Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) is a fundamental element of the Indonesian higher education system, designed to establish a connection between students and society with the objective of addressing developmental challenges. This article examines the application of KKN (Community Service Program) by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Universitas Muhammadiyah East Kalimantan, specifically at SMAN 4 Berau. The primary emphasis is on the program's adaptation to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to the government's decision to enforce social distancing measures and restrict migration, adjustments were made to the KKN program in order to ensure its continued efficacy. The decision to proceed with the KKN program, made by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Muhammadiyah University of East Kalimantan, has been accompanied by certain modifications.

Abstract

Spiritual guidance at SMC Samarinda Hospital is a community service initiative aimed at providing spiritual support to patients and their families. This research was chosen due to the importance of supporting holistic health in medical practice. The service method involves the formation of a trained spiritual guidance team that is sensitive to the spiritual needs of patients from various backgrounds. The results indicate that spiritual guidance provides significant emotional and spiritual support to patients and has a positive impact on their healing process. These findings reaffirm the importance of integrating spiritual aspects into modern healthcare. Abstract

Ramadan courses at Samarinda High School is an effort of community service aimed at strengthening spirituality and togetherness during the holy month of Ramadan. In this context, the pesantren activities are not only acts of worship but also means to strengthen Islamic values and social care. This article describes the virtues of the month of Ramadan in Islamic teachings and the implementation of religious activities within the pesantren, such as prayers and fasting, moral development, distribution of iftar meals, collective iftar, religious studies, and religious lectures. Through these activities, the Ramadan Pesantren at Samarinda High School has successfully had positive impacts such as improving the quality of worship, enhancing social relationships, increasing social awareness, and fostering moral development among participants and the surrounding community. Thus, the Ramadan Pesantren at Samarinda High School serves not only as a place of worship but also as a means to strengthen faith, togetherness, and compassion towards others during the blessed month of Ramadan.

Abstract

This research examines efforts in child protection and empowerment of vulnerable groups such as street children, underage children, adolescents, and the elderly in Samarinda City. The method of community service involves identifying needs through surveys and interviews, designing guidance programs based on best practices, conducting guidance sessions, and periodic evaluation. The results show that collaboration between educational institutions and local communities can have a positive and sustainable impact. Challenges include consistency in participation and logistical constraints, but development opportunities such as expanding partnerships and utilizing information technology are also identified. This research emphasizes the importance of child protection efforts and empowerment of vulnerable groups in achieving positive social change in the community

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of psychoreligious therapy in reducing the level of stress among inmates at the Narcotics Prison in Samarinda. This therapy combines psychological approaches with spiritual or religious elements to facilitate the healing process. An experimental research method with a pre-test post-test control group design was used, involving inmates as research subjects. The results show that psychoreligious therapy significantly reduces the level of stress among inmates, as evidenced by lower stress scores in the intervention group compared to the control group. The clinical implications of this research highlight the importance of integrating spiritual aspects in efforts to rehabilitate inmates to reduce stress and improve their well-being.
