Abstract

Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) is a critical predictor of future stroke, yet it is frequently underrecognized due to its transient and often mild neurological manifestations. This literature review aims to synthesize clinical and technological approaches for early screening and detection of TIA, emphasizing strategies aligned with timely intervention and stroke prevention. A systematic search was conducted across PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, identifying 94 articles. Following PRISMA guidelines, 10 studies were selected based on inclusion criteria related to early detection, emergency response, and digital health interventions. The analysis yielded three major themes: (1) the clinical relevance of early recognition of subtle neurological symptoms, (2) the role of emergency medical services and prehospital screening tools, and (3) the emergence of mobile health (mHealth) and telemedicine platforms in supporting early TIA detection. Findings indicate that while TIA symptoms are transient, they signal a significant risk of subsequent stroke, underscoring the need for prompt and accurate assessment. Technological innovations such as mobile applications and teleconsultation enhance traditional diagnostic methods but face challenges in implementation, including disparities in digital access and limited public awareness. In conclusion, integrating clinical vigilance with scalable technological solutions holds promise for improving early TIA detection, particularly in resource limited or remote settings. It is recommended that health systems invest in training emergency responders and adopt validated digital tools into prehospital protocols. Future research should focus on clinical validation and real-world integration of mHealth platforms to support global stroke prevention efforts.

Abstract

Pregnancy anemia is a condition where the hemoglobin level in the blood falls below normal due to a decrease in the number of erythrocytes or hemoglobin, thereby reducing the blood's ability to carry oxygen to the vital organs of the mother and fetus. The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of a combination of iron (Fe) tablets and dates in addressing anemia. This research uses a case study approach, which aims to explore a phenomenon in depth within clearly defined boundaries. Data were comprehensively collected from various sources and documented using the SOAP method (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan), providing a complete understanding of the case involving the respondent. The main focus of this study is on the phenomena arising from complaints and examination results during the period of midwifery care. The study was conducted on Mrs. DN at 38 weeks of gestation with moderate anemia, and the intervention provided consisted of the consumption of Fe tablets and 7 dates per day for 14 days. The results of the 2-week intervention showed successful outcomes for moderate pregnancy anemia, with an increase in hemoglobin levels from 9.2 g% to 9.9 g%. The case analysis established is Mrs. DN at 38 weeks of gestation with moderate anemia. The conclusion of this study is that the combination of Fe tablets and 7 dates per day for 14 days is effective as an intervention for managing moderate pregnancy anemia.

Abstract

Late-term pregnancy is defined as a pregnancy that has reached 41 weeks and 6 days or more, which includes the risk of oligohydramnios. Proper management of late-term pregnancy is essential through labor induction to reduce the risks of morbidity and mortality. This study aims to analyze Midwifery care for pregnant women with late-term pregnancy and oligohydramnios. This study utilized a case study methodology with a thorough midwifery care approach for one patient. Data collection involved interviews, observations, physical assessments, and documentation reviews. The data were analyzed following the midwifery process steps: assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The case study was conducted with Mrs. R, who showed no signs of labor. A diagnosis was made of G3P2OO3 at a gestational age of 41-42 weeks, characterized by late-term pregnancy and intrauterine live fetal oligohydramnios. The intervention involved referring the patient to the hospital for labor induction. The evaluation revealed that the cesarean section was successful, and both the mother and baby were healthy after the delivery. This case highlights the significance of early detection and sound decision-making in managing overdue pregnancies to mitigate the risks of complications for both mother and newborn.

Abstract

Bullying is a common issue in school environments and can have severe negative impacts on students' mental, social, and academic well-being. This study examined the Relationship between Knowledge and Attitude with the Dangers of Bullying in High School Students. A quantitative cross-sectional approach was used, involving 60 eleventh-grade students selected through total sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires distributed before and after the health education intervention and analyzed using univariate and bivariate tests. The univariate results showed that most respondents had high levels of bullying behavior (71.7%), low knowledge (68.3%), and negative attitudes (51.7%). After the intervention, improvements were observed in both knowledge and attitudes. Bivariate analysis revealed a significant relationship between knowledge and bullying (p = 0.017) and between attitude and bullying (p = 0.033). Health education proved effective as a promotive and preventive strategy for fostering positive behavior and empathy among adolescents. Therefore, schools should integrate health education into student development programs to create a safe and violence-free learning environment. This study contributes to bullying prevention through a structured, evidence-based educational approach.

Abstract

The increase in pneumonia cases directly impacts the burden of health services, marked by a surge in the number of visits to service facilities, an increase in hospitalization rates, and high pressure on medical personnel in health centers and hospitals. This study analyzes the policy strategy for controlling pneumonia in Central Kalimantan. This study uses qualitative research with a descriptive phenomenological approach that emphasizes the health policy strategy for controlling pneumonia in Central Kalimantan to gain a deep understanding of the stakeholders' implementation. Based on the study's results, although the National Action Plan for controlling pneumonia focuses on toddlers, in Central Kalimantan, most cases of pneumonia are found in the pre-elderly age group (45-59 years), indicating a mismatch between national policies and local conditions. Environmental factors, air pollution, and comorbid conditions, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and diabetes, may not have been sufficiently considered in the policy. In Central Kalimantan, poor air quality due to forest fires and extreme climate change worsens health, especially in the pre-elderly age group. Therefore, the pneumonia control strategy in this area needs to be adjusted to local epidemiological conditions, environmental and social risk factors, socio-economic conditions, adjustments to prevention and treatment strategies, and collaboration between sectors, including focusing on adult, pre-elderly, and elderly age groups, not just toddlers.

Abstract

Stunting remains a serious challenge in Indonesia, particularly during the third trimester of pregnancy, a critical period for fetal growth. This study aims to analyze the application of a caring approach to families with pregnant women in their third trimester to improve Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (CHLB) as an effort to prevent stunting in Sebangau District. The study was conducted over six months in 2025 using qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and questionnaires distributed to pregnant women and family members. Samples were taken purposively, involving intervention and control groups in six urban villages. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive methods and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to identify the main components influencing the effectiveness of the caring approach to CHLB and the risk of stunting. The results show that the application of caring dimensions such as emotional, social, and empowerment support has a positive effect on improving CHLB in pregnant women. The dominant influencing factors are family empathy, communication with health workers, and access to sanitation facilities. In conclusion, a caring approach in families can improve CHLB in pregnant women and has significant potential in preventing stunting during pregnancy. The recommendation of this research is the need for integration of caring approaches in public health promotive and preventive programs, as well as the development of caring-based family intervention models that can be implemented at local and national levels.

Abstract

Patient safety is a critical component of healthcare quality. Surgical procedures pose significant risks, with frequent incidents such as wrong-site surgeries and retained surgical instruments. To mitigate these risks, the Fourth Patient Safety Goals emphasize the correct site, correct procedure, and correct surgical patient. Nurses, who are involved in every stage of surgical care, play a vital role in ensuring of the correct site, procedure, and surgical patient. The objective of this research is to analyze and identify the role of nurses in implementing the Fourth Patient Safety Goal, specifically in ensuring the correct site, procedure, and patient in surgical settings. This study employed a literature review method using databases including Google Scholar, PubMed, and Science Direct. A total of 11 articles published between 2024 and 2025 were selected using inclusion and exclusion criteria based on the PICO(S) approach. Article quality was assessed using JBI Appraisal Tools. The findings show that nurses contribute significantly to all three phases of the Surgical Safety Checklist (sign in, time out, sign out). Their roles include verifying surgical information, ensuring team communication, providing emotional support for patients, coordinating interdisciplinary collaboration, and integrating technology-based tools. Barriers identified include lack of training, incomplete documentation, and limited compliance with protocols. Nurses play a central role in ensuring the correct site, procedure, and surgical patient. Strengthening their competence, fostering interprofessional collaboration, and applying technological innovations are essential strategies to enhance patient safety in surgical settings.

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is a critical indicator of healthcare service quality and a key determinant of a hospital's performance and reputation. This study analyzed the factors influencing inpatient satisfaction at Sultan Imanuddin Hospital, a regional referral hospital in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, focusing on three independent variables: facilities, patient admission procedures, and nurse communication. A quantitative research design was employed using a multiple linear regression analysis on data collected from 368 inpatients through a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS 25, incorporating validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing. The results revealed that facilities (β = 0.917, p = 0.000) and nurse communication (β = 0.382, p = 0.000) have a statistically significant positive effect on patient satisfaction. In contrast, patient admission procedures showed no significant influence (β = 0.004, p = 0.781). The Adjusted R-Square value of 0.979 indicates that the model can explain 97.9% of the variation in patient satisfaction, demonstrating a very high explanatory power. These findings suggest that physical infrastructure and interpersonal care are the most critical drivers of patient satisfaction in this setting. Therefore, hospital management should prioritize continuous improvement of facilities and invest in training programs to enhance nurses' communication skills. Although administrative procedures are essential, their impact on satisfaction is minimal, highlighting the need for a patient-centered approach emphasizing comfort, empathy, and effective interaction. This study contributes to the growing body of evidence on healthcare quality in public hospitals in Indonesia. It provides actionable insights for policymakers and healthcare managers aiming to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
