Abstract

Latar Belakang: Diabetes Mellitus memerlukan kemampuan self-management yang baik untuk mencegah komplikasi. Kader Posyandu memiliki peran strategis dalam edukasi berbasis komunitas, namun masih terdapat keterbatasan dalam pemanfaatan media edukasi interaktif. Penerapan Therapeutic Patient Education berbasis Augmented Reality (TPE-AR DM2) diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kapasitas kader serta mendukung kemandirian pasien dalam pengelolaan penyakit. Metode: Kegiatan ini menggunakan desain pre-experimental dengan pendekatan one group pre-test dan post-test pada 25 kader Posyandu dan pasien DM. Intervensi berupa pelatihan dan pendampingan penggunaan TPE-AR DM2 yang mencakup peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan teknis, dan komunikasi terapeutik. Pengukuran pada kader dilakukan menggunakan instrumen pengetahuan, keterampilan, serta Diabetes Management Self-Efficacy Scale (DMSES) dan locus of control pada pasien. Analisis data menggunakan uji paired t-test dan perhitungan normalized gain (N-gain). Hasil: Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada seluruh domain kader dengan kategori N-gain tinggi, meliputi pengetahuan, keterampilan teknis, dan komunikasi terapeutik. Peningkatan kapasitas kader berdampak pada kemandirian dalam memberikan edukasi dan pendampingan. Pada pasien, terjadi peningkatan self-efficacy serta pergeseran locus of control ke arah internal, yang mencerminkan peningkatan kepercayaan diri dan kontrol dalam mengelola penyakit, termasuk pengaturan diet, aktivitas fisik, pemantauan glukosa darah, dan kepatuhan pengobatan. Kesimpulan: Penerapan TPE-AR DM2 efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas dan kemandirian kader Posyandu, serta berkontribusi positif terhadap penguatan self-management pasien Diabetes Mellitus di tingkat komunitas. Intervensi ini berpotensi menjadi model inovatif edukasi kesehatan berbasis teknologi di masyarakat.

Abstract

Pendahuluan & Tujuan: Puskemas menyediakan berbagai layanan kesehatan mulai promotif, preventif, kuratif dan rehabilitatif, termasuk pemeriksaan kesehatan gratis. Di Surabaya, pemeriksaan kesehatan gratis masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan yaitu kurangnya pemahaman masyarakat mengenai alur pendaftaran dan pemeriksaan. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai pentingnya memanfaatkan pelayanan kesehatan di puskesmas. Metode Pelaksanaan: Kegiatan berupa edukasi kesehatan menggunakan teori Maslow dan Health Belief Model dengan tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan pada Sabtu, 7 Februari 2026 di Balai RT 01 RW 07 Kelurahan Kapasan, Simokerto, Surabaya, dan tahapan evaluasi. Sasaran kegiatan adalah warga RT 01 dan RT 03, RW 07 Kelurahan Kapasan Surabaya sebanyak 16 orang. Hasil Kegiatan: Nilai rerata pengetahuan sebelum program sebesar 39,38 dan setelah program menjadi 61,25 dengan persentase kenaikan sebesar 55,5%. Diskusi: Program pengabdian masyarakat melalui SIGMA-PKG berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai pentingnya pemeriksaan kesehatan dan deteksi dini penyakit. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan nilai pengetahuan peserta setelah kegiatan edukasi dilakukan. Pendekatan Health Belief Model membantu meningkatkan persepsi masyarakat terhadap risiko penyakit dan manfaat pemeriksaan kesehatan, sedangkan pendekatan hierarki kebutuhan Maslow menegaskan pentingnya akses layanan kesehatan yang terjangkau bagi masyarakat.

Abstract

Introduction & Objectives: Community service through Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy in the Donokerto I Area, Kapasan Village, Simokerto Subdistrict, was motivated by the high prevalence of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), which is characterized by gastric acid reflux and causes symptoms such as epigastric pain and a reduced quality of life. Stress is known to exacerbate symptoms through increased visceral sensitivity and gastric acid secretion. This community service, through progressive muscle relaxation therapy, is used to manage GERD symptoms. Methods: Community service used a health education approach combined with demonstrations of progressive muscle relaxation techniques. Implementation methods included lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice sessions for participants. Evaluation utilized a pre-test and post-test design to measure knowledge improvement, attitude, and observation of symptom changes using the GERD Questionnaire. The participants consisted of 21 adults with GERD. Results: The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge and attitudes regarding GERD, and in their skill in progressive muscle relaxation techniques following the activity. Additionally, some participants reported a reduction in the intensity of symptoms such as heartburn, burning, and muscle tension. Discussion: Progressive muscle relaxation is effective as a complementary therapy in helping manage GERD symptoms, although its success depends heavily on regular and sustained practice.

Abstract

Introduction & Aim: Oral and dental health problems among early childhood remain high, as indicated by the high prevalence of dental caries among children in Indonesia. The low level of proper toothbrushing behavior is one of the main contributing factors. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of kindergarten children in maintaining oral and dental health, as well as to promote healthy habits from an early age. Method of Activity: The activity was conducted in the form of health promotion through education, simulation, and question-and-answer sessions. The strategies included: (1) delivering educational materials on oral and dental health, (2) using PowerPoint and animation media to attract children’s attention, (3) conducting simulations using dental mannequins as practical tools, (4) demonstrating proper toothbrushing techniques accompanied by educational songs, and (5) evaluating participants through direct observation of their understanding and participation. The target participants were 95 students of TK Kuncup Harapan. Results: The activity involved 95 students divided into two sessions. The results showed that the students understood the material and were able to demonstrate proper toothbrushing techniques. All participants showed high enthusiasm during the simulation and interactive activities. Discussion: This health promotion activity was effective in improving children’s knowledge and skills regarding oral and dental care. The use of interactive educational methods, such as animation and simulation, proved to enhance children’s participation. This activity also serves as a preventive effort to reduce the risk of dental caries and to support the improvement of children’s health status from an early age.

Abstract

Introduction & Aim: Many adolescents have a habit of consuming junk food due to its taste and convenience. Excessive consumption can lead to various health problems such as obesity, digestive disorders, and an increased risk of chronic diseases. This community service aimed to improve adolescents’ knowledge and awareness of the impacts of junk food consumption through a health literacy approach. Method of Activity: This activity was conducted in the Tenggumung Wetan area of Surabaya, involving 21 adolescents aged 14–20 years. The activity began with a baseline survey and was followed by health education using an interactive approach. Participants completed a knowledge questionnaire regarding junk food consumption before the educational session. The educational intervention was delivered through the screening of educational videos and the use of the GIVIC board game as an interactive learning tool. Results: An increase in adolescents’ knowledge following the health education session. Knowledge levels rose from 42.85% before the activity to 57% afterward. Respondent characteristics were dominated by adolescents aged 17–18 years (42.82%), females (61.90%), and high school graduates (66.67%). Discussion: Health literacy-based health education using interactive learning media, such as educational videos and board games, can improve adolescents’ knowledge of the dangers of consuming junk food. These methods can increase participants’ active engagement, reinforce understanding, and help adolescents retain the health information provided.
