Abstract

Hypertension is a major health problem for non-communicable diseases. Family support is the best preventive strategy to help family members maintain their health. This study aimed to determine the correlation between family support and obedience to blood pressure control in patients with primary hypertension. This research method is a quantitative descriptive correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was 71 patients with primary hypertension using the purposive sampling technique. The results showed that most patients with primary hypertension were in the good category about 47 respondents (66.20%) and compliance with blood pressure control in patients with primary hypertension was in the high category about 41 respondents (57.75%). The analysis using the rank Spearman test showed that the value of p = 0.000 (p<0,05) indicates a correlation between family support and compliance with blood pressure control. r value is 0,570 (moderate strength) and positive correlation direction means that the better the family support, the higher blood pressure control compliance. Family support has a significant influence on family members who suffer from hypertension, the family functions to carry out nursing care practices to care for sick family members, including obediently controlling blood pressure. Based on the research results, it is hoped that the Community Health Center can provide ongoing education about managing hypertensive patients, especially family involvement in patient care.

Abstract

Background: Complications that occur during pregnancy are one of the triggers for mothers to undergo surgical procedures, one of which is SC surgery. Post-SC surgery patients experience pain due to the incision made during surgery. The aim of this research is to determine pain management using the finger grip relaxation technique. This research was conducted at RSU Prikasih in 2018. A quasi-experiment method with a pre-test and post-test control group design, sampling using accidental sampling of 20 people (10 people in the control group and 10 people in the experimental group). The pain was measured using the Wong Baker Face Rating Scale. Statistical tests use the independent t-test and the paired sample T-Test. Research results show that there was a significant effect of finger grip relaxation on pain in post-SC surgery patients in the experimental group (t=15.05, p=0.000). Finger grip relaxation can reduce pain in post-SC patients. It is hoped that after this research, health workers can use this therapy to reduce pain.

Abstract

The spread of leptospirosis worldwide shows a high incidence rate. The disease is transmitted through the urine of animals infected with leptospira bacteria. Factors that can affect the incidence of leptospirosis are gender, age, uncovered food storage, the presence of rats, the presence of pets and contact with standing water. The writing method used is literature review. The literature search used Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect databases with the period 2019-2023. The results of a review of 10 national and international journal articles show that leptospirosis has considerable potential for farmers because the spread occurs directly through blood or urine containing germs into the human body, and indirect transmission can occur through stagnant water, rivers, lakes, drains, and mud contaminated by animal urine. The harmful effects of spreading leptospirosis in an agricultural environment can lead to infection in humans and livestock. Early symptoms in humans include fever, headache, and nausea. If not treated promptly, the disease can progress to a more serious and potentially life-threatening condition. Therefore, the role of nurses in monitoring the health of farm animals and educating farmers on preventive measures is crucial in maintaining animal health and keeping the agricultural sector sustainable.

Abstract

One of the contributors to morbidity and mortality rates in mothers and babies is infection caused by premature rupture of membranes (PROM), where the amniotic membrane which is a barrier to the entry of germs that cause infection is no longer there and can be dangerous for the mother and fetus. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of premature rupture of membranes at the Ciruas Health Center in 2018. The study design is cross sectional. The population is 140 childbearing women who were in the Ciruas Health Centre during study period. 33 women were selected purposively as the sample based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results show that the incidence of PROM at the Ciruas Community Health Center was quite high (63.6%). Most of the mothers who gave birth had a high risk of giving birth (60.6%), were primiparous (51.5%), had a term gestational age (63.6%), and lacked knowledge about pregnancy and childbirth (54.5%). There was a relationship between age (p=0.003), parity (p=0.008), gestational age (p=0.010), and knowledge (p=0.027) with the incidence of premature rupture of membranes in in childbirth women at the Ciruas Health Center in 2018. It is hoped that the community health center can provide intensive delivery services to mothers who are at high risk of experiencing PROM. Apart from that, it is also necessary to provide counseling, information, and education regarding danger signs during labor for mothers who are giving birth.

Abstract

Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat / PHBS) in schools is an effort to create a healthy environment in schools that is aware of preventing disease, improving health, and being active in maintaining a healthy environment in schools independently. This service aims to increase the awareness, attitudes, and PHBS skills of Tempurejo youth by counseling on clean and healthy living behavior based on the SI-TeSa mobile application. The quasi-experiment used pre-post and post-test questionnaires with research indicators, namely knowledge and attitudes, by dividing respondents into a control group (n=30) and an intervention group (n=30). Simple random sampling with a total of 60 respondents based on G power analysis (effect size 0.3, α err probability 0.05, power 0.95). Educational intervention program with PHBS education as well as two demonstrations including the 6 steps for washing hands and reviewing the SI-TeSa (Sistem Informasi Terampil Kesehatan) mobile application. The results of the pre-post Wilcoxon test for the intervention group showed a sig value <0.001 (p = 0.05). This indicates that there is an influence of education on clean and healthy living behavior based on the SI-TeSa mobile application. Meanwhile, the control group showed a sig value of 0.124 (p=0.05), indicating that there was no influence of education on clean and healthy living behavior. There was a significant increase in knowledge and attitude scores before and after the SI-TeSa mobile application-based healthy living behavior counseling was carried out.

Abstract

Rheumatoid Arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease that can cause bone damage and cause disability. The most common and dominant symptom is pain, especially swelling in the morning. There is a way to treat pain in rheumatoid arthritis patients with massage. Massage has the effect of reducing anxiety and muscle tension. This muscle massage stimulation is enriched to stimulate delta-A nerve fibers and C fibers and releases substance P in the afferent nerves, where there are mechanoreceptors (tactile apparatus: skin) as a defense mechanism, and in the central cortex, the descending nerves release endogenous. opiates, namely endorphins produced by the pituitary as a pain reliever. So, it can block or reduce pain impulses. This study aims to determine the effect of massage on reducing pain intensity in rheumatoid arthritis patients. This research uses a literature review design using 2 databases, namely PubMed and Scopus. The results showed that in journal research, giving massage for ± 15 minutes every day resulted in reduced pain and anxiety. In the journal, rheumatoid arthritis sufferers had a decrease in the quality of pain using back massage therapy with p=0.05. The conclusion of this study shows that the use of massage therapy is effective for patients with rheumatoid arthritis who experience pain.
