Abstract

The effectiveness of online learning has led to various speculations among the public, especially in Bali. One of them is the decline in the quality of the material delivered by teachers to students. However, academics answer parents's concerns through innovative learning media to ensure the existence of education in Bali. In particular in the Balinese language subject, there are several efforts made by academics including Balinese language conservation activists, one of which is the creation of creative content as a medium of learning. Various transformations present the latest innovations in order to reduce the abstraction of students' understanding of Balinese language material which in fact requires special guidance in its delivery.The works that have been uploaded via social media or mobile applications. Contains various interpretations of meaning based on the visual semiotic paradigm. The visualization process is collaborated between regional knowledge and technology so that it represents the cultural values contained in it, including the tradition of the tumpek wariga ceremony, the formation of student characterization through depictions of puppet figures, and moral ethical values in communication.Visual semiotics describes the basic concept of one of the previous semiotics experts, namely Charles Sanders Pierce, by focusing on the typological relation of signs between Iconicity, Index and Symbol, so as to be able to produce a sign production system. In addition, in the process of interpreting the meaning of words contained in the learning media, they are analyzed according to the six language functions of Roman Jakobson.Keywords ; Creative Content, Learning Media, Visual Semiotics.

Abstract

The Balinese script, which is a big tradition of the Balinese language, provides a unique and extraordinary attraction for Balinese cultural life. It should be proud that the Balinese language is one of the local languages of 668 local languages in Indonesia and only a small part has a script system. The existence of Balinese script is increasingly guaranteed by the policy of the Bali Provincial Government which issued Pergub Number 80 of 2018 which protects the use of Balinese language, script, and literature as well as the implementation of the Balinese Language Month every February. This resulted in the Balinese script being able to enter the wider public realm.All public information should be followed by writing Balinese script, whether it is government agencies, private sector, customary domains, holy places, business entities, and individual information. Individual information that is often used is the name. Thus, the name is important to be copied into Balinese script. The ability to write names using Balinese script basically needs to be mastered by every Balinese. Because, from elementary school to high school, the basics of Balinese script must have been given, especially about writing names. The ability to write names into Balinese script is also a form of public concern for the existence of Balinese script in the midst of life. Although some people are able to write their names into Balinese script, it turns out that there is still confusion and ambiguity that arises so that it becomes an obstacle to the community's ability. The confusion also arises due to the view of the freedom of writing individually which is felt to add to the ambiguity.In order to be able to write names into Balinese script correctly, there are several things that should be noted so that there is no confusion and error considering that Balinese script itself also has different rules from Latin letters. First, syllable decapitation is a serious concern because Balinese script adheres to a syllabic system. Second, the pronunciation must also be considered because the writing of the Balinese script is adjusted to the pronunciation. And thirdly, pay attention to the use of swalalita script and the rules of pairs of pageh in names derived from Old Javanese/Kawi or Sanskrit. These three things are still a problem when someone wants to copy a name into Balinese script. By paying attention to these three things, it is hoped that the confusion of writing the name will not occur.Keywords ; People's Name, Balinese Script

Abstract

Education is now a basic need, which is expected to increase a person's life. However, starting in 2020 the world of education experienced a very significant turmoil, this was due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Where initially education was carried out face-to-face/directly, education was carried out in an "Online" network. This has become a separate problem in the world of education, especially when providing character education. The transfer of knowledge is indeed easy to carry out during online learning, but for character education itself, it has its own obstacles. Many efforts have been carried out by educators, one of which is by providing character education through stories or in Bali known as satua, one of which is satua entitled I Karuna which requires the value of character education. The method used in this paper is the hermeneutic method. Where hermeneutics is the study of understanding, especially about understanding in the form of text. The character education values contained in Satua I Karuna are 1) Religious Values, 2) Nationalist Values, 3) Integrity Values, 4) Independent Values, and 5) Mutual Cooperation Values.Keywords: internalization, character education, Satua I Karuna

Abstract

The character of Aji Saka cannot be separated from the forerunner of the Javanese and Balinese script. In various mythologies, the character Aji Saka is a central figure in the birth of the Balinese script. The story of Aji Saka is one of the myths encountered by Balinese people in ancient times and still exists today. Furthermore, the mythology of Aji Saka tells of a prabhu named Aji Saka as the main character, who comes from India (Hindustan). His arrival in the archipelago was not just for creating Javanese and Balinese characters. But in fact, it is a reflection of the influence of Hindu culture from the land of India which finally reached the archipelago. So there is an element of civilization in it. The ideology of Aji Saka, who has the idea of teaching Hinduism to the entire community in Medang Kemulan, Aji Saka's thought is very visionary in building mankind and protecting weak communities. Aji Saka is also reflected as a figure who is smart and able to give confidence to his servants who in the end is able to create the Javanese and Balinese script that we have inherited to this day. In the context of theology, the figure of Aji Saka is related to Indian civilization that entered the archipelago, especially for the Hindu community in Bali, the second is that the philosophy of script wreastra is a way to unite with Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa.

Abstract

This research describes code switching in the Communication of Punakawan figures in Wayang Cenk-Blonk Video Series 26: PNS OH PNS. The analysis focuses on the type of code switching and the background of the causes for the code switching. Methods and techniques in this study were divided into three phases. The stage of providing data used the observation method with the basic technique of tapping which was then followed by the listening proficient technique and the interview method. In the data analysis stage, the intralingual and extralingual equivalents were used with the link-appeal technique to equalize the main things. Presentation of the results of data analysis used informal methods assisted by deductive and inductive techniques. The theory used is sociolinguistic theory. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that there were some code switchings which used in the communication of Wayang Cenk-Blonk Video Series 26: Pns Oh Pns. The results of the analysis shows that there was a phenomenon of inner code switching and the factor causing code switching are the speaker factor, the talking topic factor, and the distraction factor for self-prestige.Keywords: code switching, punakawan figures, Cenk Blonk Puppets

Abstract

The existence of expatriates in a particular country can provide its own colour and nuance for the country itself. In Indonesia, especially in Bali, there are a number of expatriates who stay on vacation, to work or take education. A lot of expatriates who intensively visit or do live in Bali, especially those who are interested in Balinese culture, are able to communicate in Balinese proficiently. To obtain information related to expatriates who are able to communicate in Balinese, interviews were carried out with four samples who are four expatriates who intensively visited or settled in Sanur and Ubud for at least three years. There are several factors which make them interested in learning Balinese language (basa Bali alus and basa Bali kepara). With all the efforts they put in, they are eventually able to pronounce, utter and communicate in Balinese fluently even though their mother tongue accents can still be heard.Keywords: expatriates, communication, Balinese language

Abstract

AbstractGeguritan Dukuh Wanasari is a part of Bali Purwa literature (traditional literature) in the form of narrative poetry. Geguritan Dukuh Wanasari tells about Wayan Cita's friendship. Wayan Cita has three friends. They are I Wayan Satwa, I Made Rajas, and I Ketut Tamas who have different characters. These different characters have an impact on their friendship, especially on I Citas life. This qualitative research uses descriptive methods in explaining the results of the research. The object of the research was taken from the book Geguritan Dukuh Wanasari in 1997. It was transliterated and translated by I Made Sudiarga. The results showed that there three figures in Geguritan Dukuh Wanasari. They are Dukuh Wanasara, I Wayan Cita, I Wayan Satwa, I Made Rajas, and I Ketut Tamas. They have different characters depending on what they have learned and believe. Dukuh Wanasari and I Satwa always learn about self-improvement through literatures and religious belief. On the other hand, I Rajas and I Tamas always try to pursue temporary worldly happiness. I Cita was described as a figurewho is not very persistent and easily influenced. The friendship between I Cita and I Satwa reflects the value of satya Mitra. Their friendship has a good influence on their lives because they can control themselves and practice religious teachings well. However, the friendship of I Cita, I Rajas, and I Tamas reflects a value of mitradohaka that has a bad impact on their future and ends in death.Keywords: friendship, satya mitra, mitradohaka

Abstract

Kekawinas a literary works contain a deep variety of poetic value in every word and sentence. Anauthorchoosesdiction with full of aesthetic and poetic calculations to create a stylistic that makes the reader drift away in his verses. Kekawin Smaradahana by Mpu Dharmaja is an Old Javanese literary work that indulges readers with interpretations of stylistics. The consciousness of worshiping Shiva is represented by the romance of Smara-Ratih which gives birth to puspa hredaya, the highest form of consciousness. This research reveals the existence of stylistics in Kekawin Smaradahana, using Pierce's semiotic theory. Abstract

In general, this research aims to develop the love of Balinese people for Balinese literature. Specifically, this study aims to analyze the intrinsic structure in Novel Biyar - Biyur ring Pasisi Sanur. In this study, it can be concluded that the intrinsic structure analysis of the novel Biyar - Biyur ring Pasisi Sanur is the theme of heroism, with characters including I Wayan Sadia, Luh Renji, Kwee Tek Tjiang. With the characterization of this character, Wayan Sadia is diligent, Luh Renji is right about his promise, Kwee Tek Tjiang is cunning. Abstract

The discourse on women's emancipation essentially refers to two concepts of struggle, is name the physical and psychological struggle between the struggle of the world of reality and the world of ideas and ideas in the form of fiction. The movement to liberate Adam's power over women was marked by the emergence of women's groups or organizations in the west to Indonesia, then through a literary approach, the birth of literary works and even women writers to voice their rights to freedom of expression without any shadow of legitimacy. man.
