Abstract

This study examined the effect of using learning media in teaching the properties of light on junior high school students’ learning outcomes and critical thinking skills in science. A quantitative approach was employed using a one-group pre-test–post-test design. The sample was selected randomly, and data were collected through a critical thinking test administered before and after the treatment. The findings revealed that the use of learning media had a positive and significant impact on students’ performance. Students’ mean score increased from 54.81 on the pre-test to 82.90 on the post-test, indicating substantial improvement in learning outcomes. In addition, students’ critical thinking skills showed marked development, improving from a low category to an excellent level after the implementation of the learning media. Statistical analysis using the t-test further confirmed that the treatment significantly enhanced students’ critical thinking abilities. These results suggest that integrating learning media into science instruction, particularly in the topic of the properties of light, effectively supports students’ understanding and promotes higher-order thinking. Overall, the study concludes that the use of learning media not only improves academic achievement but also fosters critical thinking skills, which are essential for students’ success in science learning.

Abstract

Deep learning approach can be used for personalized, adaptive education systems. Personalized learning can be utilized to make this type of education more effective. Personalized learning (also known as competency-based learning) is an educational approach that adapts instruction to students' needs and abilities. This research aims to identify and analyze research trends of deep learning in physics. This research method is descriptive and analytical. The data used in this research was obtained from documents indexed by Google Scholar from 2016-2025 using Publish or Perish and Dimension.ai. Research procedures use PRISMA guidelines. The data identified and analyzed are the type of publication, publication source, and the title of research on deep learning in physics that is widely cited. The data analysis method uses bibliometric analysis assisted by VOS viewer software. The results of the analysis show the research trend on the deep learning in physics indexed by Google Scholar from 2016 to 2025 has experienced a fluctuating increase. However, in 2025 there will be a decline in the research trend on the deep learning in physics. There are many documents in the form of articles, proceedings, chapters, preprints, monograph and edited books that discuss research into the deep learning in physics. Key words that are often used in research about it are chatgpt, technology, learner, artificial intelligence, etc. The study results show that the implementation of deep learning has a positive impact on the development of higher-order thinking skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, which are highly relevant to the demands of 21st-century competencies. However, its effectiveness depends heavily on the quality of the learning design, teacher preparedness, and an assessment system that supports meaningful learning.

Abstract

Problem-solving ability is a skill that requires thinking by using and connecting with various rules that we already know that are important for students to have. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the ethnoscience-based creative problem-solving learning model on the problem-solving abilities of sixth-grade students at MIN 2 Ponorogo. This study was designed using a quantitative research method with an experimental research type. While the research design is Quasi Experimental Design. The sample used was 21 students of class VI MIN 2 Ponorogo as the experimental class sample and 23 students as the control class sample. Data collection was carried out by observation and tests. The research data were then analyzed using the T test, N-Gain test, and Cohen's Effect Size test. The problem-solving abilities of students who applied the ethnoscience-based creative problem-solving learning model were different when compared to the problem-solving abilities of students who applied the conventional learning model. Based on the calculation of the two-tailed t test, it was found that the sig. (2 tailed) 0.000 and the value is less than 0.05, and the one tailed t test can be seen that the significance value is 0.00 and the value is less than 0.05, so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Therefore, it can be said that the problem-solving ability of students in the experimental class with the ethnoscience-based creative problem-solving learning model is better than the problem-solving ability of students in the control class.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing local wisdom-based chemistry learning modules in high school on students' learning interest. Local wisdom is a part of culture in society that can be integrated into chemistry learning to make the material more contextual and relevant to students' daily lives. Attractive and relevant modules can enhance students’ comprehension, motivation, and potential. The research method used is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR), in which data were collected from articles indexed in Google Scholar articles indexed on the SITA page. Of 387 articles, 35 met the criteria and were fully accessible for analysis. The results of the study indicate that implementing local wisdom-based modules that are interesting and systematically designed can improve students’ interest in learning. This study concludes that integrating local wisdom into chemistry learning not only improves comprehension of the material but also fosters students' love and concern for local culture.

Abstract

This study examined of lecturer interaction on students’ learning outcomes, with learning motivation serving as a mediating variable. The research employed a quantitative explanatory design using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The study was conducted in the Tadris Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (TIPA) Study Program at UIN Syekh Wasil Kediri and involved 22 fifth-semester students selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire measuring lecturer interaction, learning motivation, and learning outcomes. The results showed that lecturer interaction did not have a significant direct effect on students’ learning outcomes. However, lecturer interaction had a significant positive effect on learning motivation, and learning motivation significantly influenced learning outcomes. The mediation analysis further revealed that learning motivation significantly mediated the relationship between lecturer interaction and learning outcomes. These findings indicate that lecturer interaction contributes to student learning outcomes indirectly by strengthening learning motivation. The study highlights the importance of creating meaningful lecturer–student interaction in higher education as a way to foster student motivation and improve academic achievement. Therefore, efforts to enhance learning outcomes should focus not only on instructional delivery but also on building supportive and motivating academic interactions.
