Childhood obesity is a global health issue affecting individuals and communities, with serious disease risks such as diabetes and heart disease. This phenomenon is related to genetic, behavioral, environmental, and socioeconomic factors. In Saudi Arabia, the prevalence of childhood obesity reaches 82.49%, and in Riyadh, 32.5% of children under 12 years old are obese. Several contributing factors to childhood obesity include maternal knowledge about nutrition, paternal nutritional status, history of exclusive breastfeeding, and parenting styles. This study aims to identify factors associated with obesity in toddlers at the Outpatient Department of Pediatric Dr. Sulaiman Alhabib Medical Center Alnarjes, Riyadh. This research is quantitative with an analytical survey design using a cross-sectional approach. The population studied consists of mothers with toddlers under 5 years old at the Outpatient Department of Pediatric Dr. Sulaiman Alhabib Medical Center Alnarjes, Riyadh, in January 2024, with an average of 50 toddlers per month. Samples were taken using total sampling, resulting in a total sample of 50 toddlers. This research was conducted in May 2024 using a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test. The results show that the age group of 24-36 months is the largest, with 20 children (40%) of the total respondents. A total of 62% of toddlers are obese. There is a significant relationship between maternal knowledge (p=0.003), parental nutritional status (p=0.008), exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.020), and parenting style (p=0.007) with the incidence of obesity in toddlers. It is recommended that mothers and families improve their knowledge of nutrition and child health through appropriate education and outreach.

Archery is a precision sport that requires high concentration and postural stability, so hydration status may potentially affect athlete performance. This study aimed to compare the effects of isotonic drink and mineral water consumption on archery scores and hydration status, as measured by urine specific gravity (USG), among archery athletes of Universitas Negeri Surabaya. This quasi-experimental study used a crossover design involving 20 active athletes who received both interventions alternately. Fluid was administered at 150 mL every 10 minutes during the training and scoring sessions, with a total volume of 1,050 mL. Archery performance was assessed using the World Archery Federation scoring sheet, while hydration status was measured using USG reagent strips. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results showed no significant difference in archery scores between mineral water and isotonic drink consumption (p=0.070). Isotonic drink significantly decreased USG (p=0.001), while mineral water did not (p=0.088). However, the change in USG between the two interventions also did not differ significantly (p=0.062). It is concluded that there were no significant differences in archery scores or in hydration status change between mineral water and isotonic drink consumption. Nevertheless, isotonic drink consumption showed a significant decrease in urine specific gravity within its own group.

The implementation of electronic medical records in all health care facilities is required to implement an electronic-based medical record system, as regulated in the Minister of Health Regulation Number 24 of 2022 concerning Medical Records. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of registration officers regarding the implementation of the electronic medical record system at RSAD Level II Udayana, Denpasar City. This study used a qualitative approach with an in-depth interview method based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) theory, which includes perceptions of ease of use, perceptions of benefits, attitudes toward use, and intentions to use the electronic medical record system. The results showed that the electronic medical record system was considered relatively easy to use after going through the adaptation and training process, and provided benefits in the form of increased work efficiency. Officers' attitudes toward using the system tended to be positive because they felt comfortable and helped in their work, and their intention to continue using the system was also high, driven by policies and developments in digital technology, despite technical obstacles such as internet network disruptions. From this study, it can be concluded that the acceptance of the electronic medical record system is influenced by a combination of ease of use, perceived benefits, and organizational and infrastructure support. Therefore, system quality improvement and ongoing training are needed to optimize implementation.

Atrial fibrillation, particularly NVAF, is a major risk factor for stroke and systemic embolism, yet real-world evidence on the effectiveness and safety of DOACs versus warfarin remains limited. This systematic review and meta-analysis compared the effectiveness and safety outcomes of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) vs for stroke prevention in patients with NVAF. This review followed PRISMA guidelines. Cohort studies published in the past 10 years were identified from PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, with study quality assessed using the Newcastle–Ottawa Scale. Pooled hazard ratios for the effectiveness and safety of DOACs versus warfarin in NVAF were calculated using a random-effects model in RevMan 5.4.1. A total of 12 studies were included in this meta-analysis. Compared with warfarin, DOACs significantly reduced the risk of stroke or systemic embolism (HR = 0.76, 95% CI: 0.67–0.87), ischemic stroke (HR = 0.70, 95% CI: 0.54–0.92), and hemorrhagic stroke (HR = 0.62, 95% CI: 0.45–0.86). All-cause mortality was numerically lower with DOACs but not statistically significant (HR = 0.82, 95% CI: 0.66–1.01). For safety outcomes, DOACs were associated with a lower risk of major bleeding (HR = 0.81, 95% CI: 0.65–1.00) and intracranial hemorrhage (HR = 0.57, 95% CI: 0.50–0.65), while gastrointestinal bleeding did not differ significantly between groups (HR = 1.09, 95% CI: 0.62–1.90). Based on real-world cohort evidence, DOACs demonstrate superior effectiveness in reducing stroke and systemic embolism and a more favorable safety profile compared with warfarin in patients with NVAF.

Hospitalization can be a stressful experience for children, especially when they undergo invasive procedures, which often cause pain and anxiety, which can impact their physical and psychological well-being. This can lead to trauma during hospitalization. This study aimed to identify the relationship between parental involvement and pain and anxiety levels in preschool children during invasive procedures. This study used a quantitative approach and research’s design was a cross-sectional survey. A total of 52 children aged 3-6 years (preschool) with non-oncology cases were treated at the Private Hospital “X” in Medan with purposive sampling. The instruments in this study were questionnaires and pain scale observation. Bivariate test used the non-parametric Spearman's Rho test. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between parental involvement and preschool children's pain level during invasive procedures and there was a significant relationship between parental involvement and anxiety level of preschool children undergoing invasive procedures. Parents' inability to provide appropriate support has the potential to worsen the child's emotional condition, which in turn increases the risk of failure of the procedure, prolongs the duration of the procedure, and adds to the psychological burden on health workers. It is recommended that further researchers conduct intervention studies to identify parental involvement during hospitalization.

Hospitalization is a stressful experience for children, especially when they have to undergo disruptive procedures, which often cause anxiety that affects the child's physical and mental health. This can create a traumatic experience related to hospitalization. This study aims to identify the relationship between parenting styles and anxiety levels in preschool-aged children during hospitalization. The method used in this study is quantitative with a cross-sectional survey design. A total of 52 children aged between 3-6 years (preschool) who were treated at Private Hospital "X" Medan were selected through a purposive sampling technique. A questionnaire was used as the research instrument. Bivariate analysis was conducted using the non-parametric Spearman's Rho test. The findings of this study indicate a significant relationship between parental parenting styles and preschoolers' anxiety levels during hospitalization. Parenting styles significantly influence preschoolers' anxiety levels during hospitalization. Children who receive supportive, democratic, and affectionate parenting styles tend to have better coping mechanisms, resulting in lower anxiety levels than children with less appropriate parenting styles. It is recommended that further researchers conduct intervention studies to identify parenting patterns and add variables of children's coping mechanisms during hospitalization.

Babies get all the nutrients they need to grow and develop optimally from breast milk, making it the ideal food source. Breast milk secretion issues are frequent among new moms, especially in the first few days after giving birth. One non-pharmacological approach to increasing milk production and secretion is oxytocin massage, which works by stimulating the release of the hormone oxytocin. In 2025, the goal of 80% was not met at Ampelgading Public Health Center, Ampelgading District, where the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding remained at 72%. The purpose of this research was to find out whether postpartum women could increase their milk production by massaging their breasts with oxytocin. The researchers in this study used a one-group pretest-posttest design based on previous research. Thirty pregnant women who had just given birth were randomly selected using the complete sampling technique. For three days, we monitored the secretion of breast milk both before and after performing an oxytocin massage. The Wilcoxon-marked assessment test was used to evaluate the data, with a significance level of α = 0.05 being used. According to the data, the majority of participants were between 26 and 30 years old, had experienced a termination of employment, had a minimum of Junior High School Education, were unemployed, and were among the youngest participants (10 respondents; 33.3%). After receiving oxytocin massage, the average amount of breast milk released increased from 6.93 cc to 24.83 cc. Statistically significant changes in breast milk secretion were seen before and after oxytocin massage administration, as indicated by a p value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) on the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. Postpartum women who get an oxytocin massage report an increase in their milk production. Midwives may advise oxytocin massage as a postpartum intervention to help the mother secrete more breast milk.

Anxiety is a psychological response often experienced by patients before undergoing surgery and can affect their physical and psychological readiness. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of guided imagery relaxation therapy in reducing anxiety levels in preoperative patients in the Marwah Inpatient Ward, Bakti Timah Hospital, Pangkalpinang. The study used a descriptive method with a case study approach. The subjects consisted of three preoperative patients experiencing anxiety and were selected based on inclusion criteria. Data collection was carried out using a nursing assessment format, observation sheets, the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS), documentation, and the Standard Operating Procedures for guided imagery therapy. Data analysis was carried out descriptively by comparing the patient's condition before and after the intervention for 3x24 hours. The results showed that all patients experienced a decrease in HARS scores, namely Mrs. A from 24 to 15, Mr. B from 22 to 14, and Mrs. C from 26 to 16. In addition, patients showed a decrease in fear, increased comfort, better sleep quality, and improved vital signs. It was concluded that guided imagery relaxation therapy was effective in helping to reduce anxiety levels and increase patient readiness in facing surgery so that it could be applied as a non-pharmacological nursing intervention in pre-operative patients.
