Abstract

Sagu Baruk Palm (Arenga microcarpha) is an endemic plant and producing carbohydrates as main source of local food to the people in Sangihe Island . The aim of this study is to analyze the production of  the sago and to analyze its the chemical composition and nutritional value. The research was conducted from October 2010 to June 2011 at Gunung Village Tabukan Tengah Regency Sangihe district Island. The village is spread from the coast up to the top of the hill with an altitude of ± 600 meters above sea level. The data analysis techniques in this research is descriptive analysis, F test, ANOVA. The results showed that the production of Sagu Baruk Palm at the third height position for the stem lenght 9.7-11m and stem diameter 14.3-15.7cm obtain wet sago flour 44-44.3kg and the stem rendemen from 21.3% to 22.3%, statistically only stem weight and pith weight has a significant different. The highest stem weight obtained at the bottom position, the highest pith weight obtain at the top position, and for the higest stem rendemen obtain at the top position . The chemical composition were significant differences in levels of protein, calcium, iron, magnesium, and pH at the three height positions. Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of tools and guidelines for the density practicum at the Physics Laboratory, UNIMA, so that the practicum activities are not carried out. The purpose of this research is to produce a product of tools and guidelines for practicum density using guided inquiry learning models. This research is a research and development study using the 4 D research model adapted from the Thiagarajan model, which is difine, design, develop and disseminate. The number of students taken is 8 people for the small group test and 16 people for the large group test. The data analysis technique was done descriptively with several types of assessment including cognitive and psychomotor. At the last meeting, students were given a questionnaire to see student responses to density practical tools and guidelines, the results of the questionnaire proved that 97.87% thought that tools and practical guides were very useful (SB) in experimental activities. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the product of the tools and guidelines for density practice using guided inquiry learning models with very good and proper qualifications.      Keywords: Practicum Guide, Research and Development, Hydrostatic Pressure,

Abstract

The population growth is closely related to the utilization of natural resources and will impact on environmental degradation. Therefore, identifying and inventorying the local wisdom of the community that aims to conserve the environment is very important. Natural science perspective lifting local wisdom in education is one way to revitalize, develop and maintain the values of local knowledge. This study aims to explore the elements of local wisdom in society, examines the concept of Natural Science and Mathematics contained in the elements of local wisdom and is designed for learning materials. The research was conducted in the District Manganitu Sangihe Islands in January 2016. Data collection using observation techniques and interviews with related parties and data obtained analyzed the concept of science underlying the forms of local wisdom existing in Manganitu community.The result of the research is a concept map which contains the network of Mathematics and Natural Science concepts. Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of practicum guides for one-phase and three-phase generator tools so that students lack expertise in using these tools in experimenting. The purpose of this study is to produce a physics practicum guidance product on a one-phase and three-phase generator using a guided inquiry model with mentoring. This research is a research and development study using the 4D research model adapted from the Thiagarajan model, which is define, design, develop and disseminate. The results of the study for mentors and groups get an average value of 86.45%, so that the guidelines fall into the feasible / valid category. and on the response of mentors and students 47.17% chose very useful (SB), 51.43% chose useful (B) and 1.4% chose less useful (KB) none voted unhelpful (TB). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that a product has been produced in the form of a basic physics practicum guide for one-phase and three-phase generator tools using a guided inquiry learning model with good and proper qualifications. Keywords: Practicum guide, Research and Development, one-phase and three-phase generators, guided inquiry, mentoring.

Abstract

The research was conducted to analyze the level of students critical thinking skills and and the requirements for implementing PBL using android modules to improve students critical thinking skills in physics. This research method was included in the preliminary research with a sample of 174 students in XI grade MIPA at Gresik State High School. Data collection is done by sharing critical thinking tests with students, conducting questionnaires for students, and conducting teacher interviews. The data is examined both qualitatively and descriptively to explain the research's findings. The results of this research showed that 1) many students still had a low level of critical thinking. Of the 174 students, 119 have low level, 44 have medium level, and 10 have high level. The evaluation indicator has the lowest average value, and the interpretation indicator has the highest average. Student critical thinking skills are higher for females than for males. The conclusion is that the skills to think critically is very important during learning, especially in physics. To improve the critical thinking skills of students, the way that can be done is by applying PBL-assisted android modules.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of multirepresentation models in learning dynamic fluids on the learning result of students in class XI SMA Negeri 1 Langowan. With this type of research, namely quantitative research, true-experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design research design, the sample studied in the experimental class and control class amounted to 25 people determined based on random sampling technique. The population taken in this study were all grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Langowan. The research data was generated using a 12-item test instrument in the form of multiple choice questions. Based on the results of data processing, it was found that the average posttest value in the experimental class was 67.68 compared to the average posttest of the control class of 40.32. Then a statistical analysis was carried out in the form of T test analysis (Independent sample t-test) which showed a difference between student learning outcomes in experimental and control classes. Thus, the use of multirepresentation model is effective in improving the learning result of grade XI students at SMA N 1 Langowan. Thus it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning result in the use of multirepresentation models in dynamic fluid learning

Abstract

Thematic-Explorative-Democratic Learning (TED-L) merupakan strategi pembelajaran yang menekankan pada kegiatan belajar mental-personalitas secara utuh dalam mengeksplorasi objek dan informasi untuk merekonstruksi pengalaman empiris individu maupun kelompok. Dalam merekonstruksi pengalaman empiris pada pembelajaran TED, mahasiswa diarahkan untuk mampu merepresentasikan pengalaman dalam bentuk verbal, visual, dan matematis khususnya pada pembelajaran fisika. Dalam pembelajaran fisika dengan strategi pembelajaran TED pada Matakuliah Fisika Lingkungan diperlukan suatu bahan ajar yang memuat petunjuk-petunjuk yang dapat membantu mahasiswa untuk merepresentasikan pengalaman yang diamati. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan dan kepraktisan bahan ajar TED. Proses pengembangan bahan ajar ini menggunakan model 4D jenis penelitian R&D. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Jurusan Fisika Fakultas Matematika, IPA, dan Kebumian Universitas Negeri Manado terhadap 25 mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian dilihat dari dua aspek yaitu aspek kelayakan dan kepraktisan bahan ajar yang telah dikembangkan. Hasil kelayakan diperoleh melalui penilaian tim ahli media dan materi dimana hasil skor penilaian media sebesar 80,55 dan skor penilaian materi sebesar 93,75 dan untuk data praktikalitas diperoleh menggunakan angket respon siswa dimana 87% siswa menyatakan sangat setuju terhadap penggunaan bahan ajar. Kesimpulan menyatakan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan valid dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the PhET (Physics Education Technology) Simulation model of Problem Based Learning on the process and student learning outcomes in the Parabolic Motion material of Class X IPA of SMA Negeri 1 Remboken. This study was an experimental study with a population of Grade X students of Natural Sciences at SMA Negeri 1 Remboken, and a sample of 25 students was taken, with a pre-experimental one-groub pretest- posttest design. Data were analyzed from the results of the posttest, as well as from the assessment of science process skills and affective assessment criteria both 66% -79% and very good 80% - 100%. In the hypothesis test obtained tcount> ttable then H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, meaning the average student learning outcomes using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by PhET simulation media is greater than the KKM. Based on the data obtained an average posttest score of 80.24 while the KKM determined from the school is 75. So it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model, assisted by PhET (Physics Education Technology) simulation media is effective on the process and learning outcomes of student physics.

Abstract

The jigsaw type cooperative learning model is an example of a learning model that can be used by teachers in the teaching and learning process to improve student learning outcomes. The purpose of this research is to improve the process and learning outcomes of class XI IPA senior high school students on the topic of physics, temperature and heat by using the Jigsaw learning model. The method used in this research is experimental research using a one group pre-test-post-test design. This research was conducted through three stages. The first stage is to provide a pre-test to measure students' initial abilities. The second stage is giving treatment through a jigsaw cooperative learning model and the third stage is giving a post-test as a learning evaluation. The research subjects were high school students in class XI IPA at SMAN 2 Tondano 2022/2023. After the research data were obtained, they were statistically processed using SPSS 22.0 for windows. The average pre-test result was 5.32 and the post-test result was 85.21. Obtaining N-Gain scores from each student, there were 18 students in the high N-Gain category and 1 student in the medium N-Gain category, the total number of students who took part in the pre-test and post-test were 19 students. The results of this study indicate that by applying the jigsaw cooperative learning model to the physics topic of temperature and its measurement, student learning outcomes have increased
