Abstract

The aim of this research was to know about introduction section written by Lecturers on Lateralisasi Journal and Math-UMB Edu Journal, the research found that the introduction section of Research article written by Lecturers on Lateralisasi journal and Math-UMB Edu journal were “not sufficient” because the Lecturers did not use all of moves in introduction section based on Swales (1990). The result, all Lecturers did not use Move II, Whereas, in writing a good and strong introduction section must had Move I, Move II, and Move III. Thus, the writer would like to suggest that the Lecturers’ research articles in journal had understand about the concept of Rhetorical move based on Swales in introduction section  Key Words : Rhetorical Move, Linguistics Feature, Introduction Section.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were known linguistics feature in introduction section written by lecturers on Journal Scientific and Applied Informatic and Journal of Technopreneurship and Informatin System. Linguistics feature by Wjiayanti [et.al] (2013) in Penulisan dan Penyajian Karya Ilmiah book : Konjungsi, kalimat aktif dan kalimat pasif. The reseacher found that in the lecturers’ introduction section on Journal Scientific and Applied Informatic and Journal of Technopreneurship and Informatin System were used linguistics feature by Wijayanti [et.al] (2013) in Penulisan dan Penyajian Karya Ilmiah book, namely konjungsi (dan, karena, sehinngga, oleh karena itu, and bahwa), kalimat aktif and kalimat pasif.Keywords       : Linguistics feature, introduction section.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the expectations of students in microteaching classes about peer teaching results. This analysis used descriptive methods. Sixth semester students who were pursuing microteaching subjects at the Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu's English education program were the focus of the study. In this analysis, the investigator used the questionnaire as a guide. The questionnaire was approved and updated from the Professional Growth and Evaluation Handbook for Teacher (2015). The result showed that students perspective on peer teaching success in microteaching classes was classified as negative. It suggests that students should practice a great deal to improve their better teaching efficiency, and it also indicated that students should be taught how to make a good lesson plan before teaching practice to establish an efficient teaching learning process for lecturers. Keywords : Microteaching, Teaching Performance, Students Perceptions.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the Students' Problems in Understanding "Language Assessment and Evaluation Material. The result of this research, the students in 8th semester had problems in understanding materials: 1). the problems in understanding reliability by using Cronbach Alpha materials, 2). the problems in understanding the Normal Curve and Conversion of the Score materials, and 3). the problems in understanding reliability by using (Kuder – Richardson Formula 20 and 21) KR – 20 and 21 materials. I hope that the  researcher expected to help students later to be more active in learning language assessment and evaluation of material subjects. For the further researcher, especially English students who are going to conduct the research with the new title, like “student's efforts. Key word: Problems in understanding materials.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to understand the strategies of lecturers and the dominant strategies of lecturers used by lecturers. This research discussed about the promotion of active participation in speaking classrooms by lecturers. This research employed qualitative design for analysis.The instrument were a questionnaire focused on (Jia,2013) theory and an interview. The results demonstrated that the lecturers completely used all strategies namely, improving questioning strategies, attending to learners' linguistic level, implementing cooperative learning, building positive teacher-learner rapports, reducing classroom anxiety. From those strategies, The highest percentage of strategies implementation leads to attending to learners' linguistic level. The result implies that it is necessary to introduce the use of strategies to encourage active classroom to develop the comprehension of the students and to establish an efficient way to teach speaking. Keywords: Strategies, Teaching Srategy, Speaking.
