Abstract

Computers have become “arteries” in our lives. All fields both directly and indirectly are always related to computers and in the current era of globalization, computers are no longer an foreign thing for us but are an indispensable need in everyday life. ECatalog is one of the information systems which can provide consistent information because in addition to getting information also provides a expertise system because from the basic idea is to transfer a expertise from someone to be implemented in a program. Deficiency is an appearance characterized by plants due to lack of nutrients. In addition to knowing the lack of nutrients, the most fatal can also cause death by plants that experience it. E-Palm oil deficiency catalog makes it easy for users to find symptoms or abnormalities in oil palm plants so that it is easy to make decisions. Keyword : oil palm, precision, nutrition

Abstract

Eggplant is one of holticulture most widely used as edible fruit and also as vegetable. Furthermore, eggplants have delicious taste, the price per kg is relatively cheap and high levels of nutrition such as protein, carbohydrate, and vitamins. The aims of the research were to determine the effect of residue of 5 ameliorants on growth and yield of eggplant growth on peat soil. The five residu of ameliorants used as lime of dolomites, ash of coconute fibre, ash of bivalve shell, ash of empty bunch of palm oil and ash of sawmill waste. Design of experimental was used Random Complate Block Design with 5 treatments and 5 replication per block and 3 eggplant as samples. Parameters of research were leaves areas (cm2), root volume (ml), shoot dry weight (g), number of fruits per eggplant (fruits), weight of fruits per eggplant (g), length of fruits per eggplant (cm), fruit diameter per eggplant (cm). The result indicated that residue of dolomites (7,99 tons/ha equal to 2,5 kg/ block), showed that the residue effect were the lowest and residue ash of sawmill waste indicate the best effect on character of leaves area, weight of fruits, fruits diameter and number of fruits per eggplant. Abstract

The oil palm gives the highest yields per hectare of all oil crops at present. The high and increasing yields of the oil palm have led to a rapidly expanding world industry, now based in the tropical areas of Asia, Africa and America. The switch to the D x P or T hybrid planting material can increase productivity per unit area. However controlled pollination of oil palms is difficult and prone to various sources of error. Illegitimacy is a silent factor that has a negative impact on controlled crossing in the oil palm. Illegitimacy can happen in any stage of the controlled crosses in the oil palm, from the initial stage of selecting and labeling parents, to the initial stage in field trial. The use of molecular markers improves the integrity of breeding programs in perennial crops such as oil palm. In plant breeding programmes, it is important to know the parentage of families and individuals for a variety of reasons. SSR analysis can be used for correct parentage assignment in progeny trials of oil palm. Paternity analysis of 83 half sibs progenies from 5 female parents and one male parent with 16 SSR markers detected all individual that clearly belong to the family they were assigned. Abstract

The research aims to determine the diversity and the dominance of the weeds in mineral land and peat then compare the weeds diversity between both. The research was conducted in Pelalawan District, Riau, from April to May 2018. The research was conducted by a descriptive method. The sample was taken using a square plot measuring 0,9 x 0,9 meter with 10 until 15 replications. The plot sample was taken on a path in mineral land and peatland. The result shows that the diversity of the weeds was higher in mineral land (12 species) than in peatland (6 species). None of the species in mineral land and peatland are dominant species. Broadleaf weeds and fern species are a dominant weed type of both lands. Perennial weeds species is a dominant weed type of both lands. The weeds community of mineral land and peatland shows the different compositions based on the similarity index (IS Sorensen) caused by the different environment condition. Abstract

The main problem of sandy soils is low water holding capacity, resulting an occurance of water deficit. To overcome the problem, application of empty fruit bunch (EFB) is important. EFB application increases growth and development of fruit set and productivity, which causes an increase of palm oil absorbing ability to nutrients. Therefore, increasing potential effectivity of fertilizer in sandy soil is needed. Applying of EFB 79 to 268 kg.plant-1 .year-1 combine with inorganic fertilizer 2.8 to 6.0 kg.plant-1 .year-1 increased productivity simultaneously in years. Results showed that fertilizer application was more effective when applied under the heap of EFB, particularly in sandy soils. Abstract

Oil palm production is very dependent on the climatic condition and physical characteristic of the environment where the oil palm is grown. Its yield potential is declining when the oil palm experienced stressful conditions. Hence, monitoring oil palm production is important to predict oil palm production level. A study in Sungai Dua Oil Palm Plantation locations in Riau Province, Indonesia was conducted, on using Web GIS for managing the database of the production from year 2013-2017. Data of planting year, area of block, and oil palm production recorded. The ultimate aim of this research is in these areas was to evaluate the oil palm productivity in each block. This information will be utilized by managers and the decision makers in the plantation to take necessary and immediate action for the improvement of plantation productivity. Also, It is important to understand the differences of crop yield among blocks to to ensure production consistency. Abstract

Embryogenic callus produced from somatic cells has a significant role in clonal propagation and oil palm breeding (assembly of superior varieties) through tissue culture techniques. Induction and development of embryogenic callus were determined by media composition, vitamins, amino acids, and growth regulators (hormones). This study aimed to determine the role of natural and synthetic hormone which supplemented in MS medium to induce embryogenic callus of oil palm. The research was conducted in laboratory of plant tissue culture, Stiper Agriculture Institute, Yogyakarta from February to May 2019. The explants were inoculated in solid MS medium with three treatments, namely MS medium (Murashige and Skoog), MS + synthetic hormone (2,4-Diclorophenoxyacetate), and MS + natural hormone (young coconut water). The results showed synthetic hormone (2,4-Diclorophenoxyacetate) which supplemented in MS medium can induce embryogenic callus of oil palm explants. However, natural hormone (coconut water) has not been able to induce embryogenic callus. Keywords: Callus induction, oil palm, 2,4-D, coconut water

Abstract

The aimed of this study was to determine the growth of oil palm seedlings at pre nursery in the nutrition modification and various types of media on hydroponic systems. The research was conducted at the education and research garden of the Stiper Agricultural Institute Yogyakarta, Maguwoharjo Village, Depok District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region in March to June 2016. The study used a split plot design. Main plot is a modification of nutrition consisting of three levels, namely nutrition A (15 g gandasil, 15 g hyponex, 0.78 g ZA, 7.5 g dolomite), nutrition B (15 g gandasil, 15 g hyponex, 1.17 g ZA, 11.25 g dolomite), and nutrition C (15 g gandasil, 15 g hyponex, 1.56 g ZA, 15 g dolomite). While the sub plot is a planting medium consisting of three types, namely rockwool, husk charcoal, and cocopeat. Observation data were analyzed by variance. To find out the significan difference between treatments is done by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significan level. The results of the analysis showed that nutrient modification had an effect on the number of leaves and leaf area, nutrients B and C were better than nutrition A, however, nutrition A, nutrition B, and nutrition C had the same effect on the growth of pre-nursery of oil palm with hydroponic systems. Various types of planting media influence the growth of pre-nursery oil palm seedlings, best on rockwool media. Keyword : oil palm, hydroponic, nutrition modification, planting media.
