Abstract

ABSTRACTSatua Bali has a huge influence in shaping children's character, so that children can have characters that are firmly rooted in culture. Character building is done by listening to folk tales which become local wisdom in the form of satua. The activity of appreciating satua is closely related to the exercise of sharpening feelings, reasoning, and imagination, as well as sensitivity to society, culture, and the environment. Children are expected to be able to enjoy, appreciate, understand, and take advantage of literary works in general and satua in particular to develop their personality, broaden their horizons of life, and increase their knowledge and language skills. In attitude and behavior, human character puts forward mental or moral qualities and focuses on how to apply good values, in the form of actions or behavior. Satua can be useful as a means of character education and as a successor to the values and spirit of local wisdom to preserve the sustainability of the story itself. Abstract

Oral tradition According to Hoed (2008: 184) is a variety of knowledge and customs that have been passed down from generation to generation orally. Hoed's affirmation has a close relationship with the definition of oral tradition conveyed by Albert Lord, both of which focus on the hereditary process of using orality as the medium. Lord defines oral tradition as something that is spoken in society. The speaker does not write down what he says but speaks it, and the recipient does not read it, but hears (1995: 1). One of the forms of the oral tradition is the traditional games of majaran-jaranan and makering endut in Banyuning Singaraja Village. It contains four meanings as a medium for character formation including a) meaning related to religious elements; b) meaning related to human beings; c) meaning related to the service of the State / love for the country; d) meaning related to human personality. This study is qualitative approach with ethnographic methods was used to express and understand the learning of the values contained in the traditional games of majaran-jaranan and makering endut.Keyword: Traditional game, Character Education, Oral Traditon

Abstract

Siwa Nataraja as the core of character education is applied directly or indirectly, by giving an important role in building character values. Siwa Nataraja as a sacred figure as the core of character education also serves to instill a spiritual sense of religion, especially Hinduism. The continuity of the learning process with the quantity of material provided and the professionalism of the educators in conveying the meaning and content of the artistic values contained in the narrative of Siwa Nataraja. Siwa Nataraja is an effort to find truth, purity, harmony, through art (satyam, siwam, sundaram). Abstract

A cultural inheritance must have certain goals and purposes related to its existence. Same with Bali island which is very rich in traditional and cultural heritage. One of the cultural traditions of Balinese people is the culture of lontar writing. Lontar is a note written on palm leaf which is the origin of its naming (rontal). Lontar contains various notes about Balinese culture, in the lontar all forms of information and knowledge that are set forth as notes to be learned and applied in the future by the next generation of Balinese people. From various types of lontar in Bali, the usadalontar is a note included in the traditional health science clump, which consists of various types including usada tumbal, usada punggung tiwas, usada tiwang, usada edan, usada buduh, usada tetenger, usada upas, usada sasah bebai, usada taru pramana and so on. From various types of usadalontars certainly have their techniques and methods controlled in an effort to cure the patient. Lontarusada taru pramana is one of the cultural heritage of Balinese people. As a medical script, of course in the life of the ancestors of the Balinese people, this script was very important in healing people who were sick. lontar taru pramana is a type of medical science that relies on herbal methods which contain notes on various types of herbal medicinal plants and their functions in medicine. Beside of environmentally friendly and at the same time maintaining the balance of the ecosystem of traditional medicinal plants, of course there will not be many side effects for human health in the future. Therefore, it is very necessary to reintroduce traditional medicine to the community, especially to the Balinese people today, who seem to have almost forgotten their ancestral cultural heritage.The lontar taru pramana manuscript consists of the building blocks of the structure itself. The elements that make up the structure in lontar taru premana are characters or characterizations, incidents, plot, themes, and messages. The main character in the lontar taru premana script is Mpu Kuturan because this character is very instrumental in building the story, and always appears in every conversation. The auxiliary or secondary characters in the story contained in the lontar taru pramana text are all plants that are invited to have a dialogue with Mpu Kuturan. The incident in the lontar taru premana manuscript was when Mpu Kuturan lost his ability to care for the sick. The plot that appears in the lontar taru premana script is an interruptedly, where the story in the script develops not only in the main character, namely Empu Kuturan but there are tree figures who help the storyline. The theme in the lontar taru premana script is taru premana, which is the title of the script. Because what is discussed in the lontar premana is about various types of plants in the treatment of an appropriate disease in social life in society. The mandate contained in the lontar taru premana manuscript consists of an implicit and explicit mandate. Implicitly, the message conveyed in the lontar taru premana is that all problems must have a solution. While in explicitly shown by plants which introduce themselves and their functions in medicine.The functions of the taru pramana text among others are for treatment, preserving the environment, welfare for the community, and for religion. The function of medicine is very clear from the contents of the taru pramana text which describes the use of each plant as a medicinal plant. The function of manuscripts in environmental reports can be seen from the impact of the knowledge of traditional medicinal plants. The function in community welfare can be seen from the market for herbal medicines which is able to compete with conventional medicines. In connection with religious functions, it can be seen from the contents of the text of the lontar taru pramana which in the treatment procedure contains prayers or worship to certain gods which are regulated by Balinese Hindus.Reviewed from of the pedagogical aspect, lontar taru premana greatly contributed the effort to introduce traditional medicinal plants to the next generation of Bali. So that for Balinese people, lontar taru premana has a pedagogical meaning in the education of Balinese children in an effort to recognize and apply plants in traditional Balinese medicine. Traditional health can be interpreted as a reference in guiding children to achieve their certain goals.Keywords: Lontar taru premana, Balinese Local Genius, Etnopedagogy.

Abstract

Language is a means of communication which is able to use communicate with other people around us. By language, human is able to express something which appear in their heart and thought. Language is a sound symbol system that is used by a society to cooperate, interact, self identification and express the content of thought.Many problems can be found in the society about balinese language. Starting from writing of balinese script till the writing of word or sentence of balinese language. For example, many names of public places which are writen by balinese language are still incorrect. As well in writing of word and sentence by using balinese language in communicatingor chating, for example the word “sing”, “dija”, “apa”, many balinese people make a mistake in writing those words in chatting by writing “seng”, “dije”, “ape”As a speaker of balinese language, balinese people cannot ignore these problems wich occured in the society related to balinese language. These problems must become our attention because if we ignore them, it will become a time bomb which harm the happiness of balinese language.The extension agent is expected to become a savior of balinese language. Continuity and be able to solve the problem that occured in the society especially related to balinese language. Abstract

AbstractThis ethnomathematics exploration research was aimed at determining the mathematical concepts in the momongan (dice) games and the implementation in the mathematics learning. This qualitative research used an ethnographic approach using human instruments. The research data obtained through observation activities, ethnographic records, interviews and implementation notes with a dealer and two players and 21 students in grade VIII of SMP Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja who act as research subjects. The research result shows that in the game can be obtained the application of number operations, social arithmetic, probability, and jargon in counting number. Keywords: ethnomathematics, momongan, integer operations, social arithmetic, probability.

Abstract

Balinese literature is a literary work that was born and developed in Bali. Balinese literary works as a description of the life and culture of the Balinese people. This study aims to explore the depiction of teacher figures in literary works in order to find out events related to the comparison of teacher roles contained in the Tresnané Leket Ring Danu Batur novel and the Bukit Buung Bukit Mentik novel. The type of data used in this study is qualitative data using three theories, namely the theory of structuralism, comparative literary theory and theory of meaning. The results of this study are (1) Tresnané Leket Ring Danu Batur novel and Bukit Buung Bukit Mentik novel consisting of a narrative structure which includes: incident, plot, setting, character / characterization, theme, mandate. (2) The comparison of teacher figures in literary works in the form of novels is based on the role of teachers such as teachers as designers, as movers, as motivators, and as evaluators. In the depictions of teachers in these two novels, there are several similarities and differences (3) The meaning of the teacher in these two novels such as morality, education, and sincerity. Keywords: Comparison, Role of Teacher, Novel

Abstract

Respect in speaking Balinese will create an antipathy attitude towards Balinese. Therefore, the Balinese language (especially a form of respect) must be managed properly so as not to create an antipathic attitude towards Balinese, especially by future generations. It is important to make an agreement and understanding of the Balinese people themselves in order to maintain the great Balinese culture! All of this can work well if formal educational institutions want to improve, want to review Balinese language teaching materials from kindergarten to tertiary levels. In making teaching materials, it is appropriate to adopt elements of regional culture and modern culture in a balanced manner. Thus, in terms of maintenance (local elements) and development (modern elements) there will be a balance so that the Balinese language is able to survive and is in demand by its speakers. Abstract

This research examines the Satua (story) of I Glijah. This elder tells the story of a people who come into conflict with a king who likes to oppress the people. The people succeeded in killing the king in various ways. Finally the people were appointed to be the new king. This study uses Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis theory. This research will look at the form of treason, and its context. As a result, this story depicted a hidden form of treason with the king. This story context is a form of protest against closed social stratification.Key words: story, text, context

Abstract

The development of children's behavior is influenced by intellectual development and reasoning. Children have not been able to optimally apply abstract principles concerning right and wrong, as well as other moral and social orders. Therefore, training is needed for them on how to behave morally in certain contexts. Cultivation of morals in childhood with a variety of moral behavior is accepted and supported. Such planting is precisely done through stories. Stories are very effective in influencing the way children think and behave because they enjoy listening to stories even though they are read repeatedly. Repetition, children's imagination, and the value of the closeness of the teacher or parent make stories effective in influencing their thinking.            This study aims to determine the effect of the storytelling method on the behavior of group B children in Kindergarten Widya Shanti Kumara.  The data collection methods used in this research were observation, interview and documentary. The method of observation that is carried out directly makes observations which include all activities of focusing attention on an object by using all the senses or by using other aids. Interview method, which is to get information by asking the respondent directly. The documentary method is a method used to find data on matters in the form of notes, magazines, newspapers, and other books. The results of data analysis resulted in the effect of the storytelling method on the behavior of group B children in Kindergarten Widya Shanti Kumara. Keywords: Storytelling Method, Child Behavior
