Abstract

Garbage is one of the big problems in many countries including Indonesia. A bad waste management and low awareness of people participating in sorting the trash are 2 obstacles that we face in daily life. However, if we can ask them to sort the trash properly, they will not only help the waste collector, but also improve the waste management in the country. That encourages us to develop a mobile application that helps people to identify the type of the trash they have so that they can sort it by themselves. This application applies image processing and VGG16 algorithm to identify the trash with accuracy 90%. Furthermore, this application also links them to an appropriate agency that can recycle their trash based on its type. Therefore, the waste sorting process will be easier and recycling is also faster.

Abstract

Background: Child health is essential for human resource development, especially in communities with limited health services. One preventive measure that can be taken to maintain genital hygiene is circumcision. This preventive measure reduces the risk of urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted diseases. However, to carry out child circumcision independently, there are some financial problems in Cahaya Baru Village, Jejangkit District, Barito Kuala Regency. Methods: This activity involved children from Cahaya Baru Village. Participant screening, health instructions, circumcision procedures carried out by medical professionals, post-procedure medication administration, and medication use instructions were all methods used in the implementation. The Indonesian Red Crescent (BSMI) of South Kalimantan, the Barito Kuala District Health Office, the Jejangkit District Health Center, and the Cahaya Baru Village government were involved in this project. Results and discussion: Forty participants successfully received a safe and controlled circumcision procedure. Before the procedure, all participants underwent a screening process and received health instructions. There were no significant complications post-circumcision, and all participants received pain relievers and antibiotics for healing. In addition, DAGUSIBU training increased community understanding of proper drug use. Active participation of various parties ensured that activities ran smoothly and increased synergy in community-based health services. Conclusion: Mass circumcision activities in Cahaya Baru Village showed that multi-sector collaboration-based programs can improve community access to basic health services. This program was successful thanks to participation, trained medical personnel, and health education. Similar efforts are expected to be carried out sustainably to increase the positive effects on community health welfare.

Abstract

The research focuses on Islamic religious education learning methods to improve the intellectual and spiritual intelligence of students at the Takhassus Al-Qur'an Vocational School. This research is a qualitative study using a case study approach. Data were collected in a natural setting as a direct source of data, namely from Islamic Religious Education teachers, and then analyzed descriptively. The findings show that the learning methods used in Islamic religious education at SMK Takhassus Al-Qur'an are highly varied, including: inquiry learning, discovery learning, nature contemplation, assignments, discussions, gallery walks, and practical work. This diversity has resulted in improving students' intellectual intelligence. This success is reflected in the students' increased ability to read, memorize, and analyze various materials presented by the teacher. Although the process encountered several obstacles that prevented this improvement from proceeding as expected by the teacher, the variety of learning methods has produced students with good spiritual intelligence. This is indicated by students' polite behavior towards teachers, staff, and their peers. This increase in spiritual intelligence does not arise solely from the Islamic religious education learning process. Rather, it is the accumulation of learning methods that foster understanding and a school environment that supports the development of spiritual intelligence.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of impaired growth and development in children due to chronic nutritional disorders or infections. The risk factor for stunting is dominated by disease during 1000 days of life. The incidence of stunting in Indonesia is 21.6%, according to the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) results. This study aimed to identify stunting biomarkers based on the priority scoring of gene variants. Identification of stunting risk genes used the Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) approach and Haploreg v4.1. We found 33 genes that identifies as stunting risk gene. And then, we prioritize based on two functional annotation categories: missense-nonsense and cis-expression quantitative trait loci (cis-eQTL). Our analysis found 4 genes as biological stunting risk genes: MTRR, TTF1, CASP1, and CARD17. This research demonstrates the integration of genomic variants and bioinformatics approaches to reveal biological insights for stunting.

Abstract

Economic growth is measured through various indicators that can depict the economy of a region. The purpose of this research is to seek knowledge about the influence of regional original income (PAD), investment, and transfer funds on public expenditure, as well as the economic development of East Java for the period 2017-2021. The method used is quantitative descriptive, and path analysis is employed on panel data. The research is conducted using secondary data obtained from the Ministry of Finance and BKPM, which includes time series data for the period 2017 to 2021 and cross-sectional data consisting of 38 cities/districts, hence referred to as panel data. The results of the research indicate that the variables of regional original income (PAD) and transfer funds have a significant influence on public spending. However, the investment variable does not have a significant impact on public expenditure. Regional original income and investment have a significant impact on economic growth. On the other hand, public spending and transfer funds do not significantly affect economic growth.

Abstract

Background: The first-line chemotherapy drug for breast cancer is cisplatin. However, it shows a high incidence of resistance. Therefore, Hibiscus Sabdariffa L (HS), containing strong anticancer compounds, was developed using a self-nano-emulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS), potentially as cisplatin co-chemotherapy. This study aimed to develop the HS SNEDDS providing anticancer activity against T47D breast cancer cells. Methods: Development of HS SNEDDS (F1-F7) with various surfactant and co-surfactant concentrations was carried out, followed by characterization of HS SNEDDS. The selected formulation was performed regarding the cytotoxicity on T47D cells and selectivity on Vero cells. Results: F7 as a selected formulation indicated a transmittance, globule size, PI, zeta potential, and emulsification time of 97.80%, 15.68 ± 0.19 nm, 0.12 ± 0.01, -8.05 ± 1.88 mV, and 24.76 ± 0.29 seconds, respectively. Furthermore, the IC50 of HS extract, HS SNEDDS, and Cisplatin on T47D cells were 0.37 ± 0.02, 0.24 ± 0.02, and 0.01 ± 0.001 mg/mL The selectivity index (SI) of HS SNEDDS and cisplatin were 108101.25 and 8351.84, respectively. Conclusion: HS SNEDDS providing the required characteristics could be obtained, and potentially be used as a co-chemotherapy of cisplatin, showing the cytotoxic effect on T47D breast cancer cells.

Abstract

Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disease involving the neuromuscular junction, mainly influenced by antibodies to acetylcholine receptors. In addition, antibodies to Muscle-Specific Kinase (MUSK), Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor-Related Protein 4 (LRP4). It is essential to determine publication trends regarding Myasthenia gravis because, currently, there are no studies that describe Myasthenia gravis publication trends related to genes in this field of study. Bibliometric analysis is used to see research trends, including frequently used keywords, most published journals, most cited publishers, author agencies, and collaboration between authors depicted in visualization using the VOSViewer application. Bibliometric analysis shows that the research trend is increasing from 1969 to 2023. The most frequently used keywords are myasthenia gravis, human, autoimmune disease, genetics, and article. The leading information related to the data is that the average annual publication is 5.89%, and the average citation for documents is 13.9%. Indonesia, as one of the countries experiencing Myasthenia gravis, has excellent potential to increase the number of research articles, which can be a means of exchanging knowledge, ideas, and technology and also has the potential for collaboration with other countries
