Abstract

Ankle sprains are injuries that occur due to overstretching and hypermobility or trauma to the lateral complex ligaments, by sudden inversion and plantar flexion forces during exercise, physical activity, when the foot is not fully supported on the floor or ground, causing ligaments are stretched beyond their normal physiological and functional length. Stretching causes tears in the lateral complex ligaments, this will cause pain when contracted. The pain causes immobilization resulting in a decrease in muscle strength and limitation of motion (Calatayud, 2014). Balance Exercise is designed to increase the neuromuscular efficiency of the entire body movement system. This exercise involves dynamic eccentric and cocentric movements of the foot balance. The movements performed require dynamic control in the middle of the range of motion, with isometric stabilization at the end of the movement (Clark, 2014). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of balance exercise on the dynamic balance of athletes after ankle sprains in BFC (Futsal Big Family FC) players with 20 male athletes with ankle sprains grades 2 and 1, aged 15-19 years. This research method uses one group only pre test - post test with purposive sampling technique. Results Based on the test, it is found that the hypothesis test above is known to be 0.000 where the lift is smaller than so it can be concluded that there is an influence between pre and post exercise on improving balance. Conclusion Thus, it is hoped that futsal players who suffer from ankle sprains can improve dynamic balance with balance exercises. Keywords: Balance Exercise, Dynamic Balance, Sprain Ankle

Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative disease that attacks the joints, especially the knee joint. The cause is the cartilage or cartilage that serves to protect the joints begins to break down and joints occur between the ends of the constituent bones. The effects of osteoarthritis are pain, edema, decreased Range of Motion (ROM) resulting in a decrease in the patient's functional activity. In this study using the case report method with the respondent a housewife (Mrs. E) aged 64 years with knee osteoarthritis dextra. Respondents without crepitus in the knee joint, joint stiffness for less than 30 minutes, tenderness at the edge of the bone, limited movement, and edema around the knee. Patient therapy schedule at the hospital 2 times a week. Provide physiotherapy interventions in the form of Lymphatic Breathing Exercise, Instrument Assisted Lymphatic Drainage (IASTM), exercise therapy (Quadricpes isometric contraction exercise and Hold Relax). Measurements were made to measure edema using a metline, measured by the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), knee ROM as measured by a goniometer, and functional activity using Western Ontario and Mcmaster University (WOMAC). Measurements were made at each therapy session. After physiotherapy intervention was performed 7 times, the results obtained were a decrease in pain and a decrease in disability scores in Ny. Abstract

Meniscus tear is the second most common knee injury that occurs in athletes with a prevalence of 12% to 14% and an incidence of 61 cases per 100,000 people. Arthroscopic Partial Meniscectomy (APM) is the most common orthopedic surgical procedure for treating meniscus tears worldwide. According to a recent survey, approximately 500,00 Arthroscopic Partial Meniscectomy (APM) is performed annually in the United States. Surgery is considered the gold standard in the management of meniscus tears. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the physiotherapy program in the form of Cryotherapy, TENS, NMES, ROM exercise, and Strengthening exercise on the functional improvement of post Arthroscopic Partial Meniscectomy patients. Keywords: Meniscus tear, Arthroscopic Partial Meniscectomy, Cryotherapy, Electrical stimulation, Exercise therapy.

Abstract

Abstract - Pain is experienced by many women during childbirth. Various attempts have been made to reduce pain both pharmacological and non-pharmacologically. One of the non-pharmacological methods is physical therapy using a ball or often called a Birth Ball. The benefit is to provide experience for both health workers and maternity mothers so that they can apply the Birth Ball method as a way to reduce pain so as to improve the quality of normal delivery. The study aimed to determine the effect of Birth Ball on reducing pain before and before being given treatment to mothers at BPM Sunarti in 2022.This study was a pre-experiment with one group pretest posttest design. It was conducted in August 2022. The research sample was 10 primigravidainpartu maternal using purposive sampling. The pain scale was measured using the Bourbanis scale, the results of which were recorded directly on the observation sheet. The statistical test used was Wilcoxon with value = <.05.The results showed the value of Sig = .005 which means α = <.05, it was found that there was an effect of Birth Ball on Reducing Pain Scale in Maternity Mothers during the Active Phase 1 at BPM Sunarti in 2020.The conclusion showed an effect of the Birth Ball on reducing pain in active mothers found in BPM Sunarti 2020. It is recommended to midwives who work at BPM Sunarti to consider the Birth Ball method as a way to reduce labor pain in normal delivery mothers. Keywords: Birth Ball, Pain Reduction, Scale
