Abstract

This research discusses the rice crisis on the island of Java from 1918 to 1921. The aim of this research is to explain how rice distribution in society, the perceived impacts, and the policies set by the colonial government of the Dutch East Indies during the rice crisis on the island of Java from 1918 to 1921. This research uses historical research methods, economic approaches, and the theory of people's economics by Hatta. The rice crisis on the island of Java from 1918 to 1921 occurred due to several factors including the aftermath of World War I, obstacles in the Export-Import routes, and natural conditions that disrupted rice management. This led to an increase in rice prices and an imbalance in distribution, impacting the economic and social conditions of Javanese society, including increased criminal activities such as theft and smuggling practices, as well as poverty spreading in the community. The Dutch East Indies government took policy measures to address the rice crisis, including rice stock limitations, rice export bans, rice imports, alternative food for the people, and rice price regulations. These policies, however, proved to be detrimental to the people as they were made solely for the welfare of the government.

Abstract

.This research aims to examine the history and urgency of the establishment of Bank Muamalat Indonesia in 1991 as a reflection of the rise of sharia finance in Indonesia. The method used in this research is a historical method with a social science approach that uses social accommodation theory. In this research it was found that the process of establishing Bank Muamalat Indonesia involved many parties such as the Government, the Indonesian Ulema Council, the Association of Indonesian Muslim Scholars, as well as Muslim entrepreneurs. There are obstacles in realizing the idea of establishing the first sharia banking in Indonesia, such as differences in political views, seeking initial capital, and the legal basis that is not yet available. In the end, these obstacles could be overcome by adjusting political views, then looking for investors, and issuing various monetary policies that supported the establishment of sharia banks in Indonesia, so that in 1991 the first sharia banking was established in Indonesia, namely Bank Muamalat Indonesia. The results of this research are that the establishment of Bank Muamalat Indonesia has a very important urgency and influence in developing social, economic and cultural aspects in Indonesia according to sharia.

Abstract

The research discusses the emergence of social effects following the application of colonial policy on agrarian restructuring and the end of the system of the king's apporary division of the palace in surakarta 1912-1924. The study is a historical study, with sociological approach and socio-economic change theories. The impact of the agrarian reorganization, especially surakarta region, is in keeping with the shift in land policy systems and the application of land rental systems. As a result, people have no definite economic income and reduced land rights. Land taken over by the colonial government and leased to private entrepreneurs resulted in the losing of traditional policies of civility and subjugation. Numerous plantations were set up by private entrepreneurs using laborers from indigenous communities. Although previous land tax hikes (farmers tax collectors, village security overseers, land and labor providers) were lost as a result of the application of land restructuring, the public responded very strongly as a result of this policy. This restructuring changed the disproportionate pattern of land ownership, since all land in surakarta returned to communal or village ownership. The mounting effect was that public expression of the cost and anxiety incurred by the application of a new land management system. The expression is in the form of rebellion, begal, petty or petty as a protest against the various economic difficulties that society is experiencing
