Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh intensitas penggunaan media digital terhadap minat Generasi Z dalam bidang jurnalistik. Kehadiran media digital yang semakin dominan tidak hanya menjadi sarana hiburan, tetapi juga menjadi sumber informasi sekaligus ruang aktualisasi diri bagi generasi muda. Generasi Z, yang dikenal dekat dengan teknologi, cenderung menghabiskan waktu lebih banyak pada platform digital seperti media sosial, portal berita online, dan aplikasi berbagi video. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada sejumlah responden yang termasuk dalam kategori Generasi Z. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingginya intensitas penggunaan media digital memiliki hubungan yang positif dengan meningkatnya minat terhadap aktivitas jurnalistik, seperti menulis berita, membuat konten informatif, serta melakukan peliputan peristiwa secara kreatif. Media digital memberikan kemudahan akses informasi, peluang belajar secara mandiri, serta ruang interaksi yang luas sehingga mendorong ketertarikan untuk terlibat lebih jauh dalam dunia jurnalistik. Selain itu, paparan terhadap berbagai bentuk jurnalisme digital turut memperkuat kemampuan berpikir kritis dan literasi media. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media digital memainkan peran penting dalam menumbuhkan minat dan motivasi Generasi Z untuk mengembangkan keterampilan jurnalistik.

Abstract

This study examines cultural conflicts that emerge in the multicultural society of Padang City as a result of tensions between Minangkabau traditional values and the pressures of modern development. Using a qualitative approach with an interpretive paradigm and a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving traditional leaders, cultural actors, youth communities, tourism practitioners, and government representatives. Findings reveal three dominant forms of conflict: (1) conflicts of meaning and sacredness arising from the transformation of Rumah Gadang into commercial spaces; (2) spatial and architectural identity conflicts triggered by urban modernization that neglects Minangkabau aesthetics; and (3) conflicts caused by the commodification of traditional performances for tourism. These conflicts occur due to different interpretations of cultural values and competing interests among actors. The study concludes that effective cultural conflict management requires a collaborative model integrating ABS-SBK values, adaptive governance, and the active role of young generations through digital cultural literacy. The proposed model offers strategic directions for sustaining Minangkabau culture while accommodating modern socio-economic demands..

Abstract

Traditional markets serve not only as centers for economic transactions but also as spaces for social interaction and the preservation of community culture. However, the development of modernization and the emergence of modern and digital markets have brought significant changes to the function and existence of traditional markets. This study aims to analyze the socio-cultural transformations occurring in traditional markets amidst the currents of modernization, with a focus on changing interaction patterns, cultural values, and the role of markets in community social life. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and literature review. The results indicate that traditional markets have undergone changes in communication patterns, buying and selling habits, and a shift in shared values ​​toward more practical interaction patterns. Nevertheless, traditional markets continue to play a vital role as irreplaceable socio-cultural spaces, particularly in preserving local traditions and strengthening community social solidarity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the intrinsic elements of the short story “Angin dari Gunung” by A.A. Navis using a structural approach. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method through close reading, note-taking, and textual analysis. The findings reveal that the main theme of the story centers on the protagonist’s psychological struggle when dealing with social pressure and the desire for personal tranquility. The internal conflict experienced by the protagonist is reflected through inner monologues and narrative descriptions that contrast the serenity of the mountain with his emotional restlessness. The mountain setting functions symbolically as a space of quiet contemplation, yet it highlights the protagonist’s inability to escape his internal burdens. The progressive plot illustrates the character’s psychological development toward the realization that physical escape cannot resolve inner turmoil. This study concludes that the intrinsic elements—theme, characters, plot, setting, and conflict—work cohesively to construct the story’s overall meaning. Each element supports the narrative structure and reinforces the message regarding self-awareness, acceptance, and the complexity of human emotional experience.

Abstract

Teacher social capital plays a strategic role in building collaborative relationships between schools and families, particularly in urban environments characterized by diverse social characteristics and high community mobility. This study examines the concept of teacher social capital, the challenges faced in urban contexts, and its impact on parental participation in education. Social capital is understood as a teacher's relational capabilities, encompassing social networks, trust, norms, values, and communication skills that enable effective collaboration. Various studies indicate that challenges such as social heterogeneity, parental busyness, limited digital literacy, and a weak culture of participation can hinder the formation of stable school-family relationships. Literature findings reveal that teacher social capital significantly influences the quality of two-way communication, support for home learning, and school legitimacy in the eyes of parents. This study also highlights the importance of strategies to strengthen social capital through communication training, collaborative programs, technology utilization, optimization of school committees, and institutional support. By strengthening teacher social capital, parental involvement can increase, thereby making the educational process in urban areas more effective and sustainable.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the image of the Palembang Ekspres (Palpres) mass media in the eyes of the Palembang community through an analysis of the media branding strategies implemented and the public's assessment of the media's image. This study uses a mixed methods method with an exploratory sequential design, namely qualitative data analysis is carried out first to explore the branding strategies implemented, then used as a basis for compiling quantitative instruments to measure public assessments of the media's image. Qualitative data are obtained through in-depth interviews with internal parties of Palembang Ekspres, while quantitative data are obtained through distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents from the Palembang community who have accessed Palpres news, using a purposive sampling technique. Qualitative data analysis in this study is carried out through a process of reduction, data compilation, and drawing conclusions. Meanwhile, quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and then followed by a simple linear regression test to examine the relationship between variables. The results showed that Palembang Ekspres implemented five main elements in its branding strategy: brand identity, brand positioning, brand communication, brand experience, and brand personality. The implementation of this strategy was evident through the consistency of its visual identity, the presentation of fast and relevant news, the utilization of various digital platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok, and the use of visual content to enhance the reader experience. Quantitative findings indicated that Palpres' image was in the positive category, particularly in terms of credibility, information quality, news clarity, and public trust. The regression test also showed that the branding strategy had a significant influence on Palpres' image in the eyes of the Palembang community. Thus, this study confirms that the branding strategy implemented by Palembang Ekspres was able to create a positive image among the Palembang community.

Abstract

Personal hygiene is one of the most important measures in maintaining health, especially in preventing skin diseases. One aspect of personal hygiene that is often overlooked is towel hygiene. Towels that are used repeatedly without being washed properly can become a breeding ground for bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms that can cause various skin problems such as itching, irritation, fungal infections, and dermatitis. This article aims to examine the role of towel hygiene as a measure to prevent skin diseases based on a review of various health and environmental journals in Indonesia. The results of the study show that sharing towels, rarely washing towels, and not drying towels properly can increase the risk of skin disease transmission. Therefore, habits of maintaining towel hygiene, such as washing towels regularly, drying them thoroughly, and not sharing towels, are simple yet effective steps in supporting personal sanitation and preventing skin diseases. These efforts are expected to raise public awareness of the importance of clean and healthy living behaviors in daily life.

Abstract

The kite tradition in Nagari Jopang Manganti, 50 Kota Regency, West Sumatra, represents a cultural heritage rich in historical, social, and philosophical values, and is a vital part of Minangkabau identity. Kites are not merely recreational games but serve as symbols of freedom bounded by customary and Islamic law (Adat basandi syarak, syarak basandi Kitabullah) and embody the harmony between humans and nature. Preservation of this tradition through festivals and mutual cooperation (gotong-royong) strengthens social solidarity, intergenerational transmission of ancestral values, and a dynamic, living cultural identity. Beyond entertainment, this tradition plays an important role in character education, fostering creativity, and cultivating local pride. The sustainability of the kite tradition requires continuous support from the community, traditional leaders, government, and cultural institutions to ensure its endurance amid modernization. This research employs a qualitative method with a folklore approach, utilizing interviews and observations, to reveal the social, cultural, and educational values embedded in the kite tradition in Nagari Jopang Manganti.

Abstract

Fenomena kompleksitas informasi berita mendorong media guna menyajikan data secara lebih menarik dan ringkas melalui infografis, yang efektivitasnya perlu diukur, terutama dalam hubungannya dengan kepercayaan publik. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis hubungan antara efektivitas infografis terhadap pemahaman pembaca dengan kepercayaan sebagai mediasi pada pengikut instagram @tirtoid. Penelitian ini melibatkan 130 sample pengikut instagram @tirtoid dan menggunakan PLS-SEM sebagai metode analisisnya. Hasilnya, efektivitas infografis mampu mempengaruhi, baik terhadap pemahaman pembaca maupun terhadap kepercayaan. Selain itu, kepercayaan juga terbukti mampu mempengaruhi pemahaman pembaca. Namun, uji mediasi menghasilkan bahwa kepercayaan belum mampu memediasi hubungan antara efektivitas infografis dan pemahaman. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pengikut @tirtoid yang telah familiar dengan konten infografis cenderung memiliki tingkat pemahaman yang tinggi secara langsung, tanpa harus melalui proses pembentukan kepercayaan sebagai perantara terlebih dahulu.

Abstract

Social marketing is a strategic approach that is increasingly applied in public sector marketing to encourage behavioral change and create sustainable social impacts. Unlike commercial marketing, social marketing focuses on public interests by integrating marketing principles to address various social issues. This article aims to examine the role of social marketing as a catalyst for innovation in public sector marketing, particularly in promoting behavioral change and generating sustainable social outcomes. The research method employed is a literature review by analyzing relevant scholarly sources. The findings indicate that well-designed social marketing initiatives can enhance public awareness, participation, and engagement in addressing public issues such as health, environmental sustainability, and social welfare. In addition, social marketing contributes to strengthening public trust in government institutions and supporting the sustainability of public policies. Therefore, social marketing can be considered an innovative and effective instrument in achieving sustainable social development goals within the public sector.
