Abstract

North Sulawesi is in a complex tectonic interaction which is the relative movement of three Eurasian macro plates, the Pacific plate, the Philippine plate, and the Maluku Sea microplate. The active tectonic movement results in high earthquake activity in the region of North Sulawesi and its surroundings. This results in the importance of accurate earthquake parameter information, one of which is by conducting research on local wave velocity. The purpose of this study is to determine the velocity of 1D P waves and relocate the earthquake hypocenter and determine the correction stations in North Sulawesi and surrounding areas with coordinate boundaries 0.17166°S- 2.742781°N and 119.5212°E- 125.5067°E using the Couple Velocity-Hypocenter method with Velest software. The results of simultaneous inversion processing are carried out until the 50th iteration which obtains the wave velocity fluctuates at several depths but in general, the denser layers of the earth's compilers will increase the wave velocity, the improvement of the RMS from an average of 1.71 to 0.49 and the correction of the stations obtained is at intervals of 0.39 to 20.91.

Abstract

The quality of learning must be supported by the teacher's ability in learning. The problem is the teacher still places students as objects, not as subjects in classroom learning. The method used makes students just wait, do not take the initiative, or trying to be creative. The purpose of this action research is to improve the quality of learning by using the Project Base Learning approach to the concept of Dynamic Fluid. This type of research is action research on students of class XI IPA 3 Academic Year 2019/2020 SMA Negeri 9 Manado. The application of this learning base project is to obtain learning activities and outcomes that can be observed through behavior in the learning process and student test results. The results showed that in the first cycle students' learning outcomes and Student activities in this concept still did not meet the criteria. The second cycle shows high-grade learning results and student activities. The conclusion of the study attested that student activity experienced significant progress and fulfilment. It is recommended that in learning the concept of Dynamic Fluid the instructor should use the Project base Learning approach.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the feasibility of learning tools products based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) with experimental methods on Elasticity and Hooke's Law. This research uses a development research model by following the stages of Brog and Gall. This research was carried out in SMA N 2 Bitung in class XI MIPA 7 (Experimental Class) and class XI MIPA 6 (Control Class) which were implemented in the odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year in September-December of 2019. Based on the results of the validity test from the Material Experts and Media Experts, these learning tools respectively reached 96.3% and 94.45% so that they were included in the highly valid criteria. Student responses about this product are 81% so the product is included in the criteria is very valid and worth using. Analysis of the data from the learning outcomes that have been done is Tcount > Ttable and it can be concluded that there are significant differences in the improvement of learning outcomes in Class XI MIPA 7 that used this product, so this research is good and feasible to use.

Abstract

Learning physics means learning about natural concepts, which essentially explain the collection of knowledge in the form of natural phenomena or phenomena, concepts, principles, laws, theories based on logical thinking in accordance eith supporting facts. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Learning Through Approach (CTL) using experimental methods to improve the learning outcomes of student physics in material class XI for static liquids in SMA Negeri 1 Tagulandang. This study was a quasi-experimental study using the posttest control group design. The population in this study consisted of students from class XI IPA with a focus on the odd semester 2019/2020, and the sample in this study was carried out at random. These are all samples of IPI with a focus on the odd semester 2019/2020, which are divided into two classes, namely class XI IPA 1 as an experimental class and class XI IPA 2 as a control class. The data in this study are student learning outcomes after treatment. The conclusion of this study is that there are differences in learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. This difference is evident from the average of learning outcomes after testing the experimental class at 80.40 and the control class at 70.16, and learning by approach (CTL) using the experimental method efectif in brimg the learning outcomes of students at Tagulandang State High Improve School 1, especially with static fluid material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the PhET (Physics Education Technology) Simulation model of Problem Based Learning on the process and student learning outcomes in the Parabolic Motion material of Class X IPA of SMA Negeri 1 Remboken. This study was an experimental study with a population of Grade X students of Natural Sciences at SMA Negeri 1 Remboken, and a sample of 25 students was taken, with a pre-experimental one-groub pretest- posttest design. Data were analyzed from the results of the posttest, as well as from the assessment of science process skills and affective assessment criteria both 66% -79% and very good 80% - 100%. In the hypothesis test obtained tcount> ttable then H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, meaning the average student learning outcomes using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by PhET simulation media is greater than the KKM. Based on the data obtained an average posttest score of 80.24 while the KKM determined from the school is 75. So it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model, assisted by PhET (Physics Education Technology) simulation media is effective on the process and learning outcomes of student physics.

Abstract

Central Sulawesi is located between the boundaries of tectonic plates which are interconnected with one another. Some tectonic plates are located near Central Sulawesi, including the Indo-Australian plate, the Pacific plate, and the Eurasian plate. The interaction of these plates causes the formation of subduction and fault lines as locations that have the potential to become the center of an earthquake. Earthquakes at scale specific strength can cause infrastructure damage and fatalities. This has led to the importance of erecting earthquake resistant buildings based on the characteristics of ground motion which is Peak Ground Velocity and Ground Motion Prediction Equation method. The purpose of this study is to see the pattern of the relationship between Peak Ground Velocity and earthquake parameters, make an empirical equation of Peak Ground Velocity predictions and see the gorund motion in the Luwuk area with coordinate 2,5 °LS – 1,5°LU dan 119°BT - 127°BT used the Peak Ground Velocity and Ground Motion Prediction Equation method. The result shows the pattern is directly proportional to the relationship between earthquake parameters and the Peak Ground Velocity, and for the empirical equation obtained is log (PGV) = -3.8873 + 1.026975 x M – 1.34171 x log (R +17).

Abstract

The mathematical model for paratrooper motion is formed based on Newton's Second Law where the change in momentum in a system is equal to the resultant force acting on it. This research is an experiment with analytical descriptive method, which aims to show which method is most effective for the root solution of the equation in determining the drag coefficient (c) of the parachutist's motion numerically using the graph method, the method for two, the false position method, the Newton- Raphson and the Secant method. Numerical analysis using Borland Delphi 7 program and data processing using Microsoft Excel program. The results showed that the graph method is only limited to determining the estimated value for the lower and upper limits that will be used in the method of the two-way method, the false position method, the Newton-Raphson method and the Secant method. It turns out that the Secant method is a more effective method in determining the drag coefficient (c) of the parachutist's motion, because there are only 4 iterations to obtain a c value of 16.8345.
