Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) Conducting a research is one of the implementations of Three Pillars of Higher Education that has a crucial role for the development of science, technology, and arts as well as for the improvement of the welfare of society since the research results are directly implemented to the society/community. To spread more significant effect; not only for the society/community but also for more external parties; therefore, Universitas Internasional Batam hold a Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) that is attended by lecturers and students from both domestic and overseas partners to disseminate their research works. Through this conference, the researchers are able to share their knowledge and motivation in the application of sustainable research activities.

Abstract

Load Balancing merupakan sebuah metode yang digunakan dalam memaksimalkan troughput, traffic dapat dijalankan dengan optimal, diperkecilkan latency dan menghindari overload pada overload pada salah satu jalur koneksi. Dalam uji coba ini menggunakan container Docker Swarm yang menjadi wadah virtualisasi load balancing. Variabel yang digunakan dalam acuan uji coba load balancing ini adalah response time. Hasil setelah pengujian menunjukkan bahwa load balancing yang terdapat pada virtualisasi container docker swarm dapat berjalan dengan baik tanpa gangguan

Abstract

Penelitian pengaruh tata kelola perusahaan dan tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan terhadap kinerja keuangan perusahaan telah banyak dilakukan namun hasilnya berbeda-beda. Ketidaksamaan hasil yang diperoleh oleh penelitian terdahulu mendorong terciptanya penelitian ini dengan menggunakan manajemen laba sebagai variabel mediasi. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 381 perusahaan non-finansial yang terdaftar di BEI dari tahun 2015-2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif kualitas audit, kepemilikan institusional, dan tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan terhadap kinerja keuangan perusahaan. Sedangkan independensi dewan tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja keuangan perusahaan. Tata kelola perusahaan dan tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan juga tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja keuangan perusahaan melalui manajemen laba.

Abstract

The study was conducted to provide a complete and easy-to-use cashier service for MSMEs in Indonesia, because almost eighty percent of basic food stores in Indonesia are still done manually when entering data, causing the resulting data cannot be developed properly, and errors often occur. recording, and searching for data is difficult because every time you look for data, the seller must look for it from the general ledger. There is no special information that informs about the amount of stock of goods so that it is not uncommon when the stock runs out, the new shop owner finds out when the transaction process occurs so that it disappoints customers. With these weaknesses, a web-based cashier application is needed that can facilitate data management once it produces valid data so that it can be used to develop the company in the future. The method used is the waterfall method, in making the application starting from the analysis, design, coding, testing, evaluation, and maintenance stages.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan tata kelola perusahaan terhadap perusahaan yang melakukan penghindaran pajak dengan menggunakan dua proksi yaitu BTD dan ETR.Penerapan tata kelola perusahaan diukur dengan kompensasi eksekutif, karakteristik eksekutif, kualitas audit, komite audit, kepemilikan institusional, dan proporsi komisaris independen.Penelitian ini memilih 154 perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada tahun 2015-2019 sesuai purposive sampling dan diuji dengan metode regresi panel. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa pada proksi BTD, variabel kualitas audit dan kepemilikan institusional berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penghindaran pajak. Sedangkan dengan proksi ETR, hanya variabel karakteristik eksekutif berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penghindaran pajak.

Abstract

In this era of time, information provided to the public regarding Indonesian culture is obtained from social media, website, books or brochures, while the information sources on these media only contain information in the form of picture, text and music. Puzzle game is a type of game that gives information in virtual way and interactive way. In this study, we will design and develop a puzzle game to introduce Indonesia culture using unity 2020.3.16f1. The result is released publicly. Effectiveness of the application need further study to validate.

Abstract

Buku foto merupakan media yang digunakan sebagai salah satu media berbagi produk fotografi dengan nilai dokumentasi yang tinggi. Buku foto dapat mempresentasikan maupun mengkomunikasikan pesan terhadap suatu informasi dari topik yang diangkat. Dalam pembuatan buku foto guna memperkenalkan tempat-tempat nongkrong yang ada pada Kota Batam, penulis menggunakan metode Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) untuk membantu proses pengerjaan penelitian. Hasil dari pengembangan buku foto memiliki respon yang positif dengan memperlihatkan setiap sisi ruangan dan karakteristik dari beberapa tempat nongkrong yang ada pada Kota Batam.

Abstract

This paper investigates the direct impact of corruption to foreign direct investment in BRIC countries, namely Brazil, Russia, India and China, which dates from 1997 to 2019. The estimation method used in this study is Pooled Ordinary Least Square (POLS) method. The estimation of this study reveals that corruption, interest rate and exchange rate have a negative relationship toward foreign direct investment whereas gross domestic product and trade to openness has a positive relationship with foreign direct investment. Moreover, exchange rate and trade to openness is significant to foreign direct investment and corruption, interest rate and gross domestic product is not significant toward foreign direct investment. The insignificant result on corruption to foreign direct investment might hints the researcher where further testing using more advance method is required to obtain accurate and robust result.

Abstract

Pandemic mitigation measures greatly affect our social development now, measures such as wearing masks, maintaining distance, and quarantine have been used to prevent the spread of the virus. As a result of the precautions taken, outdoor stress-relieving activities may become prohibited or impractical due to social distancing measures. People who must stay at home and need a social life must look for other activities to avoid anxiety and stress. Video games have become an excellent alternative to avoid this problem, the ability of people to cope with stress thanks to video games and social interactions through online games has increased the consumption of digital games. The main aims of this study are firstly to analyse changes in players money spending due to quarantine and secondly to investigate any changes in gaming behaviour due to quarantine. To do so, 380 participants were invited to complete an online survey to answer questions regarding video games and quarantine. The results showed that there was an increase in player playtime during the quarantine period, more people brought in their families and friends to play together and there was an increase on players spending money on video games. Correlation between post-pandemic and in-game purchase behaviour should be evaluated in further studies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji strategi bisnis digital terhadap kinerja perusahaan pada UMKM. Data sampel responden yang digunakan adalah 300 responden dengan status sebagai pelaku UMKM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan dan positif antara kemampuan manajerial dan kinerja perusahaan. Namun, tidak ditemukan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan apabila dimoderasi oleh variabel sustainability strategy. Penelitian ini juga tidak meneukan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan pada kapabilitas operasional baik secara langsung maupun moderasi

Abstract

Malaysia is one of the most avid countries in online shopping just behind Indonesia, the largest e-commerce market in ASEAN. In 2020, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation’s (MDEC) expectation to hit 20 per cent growth in e-commerce contribution to the digital economy can be achieved as the COVID-19 pandemic has given a huge boost to digital adoption among entrepreneurs. However, many SMEs do not move fast enough to recognize the changing habits and preferences of their consumers. As a result, they do not evolve their business model to adapt to the changes. The purpose of this paper is to conceptually identify and explain the factors and challenges that affecting digital economy in Malaysia.
