Abstract

Public demand for adequate health services is increasing. This is due to changes in disease patterns, demographic structures, developments in science and technology, and the community's economy. Patients will feel satisfied if their expectations for health services are met. To increase patient satisfaction with health services, the quality of service must also be improved. The quality of health services is the compatibility between the health services provided and the patient's needs or compliance with the provisions of service standards. This study used a cross sectional design on a sample of 20 patients who were treated in the D2 inpatient room at Adi Husada Kapasari Hospital on 13 October – 13 December 2019. As many as 55% of respondents stated that the quality of health services provided by nurses was quite good, 40% of patients stated very satisfied with the quality of service. The chi-square result shows a sig value of 0.027 (P<0.05). This means that there is a relationship between health services and the level of patient satisfaction. The quality of service and the level of patient satisfaction in hospitals are two things that are very closely related. Increasing public demands force hospitals to continue to innovate and improve the quality of their services to patients.

Abstract

Introduction & Aim: Physical changes in the elderly include the musculoskeletal system, where there is a decrease in the production of synovial fluid as a joint lubricant causing impaired joint movement. Joint disorders are characterized by symptoms of joint stiffness or pain when moving. So far, activities at the elderly integrated service post (posyandu) include promotive and preventive activities. Still, the material presented has not shown any screening or early detection of joint stiffness due to osteoarthritis, even though many elderly people complain of joint stiffness and pain. Therefore, the purpose of this community service activity is to make the elderly remain active independently (LAMAR) to detect early symptoms of osteoarthritis using a goniometer. Method of Activity: This community service activity was carried out in February 2023 in the RW 7 area, Kapasan Village, Simokerto District, Surabaya City. The activity begins with an initial assessment of the elderly who are members of the elderly posyandu in the area. The activities carried out included the initial socialization of the LAMAR program, implementation of counseling, conducting early detection demonstrations, and program evaluation. The results of the screening were then processed using computer software. Results: The knowledge of the elderly after being given counseling on the Independent Active Elderly program through the media of booklets, power points, and goniometer teaching aids has been shown to increase where the statistical test results were p = 0.002 (α≤0.05) from 48% of respondents with sufficient and insufficient knowledge to 100% with a good level of knowledge. Discussion: The LAMAR (Independent Active Elderly) program will make the elderly productive, namely the elderly who are physically, mentally, and socially healthy. This can increase awareness/attention to the elderly in early detection of joint stiffness. The goniometer is used to measure and record the amount of joint movement actively or passively.

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is being felt all over the world, especially in Indonesia. Covid-19 has had an impact on the health, economic and social sectors. The large number of deaths due to disease causes changes in the composition of the population. To prevent the spread from becoming more widespread, the government implemented large-scale social restrictions. Travel restrictions and long stays at home have the government fearing a post-pandemic boom in births. Therefore the government focuses on birth control. This study aims to determine the development of a pandemic and its impact on the number of new users of family planning methods in East Java Province. The research used secondary data that came from the website of the East Java Provincial Health Office and the Population and Family Planning Agency from March 2020 to November 2021. The results of the regression test showed that there was no effect between the number of positive confirmed cases of Covid-19 and the number of new users of contraceptive methods. This shows that the policies developed have been successful and it is hoped that there will be a strategy for family planning services for other emergencies. Socialization and establishing cooperation between health workers in the field also need to be improved, especially for health workers in the private sector.

Abstract

Indonesia has implemented a decentralization policy since the end of the Soeharto era. Decentralization gives central government tasks to local governments. Local governments are obliged to manage, develop regions, and improve the welfare of their people. Each region has its own policies in improving the health of its people. To monitor the achievement of the success of the health system in each region, a clear and broad picture is needed. One of them is the index. East Java is one of the provinces with the highest population in Indonesia. This study aims to see whether the indicators of Public Health Development in East Java have an influence on life expectancy. The results of the study showed that complete immunization and the proportion of doctors to residents in 1 sub-district have an influence on life expectancy. To improve immunization achievement, the government has launched various programs. The government is also carrying out equal placement of doctors through various health programs. The indicators measured are used as monitoring and evaluation materials for programs that have been carried out. Further research is needed regarding the relationship between regions and life expectancy.

Abstract

Background: According to Minister of Health Regulation no. 30 of 2019, a hospital is a health service institution that provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency care. The growth of the middle class population in Indonesia increases the need for health services, as well as triggering competition between hospitals at home and abroad. The quality of hospital services is greatly influenced by the performance of medical personnel, infrastructure and efficient work systems. Complete medical records and stored for at least five years for document ownership and patient identification. Aims: This study used a cross-sectional design to investigate the factors that influence nurses' compliance in filling out medical record files (BRM) at Hospital X Surabaya. By creating hypotheses and research questions, finding research variables, determining research subjects, taking measurements, and analyzing data. Results: Logistic regression test, category 1 shows a high value, the extrinsic value has a significant value of 0.215, with a value of Exp(B) = 4.925, and a value of 0.215 is greater than 0.05. So the results obtained are extrinsic values that do not affect nurses' compliance when they fill out medical records. The logistic regression test shows that Category 1 shows a high value, and the intrinsic value variable shows a significant value of 0.215. The conclusion of this research is that nurses' compliance is not directly related to the completeness of BRM filling, although BRM completeness is still important for providing effective care and as a source of information for hospital management
