Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) Conducting a research is one of the implementations of Three Pillars of Higher Education that has a crucial role for the development of science, technology, and arts as well as for the improvement of the welfare of society since the research results are directly implemented to the society/community. To spread more significant effect; not only for the society/community but also for more external parties; therefore, Universitas Internasional Batam hold a Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) that is attended by lecturers and students from both domestic and overseas partners to disseminate their research works. Through this conference, the researchers are able to share their knowledge and motivation in the application of sustainable research activities.

Abstract

Media sosial sekarang tidak sebatas sebagai sarana berbagi informasi dan hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai lapangan bisnis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh social media marketing, e-Wom, brand equity dan trust terhadap purchase intention perhiasan internasional yang saat ini banyak diburu karena materialnya yang berharga dan desainnya yang trendi di kota Batam. Data diperoleh dari 300 responden berdomisili Batam sebagai sampel. Metode yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling yang termasuk non-probability sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan semua hipotesis berpengaruh signifikan, sejalan dengan penelitian sebelumnya. Peran tiap variabel dalam penelitian ini pada sebuah perusahaan sangat berpengaruh ke niat membeli konsumen.

Abstract

Batam City is a city that is engaged in industry, therefore many tourists visit. The fast culinary business in Batam City is very developed, because with a strategic location and rich in marine products. Business in the culinary field in Batam City takes various forms, in terms of place and the creativity of the UMKM. So that business competition in the culinary field is increasing, one of which is Street Culinary in Sekupang District, Batam, which is a business engaged in the culinary field. Street Culinary sells a variety of regional cuisine, with a strategic location and affordable prices. This activity aims to increase market share and provide information to the public about Street Culinary in Sekupang District, Batam. The final result of this research is a Photobook to promote the Foodcourt culinary business in Sekupang District, Batam. This photobook design uses Adobe InDesign 2020 Software and uses the Multimedia Development Life Cycle method which consists of 6 stages, namely concept, design, collecting material, assembly, testing, distribution. Therefore, the design and development of the Street Culinary Photobook in Sekupang Batam District is used as a medium of information to introduce its culinary.

Abstract

COVID-19 is a pandemic that can spread through the air or the surface of objects used in public facilities. One of the most vulnerable media in the spread of COVID-19 is the door. The use of conventional door locks and handles can be a source of transmission of COVID-19, considering that many people touch the surface of these objects. Based on this, the authors designed a smart door prototype using RFID as a key substitute. By using RFID, direct door contact can be minimized. In addition, the RFID reader will be connected to the internet, so that access to the door can be monitored via a web page

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian yakni menguji persepsi mahasiswa akuntansi di kota Batam mengenai profesi akuntan dan sejauh mana persepsi mempengaruhi pemilihan karir antara sektor akuntansi publik atau akuntan perusahaan. Penelitian tersebut menggunakan sampel 396 mahasiswa dari berbagai universitas di Kota Batam. Data dianalisis menggunakan program SPSS versi 24. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan sikap negatif akuntan, citra profesi akuntan, hasil pekerjaan akuntan, dan persyaratan pekerjaan akuntan berpengaruh terhadap profesi akuntan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemilihan karir sebagai akuntan publik lebih dominan dibanding akuntan perusahaan.

Abstract

Photography has become one of the technology development form in this digital era. One form of the photography is food photography. Food photography is one of business development that has a high standard of selling by using food as its media object. Food industry has actually experienced a quite significant growth, but everything changed when the world being infected by COVID-19. This phenomenon of pandemic is certainly has a bad impact on the small business sector such as street vendors. In this research, author designed a street food photography using the Research and Development method which refers to the IDI (define, develop, evaluate) instructional model. Street food often defined as ready to eat food that sold by street vendors in public place such as parks, field, and public street sidewalks. This food photography design was created based on data that had been collected by author at street vendors in Batam. Data is obtained from observations, interviews and market research. The output of this research is 27 digital image of street food photography which was edited by using Adobe Lightroom. The development of this street food photography is expected to help street vendors to increase their sales turnover during this post-pandemic COVID-19.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa pengaruh tata kelola perusahaan dan tanggung jawab sosial terhadap penghindaran pajak. Variabel yang digunakan adalah kompensasi eksekutif, kepemilikan institusional, kepemilikan manajerial, komite audit, komite audit kompeten, kualitas audit, dewan komisaris independen, kualitas tanggung jawab sosial dan penghindaran pajak. 165 perusahaan yang terdaftar di BEI periode 2015-2019 dijadikan sebagai sampel dengan total 825 data. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode regresi panel. Variabel kompensasi eksekutif, kepemilikan institusional, kepemilikan manajerial dan kualitas audit berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap effective tax rate. Sedangkan variabel lain seperti komite audit, komite audit kompeten, dewan komisaris independen dan kualitas tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan.

Abstract

In this era of modernization, social media has become a popular platform means of communication and is the choice of the community, social media is also growing rapidly from various classifications and types according to needs. Promotional videos made on YouTube social media are now widely used by companies and governments to promote their products or introduce tourist attractions. The tourism sector has an important and profitable role and has the potential to be developed as an asset that is a source of income for the nation and state. So that video promotion media is considered to be able to fulfil the needs of the wider community in presenting information and conducting promotions that are more interesting and interactive. In making a promotional video that aims to introduce tourist attractions on Karimun Island, the author uses the Media Production Concept (KPM) method which consists of Pre Production, Production, Post Production to assist the video design process and data collection by means of documentation and interviews with visitors and the author uses Adobe Premiere Pro 2020 software in video editing. The results of this study are in the form of a video that summarizes tourist attractions on Karimun Island in the hope of attracting local and foreign people to visit Karimun Island

Abstract

Sebuah infrastruktur jaringan yang baik sangat dibutuhkan bagi perusahaan. Infrastruktur dikatakan baik bila dapat mengatasi ratusan maupun ribuan request dari client dan tidak mengalami down. Pada penelitian Mohamad Rexa, performa web server dalam Docker Swarm meningkatkan availability layanan sebesar 31% percontainer yang ada. Dan juga pada penelitian Imron, Kubernetes Cluster mampu menangani jumlah permintaan client 19 kali lipat dibanding single server. Oleh karena itu penulis merancang infrastruktur dari Docker Swarm dan Kubernetes. Kemudian melakukan performance testing kepada dua infrastruktur tersebut dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan dari performa dua kontainerisasi tersebut. Dari hasil perbandingan, perusahaan maupun instansi dapat memilih infrastruktur jaringan yang cocok sesuai kebutuhan

Abstract

Documentary video have been long used to deliver complex message and knowledge in a more concise and easier to consumed format. This format is dominantly used to convey message to older generation, but due to state of global pandemic, younger generation also consuming documentary video as learning media. Current news about Islam might turn off some people to even trying to understand what Islamic culture is due to islamophobia. This study aims to deliver one of Islamic core culture, ‘halal’, in which can be formed in various sectors of industry. We used the MDLC methodology and motion text technique to develop halal industry in Indonesia documentary video. The result is disseminated using open video sharing platform and already gathering attention from various individuals. We are hoping that we can help reducing islamophobia and also show the potential of halal industry to economics growth in Indonesia, especially to younger generations.

Abstract

Online shopping and delivery services are becoming increasingly popular. The purchase experience of consumers, as well as business processes, have been significantly changed by this phenomenon. Yet, overpackaging issues have caused a major environmental concern when consumers dispose of the packaging after unboxing parcels. A survey of 200 respondents aged above 18 with experience in online shopping was conducted. The study model was developed based on the value co-creation (VCC) theory to investigate consumer preferences towards improvements in online shopping overpackaging. The findings show that implementing packaging material (PM), and environmental concern (EC) have a beneficial impact on consumer preferences. Based on the findings, this paper recommends that online merchants need to be concerned about the packaging material, in view that consumers show their environmental concern to protect the environment. In addition, the government can provide a better recycling system for consumers in relation to the disposal of packaging.
