Abstract

The most common injuries in futsal games are lower limb injuries. Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries that occur in futsal players are when the player is running suddenly stopped then rotates in a direction that causes the knee to be pulled and twisted. The tear of ACL that more than 60% or total tears can cause knee joint instability. Patient must undergo surgery to replace the rupture ligament to prevent instability in the knee joint. Squat exercise will affect the increase in muscle strength, proprioceptive function, and functional ability of the knee joint and pain relief modality with Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. The research method used was a case study in a patient with a post-reconstruction ACL rupture condition three weeks after surgery. From the results of basic motion examinations and functional examinations and patient complaints the problem in framework of impairment were knee flexion pain, decreased range of motion (ROM). Then, in functional limitation, the patient was complaining impaired walking. Then, in the framework of participation restriction, patients cannot work as radiographers, doing futsal as a hobby and praying. Patient with post-reconstruction ACL rupture condition showed that there was decreased ROM, active and passive motion pain, decreased muscle strength and decreased functional ability. The closed kinetic chain exercise approach with squat exercise and the addition of TENS can provide good results in the results of increased LGS, reduction of motion pain and increased functional ability. Keywords: Physiotherapy, Exercise Therapy, ACL Rupture, TENS

Abstract

Background: Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease that often worries people and this disease can cause death. According to WHO data (2014), Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever was first reported in Southeast Asia in 1954, namely in the Philippines, then spread to various countries. The purpose of this study is to be able to overcome the fulfillment of fluid needs in DHF patients. Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever is an infectious disease causedby the dengue virus and belongs to the Arbovirus (arthropod-borne virus) group which is transmitted through the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquito vectors and spreads very quickly. This research method is descriptive in the case study design covering the stages os assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation and evaluation. The results of the study on 2 DHF patients obtained that the problem of fluid fulfillment was resolved by full monitoring of intake and output. It is hoped that the results of this study can be used as material for further research for researchers who will conduct research on fluid volume deficiency in Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever patients. Based on the research conducted, both respondents experiencedfluid fulfillment from those who initially experienced a shortage to become fulfilled.Keyword: Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever, Fulfillment of Fluid Needs

Abstract

Background: Ischialgia is a debilitating condition in which the patient experiences pain and paresthesias in the distribution of the sciatic nerve or associated lumbosacral nerve roots. Ischialgia is pain as a direct result of sciatic nerve pathology. The sciatic nerve innervates direct motor function in the hamstring muscles, the adductor of the lower extremity, and indirect motor function in the calf muscles, forelimb muscles, and some intrinsic muscles of the foot. Ischialgia often occurs when this multifunctional nerve is compressed in the lumbar region, usually due to herniation of the disc from the spine. Methods: The design of this study is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental research design with a pre and post test approach. This quasi-experimental study was intended to describe changes in pain reduction. Sampling was carried out by the total sampling method, namely the entire population obtained was used as a research sample of 21 patients suffering from ischialgia. The research instrument used by the researcher is the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) with a value of 0-10. Results: The normality test used is Saphiro Wilk and statistical test using Wilcoxon with p = 0.000 (p <0.05) then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted and concluded that there is an effect of giving Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and Mc. Kenzi Exercisercise to reduce pain in patients with Ischialgia. Conclusion: based on the analysis, it is known that there are differences in the effect of pretest and posttest giving Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and Mc. Kenzi Exercisercise to reduce pain in patients with Ischialgia. Keywords: TENS, Mc. Kenzi Exercisercise, Pain, Ischialgia
