Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) Conducting a research is one of the implementations of Three Pillars of Higher Education that has a crucial role for the development of science, technology, and arts as well as for the improvement of the welfare of society since the research results are directly implemented to the society/community. To spread more significant effect; not only for the society/community but also for more external parties; therefore, Universitas Internasional Batam hold a Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) that is attended by lecturers and students from both domestic and overseas partners to disseminate their research works. Through this conference, the researchers are able to share their knowledge and motivation in the application of sustainable research activities.

Abstract

River water quality has decreased due to agriculture wastewater discharge. Statistic data in 2021 showed 22.6 thousand of water pollution cases were reported in Malaysia, which is a critical issue to the aquatic plants and animals. Thus, this paper aims to measure removal efficiency of a natural and economically designed bio-filter. The bio-filter was made of coal, coconut fibre, citronella, and clay to treat agricultural wastewater and compared the water quality before and after filtering. Selected parameters (TSS, BOD, COD, and NH3-N) were assessed in the wastewater samples before and after the operation of a bio-filter on a laboratory scale. The result shows that bio-filter success to improve the agriculture wastewater quality. Consequently, we recommend that this bio-filter can be further tested on a larger scale and potentially used in the agriculture wastewater industries.

Abstract

Jaringan wireless adalah sebuah teknologi yang digunakan untuk menerima maupun mengirim di jaringan lokal tanpa menggunakan kabel atau melalui gelombang radio. Kelemahan jaringan wireless adalah orang sekitar bisa melakukan hacking menggunakan tools yang tersedia di internet untuk mendapatkan password atau mengambil data secara ilegal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penetration Testing untuk menganalisis sistem keamanan jaringan WLAN ditempat umum, hotspot, dan kafe. Tujuannya untuk mensimulasikan bentuk serangan jaringan menggunakan tools yang tersedia di kali linux. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa hanya dua dari tiga serangan yang berhasil. Oleh karena itu, harus meningkatkan keamanan pada simulasi yang berhasil dilaksanakan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) Solutions so that the digital payment system can be applied in the wider community (2) Positive survey results to be used as an example in advancing the economic industry (3) What factors can encourage people's intention to use a digital payment system. The form of this research is descriptive qualitative, the source of which is taken from research data that has previously existed on the internet. The research method used in this research is a questionnaire method in which the researcher distributes data containing questions to get answers and information needed by the researcher. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that: (1) Customer satisfaction is one of the impacts for the intention to reuse digital payment systems (2) Trust is also an important element in increasing customer interest in digital payment systems.

Abstract

Cryptocurrency is a revolutionary peer to peer transaction method which utilize Block chain technology to enable frictionless transaction across the globe with relatively low fees. As Block chain technology goes mainstream, several problems had emerged, one of these problems are semiconductor shortage caused by booming popularity of such Cryptocurrency mining. Which cause widespread problems in the whole world, crippling not only technology industries and spilling to other industries such as car industries and electronic industries. In this study, we delved into what causes these problems and how and what will help solve these problems that are occurring in the market, in this research used Case study model for this phenomenon and came into conclusion that cryptocurrency mining will not last long and shortages maybe easing.

Abstract

Sikap istimewa yang dimiliki seorang akuntan publik adalah independensi dalam penampilan dan pemikiran. Namun, sikap independensi akan diragukan jika terikat hubungan jangka panjang dengan klien yang mengakibatkan kurangnya kredibilitas suatu laporan keuangan yang diaudit. Oleh karena itu, perusahaan akan mengganti KAP (Kantor Akuntan Publik). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh karakteristik audit, karakteristik perusahaan, dan audit tenure pada pergantian KAP oleh perusahaan publik di Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan pada 475 perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia berturut-turut tahun 2015-2019. Penelitian ini berhasil menunjukkan variabel kualitas audit dan audit tenure berpengaruh signifikan negatif terhadap pergantian KAP, yang menunjukkan bahwa saat perusahaan telah menggunakan KAP yang bekerjasama dengan big four atau saat perusahaan memiliki hubungan ikatan yang lama dengan KAP maka akan melemahkan keputusan untuk mengganti KAP. Sedangkan untuk variabel pergantian manajemen dan kesulitan keuangan menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan positif terhadap pergantian KAP, yang menunjukkan bahwa saat perusahaan melakukan perubahan pada susunan manajemen atau sedang mengalami kesulitan keuangan maka akan memutuskan untuk mengganti KAP.

Abstract

The current study aims to examine the effect of individuals characteristics and non-financial services on the performance of medium-sized and small enterprises (SMEs) in Libya. In addition, this study investigates the mediating role of government regulations that impact the relationship between individuals’ characteristics and non-financial services. A total 392 enterprises participated in this study. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used in order to examine the causal relationship among the latent variables. The results of the study shows a positive relationship between non-financial services, individuals characteristics, government regulations and SMEs performance. Furthermore, government regulastions had a significant and positive impact on SMEs performance in Libya. On the other hand, the results indecated a insignificant relationship between non-financial services and individuals characteristics influencing SMEs performance. Moreover, the results of the study indicates that government regulations play a mediating role between non-financial services, individuals characterises, and SMEs performance among the employees of SMEs in Libya.

Abstract

Peran perempuan dalam dunia gaming saat ini masih dipandang sebelah mata secara umum. Sejauh ini dunia gaming masih didominasi oleh kaum pria. Pada penelitian ini penulis akan mewawancarai perempuan-perempuan yang terjun atau tekun di dunia gaming khususnya kepada Female Gaming di Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengedukasi bahwa female gamer tidak ada bedanya dengan pria saat bermain game. Penulis akan menggunakan metode penelitian terapan dan hasil luaran berupa video dokumenter yang diharapkan dapat membantu female gamer saat ini. Dengan adanya video dokumenter tersebut, diharapkan dapat memotivasi para perempuan agar lebih percaya diri dalam berkecimpung di dunia gaming.

Abstract

Perilaku keputusan investasi mulai menarik perhatian akademisi secara internasional. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh perilaku keuangan terhadap keputusan investasi. Perilaku keuangan diwakili oleh variabel herding, overconfidence, informasi pasar, risiko persepsi, dan literasi keuangan. Data dikumpulkan dengan penyebaran kuesioner kepada 177 investor individual pada Kota Batam dalam periode November 2018 hingga Februari 2019. Penelitian ini dianalisis dengan metode regresi linear berganda dengan SPSS. Hasil uji menemukan bahwa overconfidence, informasi investasi, dan literasi keuangan berpengaruh signifikan pada keputusan investasi sedangkan variabel yang lain tidak ditemukan berpengaruh terhadap keputusan investasi.

Abstract

One of the technology products in the field of entertainment that is most popular among teenagers today is games. One of the most popular games now is Apex Legends, the goal of this research is to answer what makes this game become so popular compared to other games. The quantitative approach was used to gather information about the population’s condition. By using UTAUT2 Model, it was found that the factors that influence Apex Legends popularity are Effort Expectation, Facilitation Condition, and Habit with Effort Expectation having a significance value of 0,043, and both Facility Condition and Habit having a significance value of 0,000. In conclusion, these findings show that Apex Legends is still very much influenced by social factors rather than the mechanic aspects of video games.

Abstract

Perlindungan hukum merupakan salah satu kewajiban atau tanggung jawab negara termasuk perlindungan hukum atas data pribadi. Perlindungan hukum atas data pribadi dimaksudkan untuk menjamin hak-hak seorang individu agar hak atas privasinya tidak dilanggar. Tetapi dalam prakteknya sangat banyak terjadi pelanggaran hak atas privasi. Berbeda dengan Indonesia, Norwegia memiliki peraturan khusus yang mengatur mengenai perlindungan hukum atas data pribadi. Maka penelitian ini akan memaparkan persamaan dan perbedaan perlindungan hukum atas data pribadi di Negara Indonesia dan Norwegia. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan oleh penulis dalam penelitian ini adalah yuridis normatif dengan menggunakan metode perbandingan hukum. Sehingga jenis data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder yang terdiri atas bahan hukum primer, sekunder dan tersier kemudian data-data yang diperoleh diuraikan dengan metode kualitatif-deskriptif. Persamaan dan perbedaan dalam perlindungan hukum atas data pribadi di Indonesia dan Norwegia, antara lain mengenai prinsip perlindungan data pribadi, Hak-hak pemilik data, sanksi, pihak yang bertanggung jawab, data pribadi spesifik, keamanan, pemberitahuan penerobosan, profiling, pengawas dan transfer data. Aturan hukum perlindungan data pribadi di Norwegia yang dapat diadaptasi oleh Indonesia berupa prinsip dalam perlindungan data pribadi, peraturan transfer data pribadi lintas negara, ketentuan sanksi, ganti rugi dan pertanggungjawaban, otoritas pengawas yang independen.
