Abstract

Nowadays, various studies on ethnopedadogies or education in local wisdom are often carried out, the results of which are used to improve the character possessed by students. The cultivation of this character value is relatively more felt because it is based on an existing local wisdom, and occurs in the community. One form of tradition that contains the value of character education is the ngaasin tradition carried out by Pakraman Bukih Village, Belancan Village, Kintamani, Bangli. As one of the traditions that is still carried out and carried out by the community, precisely every last night before the panyineban event, of course it contains character education values that can be utilized in improving the quality of education today. To solve problems and examine the value of character education contained in this tradition, two theories are used, namely semiotic theory and ethnopedagogy. Meanwhile, the method used in this study is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis (qualitative descriptive). Character education contained in the ngaasin tradition carried out by Pakraman Bukih Village, namely: a) awareness of Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa/God Almighty (Spritual), b) fostering social attitudes, c) fostering a sense of togetherness and unity, d) create a sense of independence, e) improve discipline, and f) teach a sense of justice from an early age. Keywords: ngaasin, character education, ethnopedagogy

Abstract

The use of Balinese language is currently not entirely pure, where its use is mixed with other languages or referred to as code switching or code mixing to facilitate understanding. Usually, speaking in local language (Balinese) is mixed with elements of foreign languages. The opposite can also occur in regional language (Balinese) mixed with foreign language elements. In educated people, it is often that the local language (Balinese) is mixed with elements of Indonesian and English and vice versa, all of these things will contribute to a mutually supporting vocabulary. Based on the background above, there are three problems, namely: (1) What is the process of foreign language adaptation in Balinese?, (2) What is the form of foreign language adaptation in Balinese, and (3) What is the impact of foreign language adaptation in Balinese language? In order to exist as a language of communication, Balinese language cannot only grow and rely on its vocabulary. Therefore, the Balinese language also adapts many foreign languages used in communication following the current developments in globalization. Adaptation of foreign languages in Balinese can be seen from the existence of several processes (Protesis, Epentesis, Paragogue, Afaraesis, Syncope, Apathope, Metathesis, Dissimilation, Assimilation, and Contractions), adaptations in the form of words and those used in sentences, and some impacts caused (positive and negative impacts). Indispensable awareness of the speakers to participate in the preservation of the Balinese language is highly required. Although the Balinese language requires adaptation of foreign languages to develop Balinese language in communicating in this global era, but the term of Balinese language that does exist, must be prioritized in the development of new terms. Keywords: Local languages, Foreign Languages, Foreign language adaptations in Balinese

Abstract

The effectiveness of online learning has led to various speculations among the public, especially in Bali. One of them is the decline in the quality of the material delivered by teachers to students. However, academics answer parents's concerns through innovative learning media to ensure the existence of education in Bali. In particular in the Balinese language subject, there are several efforts made by academics including Balinese language conservation activists, one of which is the creation of creative content as a medium of learning. Various transformations present the latest innovations in order to reduce the abstraction of students' understanding of Balinese language material which in fact requires special guidance in its delivery. The works that have been uploaded via social media or mobile applications. Contains various interpretations of meaning based on the visual semiotic paradigm. The visualization process is collaborated between regional knowledge and technology so that it represents the cultural values contained in it, including the tradition of the tumpek wariga ceremony, the formation of student characterization through depictions of puppet figures, and moral ethical values in communication.Visual semiotics describes the basic concept of one of the previous semiotics experts, namely Charles Sanders Pierce, by focusing on the typological relation of signs between Iconicity, Index and Symbol, so as to be able to produce a sign production system. In addition, in the process of interpreting the meaning of words contained in the learning media, they are analyzed according to the six language functions of Roman Jakobson. Keywords ; Creative Content, Learning Media, Visual Semiotics.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSatua Bali has a huge influence in shaping children's character, so that children can have characters that are firmly rooted in culture. Character building is done by listening to folk tales which become local wisdom in the form of satua. The activity of appreciating satua is closely related to the exercise of sharpening feelings, reasoning, and imagination, as well as sensitivity to society, culture, and the environment. Children are expected to be able to enjoy, appreciate, understand, and take advantage of literary works in general and satua in particular to develop their personality, broaden their horizons of life, and increase their knowledge and language skills. In attitude and behavior, human character puts forward mental or moral qualities and focuses on how to apply good values, in the form of actions or behavior. Satua can be useful as a means of character education and as a successor to the values and spirit of local wisdom to preserve the sustainability of the story itself. Abstract

The Balinese script, which is a big tradition of the Balinese language, provides a unique and extraordinary attraction for Balinese cultural life. It should be proud that the Balinese language is one of the local languages of 668 local languages in Indonesia and only a small part has a script system. The existence of Balinese script is increasingly guaranteed by the policy of the Bali Provincial Government which issued Pergub Number 80 of 2018 which protects the use of Balinese language, script, and literature as well as the implementation of the Balinese Language Month every February. This resulted in the Balinese script being able to enter the wider public realm. All public information should be followed by writing Balinese script, whether it is government agencies, private sector, customary domains, holy places, business entities, and individual information. Individual information that is often used is the name. Thus, the name is important to be copied into Balinese script. The ability to write names using Balinese script basically needs to be mastered by every Balinese. Because, from elementary school to high school, the basics of Balinese script must have been given, especially about writing names. The ability to write names into Balinese script is also a form of public concern for the existence of Balinese script in the midst of life. Although some people are able to write their names into Balinese script, it turns out that there is still confusion and ambiguity that arises so that it becomes an obstacle to the community's ability. The confusion also arises due to the view of the freedom of writing individually which is felt to add to the ambiguity. In order to be able to write names into Balinese script correctly, there are several things that should be noted so that there is no confusion and error considering that Balinese script itself also has different rules from Latin letters. First, syllable decapitation is a serious concern because Balinese script adheres to a syllabic system. Second, the pronunciation must also be considered because the writing of the Balinese script is adjusted to the pronunciation. And thirdly, pay attention to the use of swalalita script and the rules of pairs of pageh in names derived from Old Javanese/Kawi or Sanskrit. These three things are still a problem when someone wants to copy a name into Balinese script. By paying attention to these three things, it is hoped that the confusion of writing the name will not occur. Keywords ; People's Name, Balinese Script
