relevant for SDGs objectives.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the big producers of agricultural products in the world. Agriculture sector plays an important role in the national economic development structure. However, the proportion of young farmers (ages 20 to 30 years old) is only 8% of the farmer population (BPS, 2019). Majority proportion comes from old people with age interval from 50 to 60 years old. (Taufik Leoni, 2020). Based on our case study in Purwokerto, the problem that is often found by old age farmers is the reduced ability to see and recognize plant diseases. Furthermore, they also face the difficulty to follow the development of agricultural science so that some of their knowledge is outdated. That encourages us to make a mobile application to identify plant disease and connect them with scientists. Since the majority of farmers in Purwokerto plant tomatoes, we limit this research for tomato disease only. After studying some related previous research, we found most of them used a deep structure of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to reach a high accuracy. However, since our aim is to make daily use technology for old people, a high complexity model does not fit for this case. Therefore, we proposed our own CNN model with less complexity but got 89% accuracy. For future works, we plan to develop it for the other plants and hope it will help all farmers to do quality control, especially for the old age farmers.

Abstract

The Sultanate of Buton whose Sultan is called khalifatul khamis was formed in 1332 and became one of the past Islamic civilizations. Historically, the land of the royal city center was discovered, pioneered and built by four groups of immigrants from Johor. In addition to its interactions with local neighboring kingdoms in the archipelago and several European countries, the city of the Sultanate of Buton was once occupied by the kings of Mecca, Arabs, and Turkish rulers who also controlled the city. The results of the study found that several relics can be found in this area, including three city forts built on a hilly landscape, namely (1) Fort Kotana Wolio, (2) Fort Kotana Sorawolio, and (3) Fort Kotana Baadia. In position, these three forts have a unique arrangement and character that forms a triangular pattern. The triangular pattern places the Kotana Wolio Fort - Buton Palace like the Imam and the Kotana Baadia Fort and the Kotana Sorawolio Fort as the Ma'mum, all of which face west as if they were praying facing the Kaaba. Thus, during the sultanate, the function of the city fort was for defense and interconnectivity between forts that became strategic and effective. Especially in the historical context of the old city, it will be difficult to understand because of its complexity. In this paper, with reference to the historical aspects and artifacts of the existing forts, the discussion is to identify the order (position and layout, distance between forts, and urban land area), orientation patterns, public infrastructure, and runways. philosophy. Data collection methods used include field surveys, tracing of original manuscripts, and interviews with traditional leaders. For aerial photos, satellite images downloaded from Google earth are used, and other supporting materials from the results of previous studies are also used. Next, the collected data were analyzed and synthesized. In fact, every city fort is a residential area and Wolio City is the center and area of the first fort built; Thus, this paper is expected to contribute to sustainable urban planning or become a mirror for the formation of new cities.
