Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of employee engagement on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), with job satisfaction as a mediating variable among SPPG employees. This study employed a quantitative explanatory approach involving 87 respondents selected using convenience sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics. The results indicate that employee engagement has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction (β = 0.757; p < 0.001) and organizational citizenship behavior (β = 0.712; p < 0.001). Job satisfaction also has a positive and significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior (β = 0.842; p < 0.001). Furthermore, job satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between employee engagement and organizational citizenship behavior. These findings indicate that strengthening employee engagement and job satisfaction can encourage employees to demonstrate voluntary behaviors beyond their formal job responsibilities. Such behaviors are important for supporting organizational effectiveness and institutional performance. The study contributes to the understanding of the mechanism through which employee engagement influences OCB by highlighting the mediating role of job satisfaction in the context of SPPG employees.
