Abstract

The development of information on social media is very rapid, one of the content that is of concern to netizens is religious content on social media X on the @Munir_Timur account uploading Pastor Gilbert's lecture that offends Muslim worship. The content went viral and became a public conversation. This study aims to explore how communication ethics are applied by netizens in the context of digital da'wah, using a qualitative approach and content analysis. Data were taken from comments on the account uploads, focusing on indicators of courtesy, effectiveness, efficiency, and mutual respect. The results show that (1) most netizens do not pay attention to good manners in their comments, using blasphemy, innuendo, and cursing, especially against content that is considered offensive to certain religions; (2) although they tend to be negative, some comments still meet the effective and efficient aspects of conveying messages; (3) there are netizens who prioritize mutual respect and open-mindedness, which reflects the potential of digital da'wah in encouraging more constructive dialogue. This research highlights the importance of media literacy and strengthening communication ethics in the context of digital da'wah, in order to create a more inclusive and dignified religious discussion space on social media.

Abstract

This research focuses on Hindu and Islamic communities in Linggo Asri Village, Indonesia, using case study methods and communication sociology and anthropological approaches. Through observations, interviews and documentation studies, research shows that a house is not just a physical place to live but reflects cultural substance. Religious symbols, such as prayer houses and prayer rooms, are not only places of worship but also means of communication between religious believers. The Linggo Asri community understands differences in beliefs and finds common ground in gratitude for diversity. Analysis of religious practices, such as Pedhayangan and Slametan, shows that the essence of these practices is universal even though there are differences in terminology and rites. Research highlights the importance of pluralism and tolerance in Linggo Asri, where religious differences become an enriching force and strengthen relations between religious believers. This article contributes to the understanding of religious diversity and religious symbols in Indonesian society. These religious practices and symbols reflect beliefs and are the basis for social harmony and tolerance between religious believers. Understanding and respect for religious differences is the key to creating an inclusive and peaceful society in rich diversity.

Abstract

The Qur'an was revealed as a rahmatan lil alamin (mercy to all creations) and a guide for harmonious living. Muslims believe it to be a holy scripture revealed to Prophet Muhammad to establish peace and harmony. However, in the modern era, this ideal often contrasts with reality, as seen in the case of differing determinations of the 1444 AH Eid al-Fitr celebration, which sparked social conflict. This study aims to analyze the role of the Qur'an as an instrument of harmonization from the perspective of religious moderation. The research employs a qualitative case study approach, focusing on the conflict in Bantul, Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis involves reduction, presentation, and verification. The findings indicate a decline in values such as tolerance, empathy, and harmony among Muslims, driven by social jealousy and a lack of understanding of religious moderation. As a solution, this study recommends that the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) support research aligned with the Ministry of Religious Affairs' policies on religious moderation and emphasizes the importance of implementing these values to shape Muslims as ummatan wasatan (a middle and just nation).

Abstract

This study examines the geopolitical dynamics in the Arab region, focusing on factors such as regional conflicts, foreign intervention, leadership changes, and control over energy resources. Conflicts like the Syrian war, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and tensions in the Persian Gulf significantly shape regional stability. Foreign intervention, whether military or political, often escalates tensions, while leadership transitions and energy resource control, particularly oil, influence regional and global policies. These developments, widely disseminated through digital media, can impact the psychological state of Indonesian society, particularly when propaganda and biased narratives dominate media coverage. This study employs a case study approach combined with content analysis from digital media platforms and anxiety level measurements using psychological instruments such as the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), and Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A). Findings reveal that media narratives significantly influence public perception, often amplifying collective anxiety and shaping opinions on geopolitical issues. Digital platforms play a key role in intensifying these effects by merging traditional and modern media channels. The study underscores the importance of media literacy education and public awareness programs to foster critical thinking and resilience against propaganda. These findings provide valuable insights into the intersection of media narratives, public psychology, and geopolitical events, offering recommendations for mitigating their societal impact
