Abstract

Academic fraud remains a significant issue in higher education, including among health students who are expected to uphold strong ethical and professional standards. This study aimed to examine the role of moral reasoning as an internal factor in preventing academic fraud within health education. The review was guided by theoretical frameworks including Kohlberg’s theory of moral development and the Fraud Triangle/Diamond models to interpret the interaction between internal and external determinants of academic fraud. The analysis shows a consistent negative relationship between moral reasoning and academic fraud, indicating that health students with higher moral reasoning demonstrate stronger ethical reflection and lower tendencies toward dishonest academic behaviors, even under academic pressure. However, external factors such as permissive academic environments and increased access to technology, including generative AI, may reduceth protective effect. Therefore, strengthening moral reasoning through structured ethics education, reflective learning, and curriculum integration is essential as a long-term strategy to prevent academic fraud and to foster ethical integrity among future healthcare professionals

Abstract

Background: Complete and accurate medical records are a crucial component in supporting the accuracy of diagnosis coding, particularly for chronic diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Incomplete data in medical records can lead to errors in diagnosis coding, which subsequently affects patient management and the quality of healthcare services. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the completeness of medical record documentation and the accuracy of DM diagnosis coding at Hospital X. Methods: This study used a quantitative analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach through observation and analysis of medical record documents. Statistical analysis was performed using the Chi-square test to determine the relationship between documentation completeness and coding accuracy. Results: From 66 medical record samples, it was found that 40 medical records (60.6%) had incomplete diagnosis documentation, while only 26 medical records (39.4%) were completely filled out. Furthermore, the accuracy of diagnosis code assignment also showed suboptimal results, with 42 medical records (63.6%) displaying incorrect code assignment, and only 24 medical records (36.4%) being coded accurately. The findings indicate that complete medical records tend to result in more accurate diagnosis coding. Conclusion: In conclusion, the completeness of medical records has a positive effect on the accuracy of DM diagnosis codes. Therefore, strengthening documentation practices, implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and providing regular coding training for medical record personnel are necessary to improve diagnosis coding accuracy and hospital data quality.

Abstract

Background: Working mothers are not entirely with their babies during the first six months, which increases the likelihood of not exclusive breastfeeding. This issue can be addressed through breast milk management. Therefore, pregnant women need to understand how to manage expressed breast milk (EBM) to be prepared during the breastfeeding phase. Data from Girimukti Village shows that 27 pregnant women were working, and the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding from January to June 2024 reached 60.75%. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of health education on EBM management on the knowledge and attitudes of working pregnant women in Girimukti Village, Cisewu Health Center Area, Garut Regency in 2024. Methods: This research employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The study uses a pretest and posttest design. The sample consisted of 28 third-trimester pregnant women in Girimukti Village, selected using total sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results: Knowledge about EBM management before health education was categorized as poor (46.4%), and attitudes were negative (64.3%). After health education, knowledge was categorized as good (60.7%) and attitudes as positive (67.9%). Conclusion: Health education on EBM management significantly influenced knowledge (p = 0.000) and attitudes (p = 0.013) of working pregnant women. Recommendations: Working pregnant women are advised to enhance their knowledge of EBM management to ensure they can provide exclusive breastfeeding for their babies during the breastfeeding period.

Abstract

Introduction: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an environmentally based disease whose incidence can be reduced by carrying out vector control measures, namely by means of mosquito nest eradication (PSN) movements. Method: The research design used was a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test. The population in this study, based on data from visits in April, was 105, followed by 111 in May, and 109 in June. Therefore, the average number of visits over the past three months was 108.3, or 109 people. The sample in this study was all patients who visited during the study period. Results: Based on the analysis, it is known that the mean value or average value of post-test knowledge is 8.52, which is greater than the mean value or average value of pre-test knowledge of 4.96 and the Standar. Deviation value of post-test knowledge is 1.767, which is greater than the Standar. Deviation value of pre-test knowledge of 1.046. Based on the analysis, it is known that the mean value or average value of post-test attitude is 36.20, which is greater than the mean value or average value of pre-test knowledge of 22.36 and the Standar. Deviation value of post-test knowledge is 6.689, which is greater than the Standar. Deviation value of pre-test knowledge of 3.500. Conclusion: Based on the analysis, it is known that the results of the paired t-test statistical test obtained a ρ Value of 0.000, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of counseling on the knowledge of environmental-based diseases (DBD) at the Muaradua Community Health Center UPT, South OKU Regency.
