Abstract

Correspondence management is a crucial component of local government administration as it serves as the primary medium for formal communication among regional government organizations. Advances in information technology have encouraged local governments to adopt electronic correspondence information systems in order to enhance bureaucratic efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability. This study aims to analyze the management of an electronic correspondence information system at the Office of Communication and Informatics of Kendari City by examining five main stages, namely the receipt, sorting, recording, follow-up, and storage of correspondence. This research employs a qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The findings indicate that the processes of receiving and sorting correspondence have been conducted electronically and centrally by correspondence administration officers. However, the recording of correspondence is still carried out manually using agenda books, which has not fully supported the optimization of the electronic correspondence system. Follow-up actions depend on leadership disposition through the digital system, while archiving is implemented through a combination of digital and physical storage as a form of administrative risk control. These findings demonstrate that the electronic correspondence information system has contributed to accelerating administrative workflows, yet further development is required to achieve full integration within local government administrative governance.

Abstract

Development planning at the village level requires accurate, up-to-date, and integrated data to ensure targeted policies meet community needs. Population data based on the Family Card (Kartu Keluarga) provides important population information, but is incomplete if not linked to spatial conditions. Therefore, combining population data with administrative maps through a Geographic Information System (GIS) is a strategic step to improve the accuracy of village development planning. This study aims to analyze the importance of integrating population data and administrative mapping in supporting development planning in Kampung Batu Dalam Village. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with GIS-based spatial analysis, combining population data from the Family Card data collection with spatial data from the village administrative map. The results show that the integration of demographic and spatial data provides a more comprehensive picture of population distribution, inequality in access to public facilities, and areas requiring development focus. Therefore, combining population data and administrative mapping through GIS can improve the accuracy of village development planning, support data-driven decision-making, and encourage more effective, equitable, and sustainable development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of digital transformation in the development of e-business in Indonesian Islamic banking, with a case study focus on Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). Digital transformation has become a strategic necessity for Islamic banking to increase competitiveness in the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution, but its implementation must remain in line with Islamic principles such as fairness, transparency, and the prohibition of usury. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review, analysing scientific journals, official BSI reports, and policy documents related to the digitalisation of Islamic banking. Data analysis techniques use content analysis with document triangulation to increase the validity of the findings. The results show that BSI has implemented comprehensive digital transformation through the BYOND platform, integration with halal fintech, a cloud-based core banking system, and the application of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics technologies. This implementation has successfully increased active users by 41% and operational efficiency by up to 28%. However, there are significant challenges faced, including customer digital literacy gaps, cyber security threats, the complexity of post-merger system integration, and the limited number of human resources who are proficient in Sharia-based digital technology. This study contributes to the literature on Islamic finance digitalisation by providing an understanding of how Islamic banking can transform sustainably without abandoning fundamental Sharia values.

Abstract

This article aims to examine paradigms in qualitative research from a philosophical perspective and to explore their relevance in addressing the challenges and complexities of the modern world. Qualitative research is grounded in ontological, epistemological, methodological, and axiological frameworks that differ from those of quantitative approaches. Through a literature review, this article discusses five key paradigms that form the foundation of qualitative research: post-positivism, social constructivism, postmodernism, pragmatism, and critical theory. The novelty of this article lies in its reinterpretation of these paradigms within the context of technological developments, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), and their implications for the validity, ethics, and integrity of qualitative research. A descriptive-critical analysis is employed to evaluate how these paradigms remain relevant and can adapt to the needs of contemporary research. The study finds that qualitative paradigms are not only essential for understanding complex social realities, but also must be strengthened through philosophical reflection in response to the challenges of digitalization.

Abstract

This study examines efforts to build cultural awareness among young people through tambua and dance training in Koto Panjang. Traditional arts, particularly tambua and Minangkabau dance, play a vital role as community identity and symbols of regional glory. The preservation and regeneration of these arts require strategic interventions to transfer cultural values to the younger generation. A descriptive qualitative research method was used with a participatory observation approach and literature review to analyze the training process. Data were collected through direct observation during the Community Service Program (KKN) and a review of relevant literature. The results showed that the structured training model, encompassing history, philosophy, techniques, and simulations of traditional performances, was effective in engaging young people in Koto Panjang. This training not only improved participants' technical skills in tambua playing and dancing but also fostered a deeper understanding of Minangkabau cultural values such as mutual cooperation and discipline. Identified positive impacts include increased self-confidence, sustainable cultural regeneration, increased social participation, and contributions to the local economy through cultural tourism. This training serves as a powerful model for preserving cultural heritage and empowering young people as agents of tradition.

Abstract

Indonesia is rich in ethnic and cultural diversity, with each local culture representing a collection of knowledge, values, norms, and shared practices. Among these, the Banjar culture in South Kalimantan exemplifies a long history of acculturation influenced by indigenous beliefs, Hindu-Buddhist traditions, and Islam. One notable example is the Balampah tradition, a ritual practice originally rooted in local and Hindu-Buddhist beliefs, which has been transformed through Islamic teachings while maintaining its cultural identity. This study aims to analyze the acculturation process in Banjar culture, focusing on Balampah, and to explore how Islamic values influence its transformation. The research employs a library research approach, reviewing books, scholarly articles, historical manuscripts, and documents on Banjar culture, ritual practices, and religious integration. Findings indicate that Balampah functions as a form of spiritual retreat, combining ascetic practices, prayers, and ritual activities aimed at personal purification, protection, and social well-being. The tradition embodies key Islamic educational values, including tauhid (monotheism), tazkiyatun nafs (self-purification), moral and ethical development, and social responsibility. The study demonstrates that Balampah exemplifies a dynamic process of cultural adaptation where local traditions harmonize with Islamic teachings, preserving both religious and cultural identities in contemporary Banjar society.

Abstract

This study examines the Maudu Lompoa tradition, a religious ritual of the Cikoang community in Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi. Maudu Lompoa is a form of communal theater that represents cultural values, religiosity, and collective or communal identity through performative arts. Maudu Lompoa is a commemoration of an important day, coinciding with the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, which has been celebrated since the 17th century. This tradition is a religious ritual that also presents a social performance involving thousands of people from various backgrounds in a creative, artistic, symbolic, and collaborative process. This tradition was originally initiated by Syekh Jalaluddin, a cleric from Aceh who is believed to be a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, and has become a spiritual and cultural tradition passed down from generation to generation to this day. This study uses Judith Butler's performativity analysis and Victor Turner's social drama theory. It focuses on symbolic repetition, collective bodily participation, and ritual space, which indirectly bring out social and communal values through representation in the performance. Through participatory and narrative analysis, it was found that Maudu Lompoa is not only a form of spiritual expression, but also an arena or space for drama that strengthens solidarity and identity for the community. This study uses a qualitative approach with stages of literature study, collecting narratives, videos, photos, documents, archives and academic literature deemed relevant. The research focuses on how the Maudu Lompoa tradition in the Cikoang community represents a form of communal theater through performative elements. The results of performative analysis can reveal the meaning, identity, and social dynamics contained in the tradition of Maudu Lompoa as a performing art based on local wisdom.

Abstract

Physical inactivity has become a global public health crisis, with approximately 1.8 billion adults worldwide failing to meet recommended levels of physical activity. Asia records the highest prevalence, ranging from 45% to 48%. Physical literacy (PL) has emerged as a holistic framework to address this challenge; however, a comprehensive mapping of PL research across Asian contexts remains limited. This study aims to examine the development, research gaps, and emerging trends in PL research in Asia using a bibliometric-based scoping review approach. Methods A bibliometric analysis was conducted on 1,142 documents indexed in the Scopus database from 2010 to 2026. The analysis employed R-Bibliometrix and VOSviewer to map publication productivity, international collaboration patterns, topic evolution, and conceptual networks within the field. Results: The number of publications increased substantially, from 7 articles in 2010 to 322 articles in 2025, with a notable surge after 2019. China emerged as the dominant contributor with 1,009 publications. Indonesia also demonstrated considerable productivity (223 articles) but had the lowest citation impact, with an average of two citations per article. International research collaboration remained relatively limited, accounting for only 26.18% of publications. Research themes evolved from a predominantly methodological focus during 2010–2016 to an emphasis on health literacy and health promotion between 2020 and 2025. The predominance of cross-sectional study designs (128 publications) highlights a shortage of intervention-based and longitudinal research. Conclusion PL research in Asia is currently in a phase of rapid expansion, supported by strong growth momentum. Nevertheless, further progress requires enhanced international collaboration, the development of culturally appropriate measurement instruments, and more evidence-based intervention and longitudinal studies to effectively inform public health policy

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning process of Gondang Anak art at the Damar Wulan Art Studio in Parumasan Village, Sodonghilir District, and analyze how these activities play a role in shaping children's character. Gondang art, as an agrarian cultural heritage of the Sundanese people, has strong social and spiritual values, such as mutual cooperation, discipline, responsibility, and togetherness. In a modern context, the involvement of children in Gondang activities at the Damar Wulan Studio is a strategic effort to preserve local culture while instilling positive character values from an early age. The research method used is a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of the studio leaders, trainers, and children participating in the activities. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the Gondang learning process is carried out in stages through imitation and repetition methods, where the trainer provides direct examples that the children then follow. This activity not only improves musical skills but also fosters character traits of discipline, cooperation, self-confidence, responsibility, and social awareness. Changes in children's behavior are evident in increased time discipline, ability to work in groups, and courage to perform in public. Thus, Gondang Anak art has proven effective as a medium for character education based on local culture. This activity not only preserves traditional Sundanese art but also strengthens the cultural and moral identity of the younger generation amidst the current of globalization.
