Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) Conducting a research is one of the implementations of Three Pillars of Higher Education that has a crucial role for the development of science, technology, and arts as well as for the improvement of the welfare of society since the research results are directly implemented to the society/community. To spread more significant effect; not only for the society/community but also for more external parties; therefore, Universitas Internasional Batam hold a Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) that is attended by lecturers and students from both domestic and overseas partners to disseminate their research works. Through this conference, the researchers are able to share their knowledge and motivation in the application of sustainable research activities.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Traffic density in the Riau Islands area is increasing day by day. Population density that has exceeded this threshold causes congestion on the road which causes losses to people who are carrying out activities. As e-commerce grows rapidly, it becomes a push for e-commerce applications that develop in line with the community's need for online application-based services that operate on smartphones. The application of online application-based transportation services that are growing rapidly. One of the factors of this online application-based transportation service innovation is the growing number of internet services offered by internet service providers and more and more internet users, so that the internet becomes a necessity and lifestyle for the community. This research is a development of previous research in examining the factors that influence public acceptance of online transportation applications using the UTAUT2 research model; the current study uses the Technology Acceptance Model research model. This questionnaire was distributed to 400 respondents to the residents of the Riau Islands using Amos and SPSS. The results of the analysis of transportation application online acceptance in Riau Kepulauan using Technology Acceptance Model were seen from the construct of behavioral intention use to attitude toward using is 100%, actual system use to behavioral intention to use is 94.7%, perceived usefulness to perceived ease of use is 80.3%, attitude toward using to perceived usefulness is 47.6% whereas behavioral intention use to perceived usefulness is not effected as positive.

Abstract

Komunikasi lisan merupakan komunikasi secara langsung kepada lawan bicara dengan cara mengungkapkan apa yang ada di pikiran dengan kata-kata secara lisan. Sering kali di dalam komunikasi lisan adanya interupsi. Interupsi adalah salah bentuk alih giliran. Banyaknya orang tidak sadar melakukan interupsi di dalam komunikasi lisan. Dengan adanya teknologi dapat mendeteksi interupsi jenis ketumpangtindihan dan dapat menginformasikan jumlah interupsi yang telah dilakukan. Dengan begitu, penelitian ini dibangun dengan metode scrum dan menggunakan bahasa Swift serta didukung dengan PHP. Luaran dari penelitian ini adalah aplikasi iOS yang mampu mendeteksi interupsi komunikasi lisan secara virtual.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh DER, ROA, ROE, EPS, DPR, Firm Size terhadap harga saham di sector pertambangan. Periode yang digunakan adalah dari 2014 sd 2018 dan data tersebut di ambil dari BEI (Bursa Efek Indonesia). Populasi yang digunakan adalah perusahaan sector pertambangan dengan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah teknik purposive sampling di Indonesia. Jumlah perusahaan yang digunakan adalah 47 perusahaan yang semuanya terdaftar pada pencatatan Bursa Efek Indonesia. Analisis ini menggunakan regresi data panel. Dengan menggunakan metode tersebut memiliki tujuan antara lain untuk mengungkapkan hubungan linerar antar variabel dependen satu maupun lebih dari satu variabel independent serta mengetahui kontribusi dari masing masing independent terhadap variabel dependen. Data yang sudah di kumpulkan akan dimasukkan kedalam program SPSS untuk mengalanisa data statistika deskriptif, uji outlier, uji f , uji t dan uji koefisien determinasi. Peneliti juga menggunakan program E – Views untuk melakukan Analisa pengujian chow dan hausman. Tidak digunakan analisis asumsi klasik dikarenakan sifat dari regresi panel data adalah roboust.

Abstract

From a student’s perspective, the essential functions of a higher learning institution (HLI) include providing students with the teaching and learning infrastructures lodgings, assigning experts to sharpen students' theoretical and applied knowledge and critical thinking skills, and offering social, cultural, and athletic activities. However, as public financial support is shared among many HLIs in Tanzania, the HLI needs to increase its monetary fund through tuition collection. Quality services that meet the student’s expectations increase the student’s satisfaction which in turn encourages the enrollment of future students through the spread of positive word of mouth about the HLI. In analysing how the HLIs students have defined service quality dimensions and satisfaction, the researcher collected qualitative data from 15 final-year students from science, social science, and business disciplines. They were analysed using content analysis. The result shows that researchers can use additional items to measure specific service quality dimensions: perceived transparency and trust in an institution on top of the conventional (service quality, (SERVQUAL)) items measured by past researchers. In addition, the researcher identifies two additional service quality dimensions: perceived transparency and trust in an institution. This article explains how researchers can use service quality dimensions pertinent to the study environment to find more systematic to enhance the literature on service quality.

Abstract

Hak cipta merupakan hak yang diberikan kepada orang yang menciptakan suatu karya yang menandakan bahwa ciptaan tersebut resmi menjadi kepemilikannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peluang dan tantangan perlindungan hak cipta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian hukum normatif. Penelitian ini menunjukan, revolusi industri 4.0 saat ini berpengaruh terhadap hak cipta yang tidak hanya menimbulkan peluang namun juga menimbulkan tantangan. Revolusi industri ini memberikan tantangan dalam perlindungan hukum terkait hak cipta seseorang, karena akan banyak orang tidak bertanggungjawab dapat dengan mudah meniru atau menggunakan hak cipta seseorang tanpa izin. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of accountant’s negative attitudes, image of profession, job outcomes and job demands on accounting profession in Batam City. The sampling method uses the Slovin formula. Total respondents were 330 students from 5 universities in Batam City. The data collection method used is questionnaires survey. The result of the questionnaires validity test on 26 questions stated valid. The data used in this study were tested using SPSS version 24. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that all independent variables are significant. Perception of accountant’s negative attitudes have a significant negative effect on accounting profession. Meanwhile, the image of profession, job outcomes and job demands have a significant positive effect on accounting profession.

Abstract

Along with the rapid development of technology, it has changed people’s mindsets and lifestyles, starting from how to interact, learn, shop, to make donations to people who are in need. Donations do not always have to be in form of money, but can also be given in other forms such as clothing, equipment, and food. With the presence of internet technology, donations can be made online, which can be accessed via the web to mobile applications. This study will discuss the design and development of mobile-based applications of useful item donations. This research will use the scrum framework method which has 6 stages such as product backlog, sprint planning, sprint backlog, daily scrum, sprint review, and sprint retrospective. The result of this study is a mobile-based application where anyone can receive and give donations to each other.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of company characteristics on Working Capital Management in companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange. The conduct of this research has high hopes for companies to be aware of the influence of company characteristics on the management of company working capital. This study analyzes the effect of Leverage, Performance, Operating Cash Flow, Firm Size, Firm Age, Growth, and Firm Value on Working Capital Management. The objects chosen in this study are companies listed on the IDX. The sample in this study were companies registered before 2015, which have been audited with a full financial statement from 2015-2019. The sampling method used in this study is the purposive sampling method. Data in accordance with the criteria were processed using Eviews 10. The results showed that cash flow and leverage were significantly positive while company size and growth were significant negative. The company performance, company value, company age showed insignificant results. This shows that the company must pay attention to the characteristics of the company in managing working capital.

Abstract

Depression is one of the most common mental sicknesses occurred currently, a person diagnosed with depression usually has an extreme emotional disturbance caused by great stress and anxiety that can lead the person to become suicidal over time Technology has evolved quite significantly over time, especially in multimedia, multimedia makes things easier and more practical to be delivered such as information and spreading messages to a large community in a short time. Video Games is one of the most popular multimedia categories, it gain a lot of popularity among people especially the younger generation, video games can help people to reduce stress and deal with anxiety to its player. In this research, the author designed a video game using one of the most popular game engines which is Unity with Research and Development method which refers to ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The game was a story-based game about depression and the feeling of being left alone. The output of this research is a short story-based 2D pixel art platformer game that was designed and coded using the Unity game engine. The development of this game is expected to help people deal with depression and help to spread awareness about mental health, especially depression to public people.

Abstract

Informasi merupakan salah satu aspek penting yang tidak lepas dari kehidupan manusia, terutama bagi kalangan manula, yang membutuhkan informasi berbagai aktivitas yang dapat dilakukan dalam mengisi waktu pensiunnya dengan lebih berkualitas. Dengan pendekatan teknologi berbasis web ini, maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan sebuah platform yang mudah diakses bagi manula untuk mendapatkan informasi yang terkait, bisa berupa artikel kesehatan baik dalam tulisan dan video, dan daftar kegiatan sosial manula yang dapat diikuti. Web ini dirancang dengan menggunakan Bahasa pemrograman PHP dan menggunakan metode UX dengan mengikuti pedoman Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) yang menghasilkan tampilan mudah digunakan untuk para manula.
