Abstract

Hinduism has three basic frameworks, namely tattwa/philosophy, ethics/ethics, and rituals/rituals used by Hindus as a basis for practicing its teachings in daily life. Hindu faith is manifested in the form of ceremonies as a form of devotional worship before Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa. The Magoak-goakan tradition is a very sacred and unique hereditary tradition that is still preserved by the community in Banjar Surakarma, Kintamani Village, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency. The magoak-goakan tradition is held during the Nyepi Desa celebration, which begins with Ngeker Desa. Ngeker Desa is a taboo that must be implemented or obeyed when it will be ahead of Nyepi Village celebrations. The functions contained in the magoak-goakan tradition are togetherness, social functions, cultural preservation functions, and religious functions. The uniqueness and sacredness of the Magoak-goakan tradition, contained socio-religious values so that this tradition is routinely carried out by the community in order to create a harmonious relationship between humans and gods, humans and humans, and humans with the environment called Tri Hita Karana. The theory used by the author to dissect this problem are religious theory, structural functional theory, and value theory. This research uses qualitative research with social, cultural phenomenology approach. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and literature studies sourced from books, journals, and theses. Keywords: fungtion, Magoak-goakan tradition

Abstract

Lontar Gama Tirtha is one of the Balinese literatures which has been inherited until now by Balinese people who believe in the position of water as a means of self-purification. Water has a very important position in the ecological system and is able to form ecosystems in the area of lakes, rivers, rice fields, and springs that are not only useful for daily needs but are also highly purified and functioned spiritually. Lontar Gama Tirtha explains the essence of water as a means of self-purification and a system of knowledge of water that is integrated with human beings. Lontar Gama Tirtha thoroughly explains the two water belief contexts that refer to the physical and spiritual aspects, namely "gama ning" and "gama cemer". The state of clear and cloudy water represents a state of self that is continuously purified from all impurities that are never separated from life. The context of the purification of water does not merely cleanse and purify the physical paradigm, but the strongest emphasis in that context is on the spiritual purification of the body, namely thoughts, words, and deeds. Keywords: Eco-Religious, water, Gama Tirtha

Abstract

The Balinese tradition of meruwat is equated by restoring the state of objects, living things, or human beings. In addition to restore them, it means being free from all dirt, fatigue, or the like. Sometimes pengruwatan is believed to be a definition to get a better life, of course, through rituals that are carried out and believed in. Kalatattwa contains a narration that is narrated from the birth of Bhatara Kala to the gift he received from Lord Shiva. Wayang Sapuh Leger became a manifestation of religious ceremonies (rites) to emphasize the ritual. Palmer's hermeneutic theory is used to interpret the Kalatattwa, which emphasizes the rites of healing and Sapuh Leger.

Abstract

The short story Maling by Komang Adnyana is one of several short stories in the Metek Bintang short story collection. The themes raised in the collection of short stories by Metek Bintang are interesting and unexpected, because it is rare for themes such as transgender, LGBT, and even the theme of selling children to appear in modern Balinese literature. The themes that adorn modern Balinese literature are themes of teenage romance, social criticism, polemics on inter-caste marriages, love of Balinese Caucasians, and others. In this paper, we will examine a short story entitled Maling. The short story of Maling will be analyzed based on Gerard Genette's narrative theory which focuses on narrative order which refers to an attempt to tell an event. The result of this paper is to describe the plot chronologically and logically based on the main function in the short story. Keywords: Short story, Narrative, structure, narratology, modern Balinese literature
