Abstract

Abstract

This study explores the use of online loans (pinjol) in West Kalimantan through a survey of 11 respondents. Most users are young women aged 20–25 (72.7%) with monthly incomes between IDR 1–3 million (54.5%). The main reasons for borrowing are for consumptive needs (54.5%) and emergencies (27.3%), with SPayLater being the most used platform (81.8%). Reported negative impacts include debt burdens (36.4%), psychological stress (54.5%), and strained social relationships (36.4%). Although 63.6% claim to read the terms and conditions, risk understanding remains low. Furthermore, 63.6% of respondents would not recommend using online loans except in urgent situations. From the perspective of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, online lending (pinjol) fails to preserve wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl), life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), intellect (ḥifẓ al-‘aql), lineage (ḥifẓ al-nasl), and even religion (ḥifẓ al-dīn), as it involves elements of riba and exploitative practices. These findings highlight the need for stronger regulations, improved financial literacy, and tighter oversight of illegal lending services. However, these findings remain descriptive in nature and cannot be generalized due to the very limited number of respondents.

Abstract

Halal cosmetics have become one of the products attracting the attention of modern consumers due to their halal certification and safety in use. This study specifically examines the factors influencing halal awareness on the purchase intention of halal cosmetics among Generation Z students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Tanjungpura. Data were collected through questionnaires from 45 respondents and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The majority of respondents were female (86.67%) aged 17–23 years. The results show that 85% of respondents paid close attention to halal labels, 80% preferred certified halal products, and 90% felt safer using halal products. Moreover, 75% were willing to purchase halal products even if they were not yet popular, and 70% were willing to buy them despite relatively high prices. These findings confirm that higher halal awareness increases the purchase intention of students toward halal cosmetic products, providing guidance for producers to develop marketing strategies emphasizing halal certification and product safety to attract young consumers.

Abstract

This study examines the practice of teachers' salary payments using a rice field cultivation system at MI Mathlaul Anwar Kertasana from an Islamic law perspective. The research background is the use of waqf land as a source of operational funding, including teacher salaries, where teachers are given the right to cultivate rice fields and take the harvest as their wage (ujrah). This research was conducted using a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data was collected through interviews and literature review, then analyzed descriptively using the principles of ijarah in Islamic jurisprudence. The results show that the practice does not fully meet the pillars and conditions of the ijarah contract, especially concerning the certainty of the wage amount (ujrah), which is dependent on fluctuating harvest yields. This creates an element of uncertainty (gharar) and has the potential for injustice. The study concludes that while the intention is good, the mechanism needs to be improved to align with Sharia principles, particularly regarding clarity, certainty, and fairness in wage determination.
