Abstract

Emesis gravidarum is a common complaint experienced by pregnant women in the first trimester, characterized by nausea and vomiting that can disrupt daily activities and risk reducing nutritional intake. According to data from the Melintang Community Health Center (Puskesmas), there has been a significant increase in cases of emesis gravidarum from year to year, reaching 123 cases in the first trimester of 2025. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ginger oil aromatherapy on reducing emesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the first trimester. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. A sample of 95 pregnant women in the first trimester experiencing emesis gravidarum was selected using a purposive sampling technique. The intervention, which included ginger oil aromatherapy, was administered for four consecutive days every morning. Emesis levels were measured using the PUQE-24 questionnaire before and after the intervention. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores, with a p-value <0.05. It can be concluded that ginger oil aromatherapy is effective in reducing the frequency and intensity of emesis gravidarum. This study recommends ginger oil aromatherapy as a safe and easy-to-implement complementary therapy for pregnant women with mild to moderate nausea and vomiting in the first trimester. Abstract

Low Birth Weight (LBW), defined as a baby weighing less than 2,500 grams, is a determinant factor in most neonatal deaths. LBW is a public health problem, both short-term and long-term, and remains a major cause of perinatal morbidity and mortality. LBW usually occurs in preterm infants, also known as LBW. This study was conducted using a cross-sectional survey and the Chi-Square test, with univariate and bivariate analyses. Probability sampling was used. The population in this study was low birth weight infants. The sample size was 94 infants. Data analysis used the Chi-Square test with a 95% confidence interval. The results of this study revealed a significant association between maternal age (P-value = 0.000), parity (P-value = 0.009), and pregnancy spacing (P-value = 0.017) and the incidence of low birth weight. This study recommends that hospitals provide education or counseling on factors related to the incidence of low birth weight. Keywords: Maternal age, Parity, Pregnancy spacing.

Abstract

Technology is one of the factors influencing adolescent premarital sexual behavior. Technology makes it easier for adolescents to obtain information about sexuality through various sources. Rapid technological developments in recent years have encouraged the emergence of various innovative health promotion media for adolescent reproductive health based on applications. This media provides opportunities for students to learn independently to improve their understanding of reproductive health. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of digital health posts (poskestren) in preventing premarital sexual behavior in adolescents. The research design used a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre- and post-test design. This study was conducted from May to June 2025 at MAN 4 Bantul. The subjects were 142 first- and second-grade students residing in Islamic boarding schools. This study used a purposive sampling technique in selecting respondents. Data analysis began with a normality test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, which showed that the data had a normal distribution. Next, statistical testing was carried out using a paired t-test. The study results showed significant behavioral differences in students following a four-week intervention using digital health education posts (Posketren). There was a significant difference between levels of reproductive health knowledge before and after the health education intervention using digital health education posts. This demonstrates that digital health education posts are significantly effective in preventing premarital sexual behavior in adolescents.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major public health problem in Indonesia, with stress being a significant contributing factor. Respondent characteristics such as age, gender, occupation, and education level have the potential to influence the relationship between stress and the incidence of hypertension, particularly in rural areas such as the Petaling Community Health Center in Bangka Regency. To analyze the relationship between respondent characteristics and stress levels on the incidence of hypertension in the working area of the Petaling Community Health Center, Bangka Regency in 2025. This study used a cross-sectional design conducted at the Petaling Community Health Center in Bangka Regency from October 2025 to November 2025. A total of 73 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The inclusion criteria for respondents were aged 26-65 years and above, having hypertension, being a community member who sought treatment at the health center, and living in the working area of the Petaling Health Center, Bangka Regency. The instrument used was DASS. The analysis used in this study was the chi-square test and Fisher's exact test. Stress levels (p-value = 0.004) had a significant relationship with the incidence of hypertension. However, age (p-value = 0.331), gender (p-value = 0.246), education level (p-value = 0.570), and occupation (p-value = 0.926) were not significantly related to the incidence of hypertension. Conclusion: Of the five variables studied, there was one variable that was related, namely stress levels. The community has become more aware of the importance of health and conducts regular health checks to control high blood pressure. Keywords: Hypertension, Stress Level, Gender, Education, Occupation

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition in which systolic blood pressure rises to ? 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure rises to ? 90 mmHg, as determined by at least two measurements taken five minutes apart while at rest. This study aims to analyze the relationship between sleep quality and anxiety in hypertensive patients at the Gerunggang Community Health Center in 2025. This study used a quantitative method with a correlational design and a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of all hypertensive patients who visited and sought treatment at the Gerunggang Community Health Center in Pangkalpinang in July 2025, totaling 260 people, with a sample of 80 respondents selected using random sampling techniques. The research instruments were a sleep quality questionnaire (PSQI) and a GAD7 anxiety questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test and the Pearson correlation test. The results showed a significant correlation between sleep quality and the incidence of hypertension with a p-value of 0.000. In addition, there was a significant correlation between anxiety and the incidence of hypertension with a p-value of 0.031. The direction of the correlation indicates that the poorer the sleep quality, the higher the anxiety level tends to be. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant correlation between sleep quality and anxiety in hypertensive patients at the Gerunggang Community Health Center in 2025. It is hoped that health workers can improve education about healthy sleep patterns and anxiety management as part of efforts to control hypertension in primary health care services.
