Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has brought significant changes in various fields, including education. One of the technological innovations that has made a major contribution is machine learning. Education is an important aspect in human resource development. In this context, understanding the factors that influence student performance and classifying their learning outcomes is very important. This research aims to compare the best performance of two models, namely the C4.5 Algorithm and Naïve Bayes, then produce a decision tree to facilitate the classification of student performance. Using a student performance dataset totaling 2,392 data, this research classifies student performance from various aspects such as grades, class participation, learning skills, and contributions to extracurricular activities. In this research, the author performed data splitting with a ratio of 70:30 and 80:20, then evaluated the model with a confusion matrix and validated the model with 10-fold cross-validation. The best result of model testing was 85.82% using the C4.5 Algorithm with 10-fold cross-validation. The results of this research are expected to not only be able to classify student performance with good accuracy, but also provide valuable insights for educators and school and campus administrators to improve the overall quality of education.

Abstract

The increasing number of students at Universitas Jambi each year is not accompanied by a proportional graduation rate, making it necessary to analyze student data to provide strategic solutions. This study aims to apply data mining techniques to student data to assist academic advisors in predicting students' graduation status and providing early warnings to help students complete their studies on time, thereby minimizing graduation delays. The data used in this study consists of alumni records from the Faculty of Science and Technology at Universitas Jambi from 2019 to 2024, which have undergone a data cleaning process. The classification method used is the Decision Tree algorithm with Chi-Square feature selection to enhance model accuracy. The results indicate that applying feature selection to the Decision Tree algorithm improves the accuracy to 80.00%, compared to 78.57% without feature selection. Additionally, the precision increased from 86.82% to 84.41%, recall improved from 86.72% to 92.24%, and F1-score rose from 86.77% to 88.13%. These findings suggest that feature selection significantly contributes to enhancing the classification model’s performance in predicting student graduation at Universitas Jambi, particularly by improving recall, which reflects the model’s ability to more accurately identify students who graduate on time.

Abstract

This study analyzes the acceptance and use of the Sistem Informasi Rekapitulasi (SIREKAP) application in the 2024 Simultaneous Election in Indonesia, with a focus on Paal Merah District, Jambi City. The main objective of this research is to evaluate the factors influencing SIREKAP acceptance using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and Task Technology Fit (TTF) models. Based on data analysis from 254 respondents, the study found that Performance Expectancy positively influences the intention to use the application, while factors such as Effort Expectancy and Social Influence have no significant effect. Additionally, Task Technology Fit plays a significant role in improving performance and the usage of the SIREKAP application. These findings provide insights into the factors that need to be considered when implementing information technology in the election sector, as well as the importance of task-technology alignment in influencing the acceptance of applications.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the performance of the Naïve Bayes algorithm in breast cancer diagnosis classification by integrating the Information Gain feature selection method. The dataset used is the Wisconsin Breast Cancer (Diagnostic) dataset, consisting of 569 samples. This study evaluates the effectiveness of feature selection in improving the accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of the classification model. The implementation of the Information Gain feature selection method successfully increased the Naïve Bayes model's accuracy from 94.15% to 96.49%, a 2.34% improvement. The addition of feature selection significantly enhanced the predictive capability of the model. The findings of this study can support more accurate medical decision-making, potentially influencing treatment decisions and patient outcomes in clinical practice. This research provides new insights into the application of machine learning in medical diagnostics and suggests directions for future research.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student satisfaction with the quality of the Academic Information System (SIAKAD) services at Universitas Dinamika Bangsa using the Fuzzy Servqual method. The analysis is based on five service quality dimensions: Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Empathy, and Tangibles. The defuzzification results indicate that the Reliability and Responsiveness dimensions have a GAP value of 0.0, signifying that the services provided meet student expectations. Meanwhile, the Assurance, Empathy, and Tangibles dimensions have a GAP value of 1.0, suggesting that students' perceptions of the service exceed their expectations. Thus, overall, students are satisfied with the services provided by the academic information system. Furthermore, this study identifies key factors influencing student satisfaction, including Assurance, which reflects security and trust in the system, Empathy, which demonstrates attentiveness and care for student needs, and Tangibles, which relate to the system's physical facilities and interface. The findings emphasize the importance of maintaining and optimizing service quality while ensuring that the Reliability and Responsiveness dimensions remain stable and do not decline over time. The recommendations derived from this study are expected to contribute to improving academic services and developing strategies to enhance student satisfaction at Universitas Dinamika Bangsa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the service quality of the SIAKAD website at Universitas Dinamika Bangsa Jambi using the WebQual 4.0 method. The issues raised include the impact of access speed, the SIAKAD system on user expectations, the completeness and accuracy of data, and an overall analysis of the SIAKAD service quality. The study uses three main variables: Information Quality, Interaction Quality, and Usability Quality, with 311 respondents categorized by gender, age, and academic program cohort. The results show that Information Quality and Interaction Quality have a significant impact on user satisfaction, while Usability Quality does not have a significant effect. An R-Square value of 85% indicates that the service quality of SIAKAD at Universitas Dinamika Bangsa Jambi is good and positively influences user satisfaction. This study concludes that users are satisfied with the quality of the SIAKAD website services, except in terms of Usability.

Abstract

In today's digital era, data has become a strategic asset crucial for companies in decision-making processes. The Chinook database is a relational database designed to manage data for digital music sales companies. This project aims to explore and analyze data from the Chinook database, which contains information on sales, customers, artists, albums, and music genres that contribute the most to revenue. The analysis process begins with building an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipeline to prepare the data into a more structured data warehouse. The data is then visualized through an interactive dashboard using Tableau. The interactive visualization on the dashboard enables business teams to make data-driven decisions to improve revenue and operational efficiency. This project provides technical benefits such as skill development in database management, ETL processes, and data visualization, as well as business benefits, including more effective marketing strategies and catalog optimization. Thus, this project not only contributes to technical development but also identifies best selling products, improves customer retention, and supports strategic decision making in the digital music industry

Abstract

Persons with disabilities face difficulties in accessing the social services available to them, especially regarding data collection and information management. This research aims to develop a web-based information system that will assist the Medan City Social Service in effectively and efficiently managing disability data. This system is intended to make data recording, searching, and reporting easier, which will help improve the quality of services provided to the community. Needs analysis, system design, implementation, and testing are the methodologies used in this research. Web-based technology is used to develop this system, which includes programming languages and databases (e.g., PHP, Python, or others). Individual data management, data searching, and statistical report generation are the main features provided. The research results indicate that this information system has the capability to improve the accuracy of data collection and reduce the time needed to process data. With this system, the Social Service of Medan City can provide more organized services to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

Abstract

The increasing number of coffee lovers is evident from the growing number of coffee shops in Bogor City. To maintain competitiveness in today's digital era, innovative business process ideas are needed. Coffee shops currently lack an application that is able to make customers feel served quickly. Business process simulation of the selection of QR Code technology for the problem of selecting a menu in the ordering process to be effective, using the BIZAGI Modeler application. The results of the BPMN simulation using BIZAGI Modeler, which begins with the identification of ordering process activities in the form of BPMN diagrams, time analysis and resource analysis. Assuming 50 customers per day, an average of 14 minutes is required to complete the ordering process for each customer, and it takes around Rp. 156,800 per day to pay 5 employees.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of financial literacy, financial technology (FinTech), and demographic moderation on the financial behavior of the Millennial generation in Indonesia. Employing a descriptive quantitative approach and the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method based on Partial Least Squares (PLS), data were collected from 97 respondents using a structured questionnaire. The analysis results reveal that financial literacy (X1), FinTech (X2), and demographic moderation (Z) have a significant impact on financial behavior (Y). Financial literacy directly enhances individuals’ ability to manage finances, invest, and plan for their financial future, with a P-value of 0.004. FinTech also promotes more efficient financial behavior, with a P-value of 0.009. Furthermore, demographic moderation significantly moderates the relationship between financial literacy and FinTech with financial behavior, with P-values of 0.002 and 0.035, respectively. These findings highlight the importance of incorporating demographic perspectives in understanding Millennials’ financial behavior. The research model demonstrates strong predictive capability, with an R-Square value of 0.766, indicating that 76.6% of the variance in financial behavior is explained by the independent variables. The constructs’ reliability and validity were well established, as evidenced by Cronbach’s Alpha and Composite Reliability values above 0.7, as well as an Average Variance Extracted (AVE) exceeding 0.5. Theoretically, this study contributes to the understanding of the relationship between financial literacy, FinTech, and demographic factors in shaping financial behavior. Practically, the findings suggest that FinTech service providers should design more inclusive strategies and implement effective financial education programs for Millennials. A comprehensive approach that considers demographic and technological factors is essential for enhancing financial literacy and behavior more effectively.
