Abstract

Analog rice is one of the staple food alternatives developed to support national food diversification and reduce dependence on paddy rice. This study aims to analyze the nutritional content of sago-based analog rice and compare it with the nutritional content of white rice (Oryza sativa) in an equivalent portion of 200 grams. Laboratory analysis showed that sago analog rice contains 756 kcal of energy, 174.8 g of carbohydrates, 2.88 g of protein, 5.16 g of fat, and 1.64 g of ash. Meanwhile, in the same quantity, white rice contains approximately 720 kcal of energy, around 156 g of carbohydrates, approximately 13.6 g of protein, and about 1.2 g of fat. The conclusion of this study is that sago analog rice has higher energy and carbohydrate content but significantly lower protein content compared to white rice. Therefore, although sago analog rice has potential as an energy source and utilization of local food resources, reformulation with protein-rich ingredients is necessary to improve its nutritional value. This study supports the development of sago-based analog rice as a strategic food alternative in sago-producing regions, provided that further nutritional enrichment is conducted to make it acceptable as a nutritionally equivalent staple food.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia is still low (29.5%). The failure of exclusive breastfeeding is influenced by several factors, one of which is self efficacy. Mothers who have a high level of breastfeeding self-efficacy tend to breastfeed until the age of 6-12 months. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of breastfeeding self-efficacy with the success of exclusive breastfeeding in mothers breastfeeding toddlers aged 6-24 months in Bunijaya Village, Cianjur. This research design is analytic correlation with cross sectional design. Data were collected from 70 respondents who were determined based on total sampling technique. The results showed the majority of mothers had high BSE (92.9%), and most mothers breastfed exclusively (97.1%). There is a relationship between the level of breastfeeding self-efficacy with the success of exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.004., CI 95%). Based on the results of this study, it is concluded that there is a relationship between the level of breastfeeding self-efficacy with the success of exclusive breastfeeding in breastfeeding mothers of toddlers 6-24 months in Bunijaya Village, Cianjur. It is hoped that this research can be developed by raising other variables besides breastfeeding self-efficacy with the success of exclusive breastfeeding

Abstract

Based on Riskesdas 2018, the prevalence of depression in Indonesia among individuals aged 15 and above reached 6.1%, with 2% originating from the Gen Z group (ages 15–24). This indicates the potential for psychological crises such as the Quarter life crisis (QLC). QLC commonly occurs between the ages of 18–30, especially among university students. Anxiety about the future, academic pressure, career uncertainty, and high social expectations contribute to the stress that leads to QLC. One intervention that can be provided is expressive writing therapy combined with self efficacy or self belief. This study aims to determine the effect of expressive writing therapy combined with self efficacy on QLC scores. The theoretical concepts underpinning this research include QLC, expressive writing therapy, and self efficacy. The method used is quantitative pre-experimental with a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 48 university students selected through simple random sampling. The intervention was conducted over four days within one week. Data were analyzed using a dependent t-test. The quarter life crisis instrument used in this study. The results showed a significant decrease in QLC scores from 4.4385 to 3.4427, with a reduction difference of 0.99583. The p-value was 0.000 (ρ < 0.05), indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. This research demonstrates that expressive writing therapy combined with self-efficacy is effective in reducing Quarter life crisis scores among university students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges and strategies of waste management by the Makassar City Government. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews with cleaners, Environmental Service staff, waste bank managers, and residents, and documentation of related policies. This study was conducted in several sub-districts in Makassar City that are the focus of waste management, such as Panakkukang, Tamalate, and Manggala. The results of the study indicate that waste management in Makassar City still faces various challenges, including low public awareness in sorting waste, limited transportation fleets and personnel, and the capacity of the Antang Final Disposal Site (TPA) which is almost full. In addition, community participation in programs such as waste banks and TPS 3R is still low. In terms of policy, although Regional Regulations have been issued, weak supervision and law enforcement are the main obstacles. However, the Makassar City Government has implemented various strategies such as involving technology through the "Makassar Recover" application, education programs in schools, and partnerships with the private sector through CSR. This study explains the need to increase institutional capacity, continuous education, and strengthen synergy between the government, community, and private sector to create an effective and sustainable waste management system in Makassar City.

Abstract

Background: Home Visit is one of the healthcare programs at Puskesmas Kemang, serving as a supporting activity for counseling and guidance to obtain data, information, and commitment in resolving patients’ health problems through home visits. Interviews with cadres and nurses revealed that the implementation of Home Visit is still carried out manually, resulting in services that are less efficient and slower. Considering the increasing demand for patient-centered care and the limited use of health information technology at the Puskesmas, an information system is needed to accelerate and streamline the service process with accurate data output. This study aims to design a prototype of a web-based Home Visit information system at Puskesmas Kemang, Bogor Regency. Methods: The study applied the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with a Waterfall model. Data were collected through interviews and direct observation.  Results: The current Home Visit service is still performed manually without a standardized Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), causing delays and unstructured workflows in registration, examination, and documentation. The designed prototype aligns with service needs and provides a more systematic workflow. Conclusion: The absence of SOPs in the Home Visit program has reduced service efficiency. The proposed web-based information system proves effective in accelerating registration, simplifying visit documentation, and improving the organization of patient records. Thus, this system is expected to enhance the quality of health services at Puskesmas Kemang by supporting the transition from manual processes to standardized electronic systems.

Abstract

Background: Cervical cancer remains one of the leading causes of death among women worldwide, despite being largely preventable through early detection methods such as Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (IVA). However, the participation rate of women of childbearing age in IVA screening remains low, particularly in rural areas. Health education using audio-visual media has the potential to enhance knowledge, stimulate interest, and promote preventive health behaviors. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of audio-visual-based education on IVA screening in improving knowledge, interest, and behavior among women of childbearing age in Gereba Village, Cipaku District, Ciamis Regency. Methods: This quasi-experimental study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design. A purposive sampling technique was used to recruit 81 women of childbearing age. Data were collected through structured questionnaires measuring knowledge, interest, and behavior related to IVA screening before and after the educational intervention. Statistical analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate non-parametric tests, specifically the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results: The majority of participants were aged 15–44 years (88.9%), had a low level of education (60.5% did not complete high school), and were predominantly housewives (97.5%). The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test indicated a statistically significant increase in knowledge (p = 0.000), interest (p = 0.000), and behavior (p = 0.034) following the audio-visual educational intervention. Conclusion: The study demonstrates that audio-visual education significantly improves knowledge, interest, and preventive behavior regarding IVA screening among women of childbearing age. These findings support the integration of innovative media-based education in public health strategies to enhance cervical cancer prevention efforts in rural communities

Abstract

Labor pain during the active phase of the first stage of labor is often intense and can lead to maternal exhaustion, stress, and prolonged delivery if not effectively managed. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of pelvic rocking with gymball compared to breathing relaxation techniques in reducing labor pain intensity among mothers at Gandrungmangu II Health Center, Cilacap Regency. A quasi-experimental design with a two-group pretest-posttest method was employed. Forty laboring mothers were selected using purposive sampling and divided equally into two intervention groups. Pain intensity was measured using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) before and after the intervention. The pelvic rocking group performed exercises on a gymball, while the control group practiced breathing relaxation during contractions. The results showed a significant decrease in mean pain scores in both groups, with a more substantial reduction in the gymball group (from 8.30 to 3.10) compared to the breathing group (from 8.05 to 6.80). The p-value obtained was 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between the two methods. This study concludes that pelvic rocking with gymball is a more effective non-pharmacological technique for managing labor pain. It is recommended to integrate this method into standard intrapartum care in primary health facilities, supported by structured training and implementation protocols. Further research should explore its impact on labor duration, maternal satisfaction, and neonatal outcomes to enhance maternal health services.

Abstract

Hyperemesis gravidarum is a severe complication in early pregnancy marked by excessive nausea and vomiting, often leading to dehydration, weight loss, and reduced maternal quality of life. Despite being frequently underestimated, this condition requires timely and effective management. One non-pharmacological intervention that has gained attention is acupressure at the PC6 (Nei Guan) point. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of PC6 acupressure in reducing the frequency and intensity of hyperemesis gravidarum among first-trimester pregnant women. A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design without a control group was conducted on 20 respondents at the Rahmawati Midwifery Clinic, Pangkalpinang. Participants performed acupressure therapy for five minutes, three times daily for seven consecutive days. Data on nausea intensity and vomiting frequency were collected before and after the intervention using a standardized scale and logbook. Results showed a significant decrease in nausea and vomiting symptoms, with the average score dropping from 8 (range 7–9) before therapy to 3 (range 2–4) after therapy. Statistical analysis using paired t-test yielded a p-value of 0.000, indicating a highly significant difference. These findings suggest that PC6 acupressure is an effective, simple, and low-cost complementary therapy for managing hyperemesis gravidarum in antenatal care services, particularly at the community level.
