Abstract

Old coconut meat is usually used for household needs. Usually used for making coconut milk for combination ingredients for cooking every day by the community. Demand increases with certain needs and moments, approaching Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Based on the results of a field survey to traditional markets located in the Sungailiat area, grated coconut sellers still use coconut grating machines where in the process of grating they still use human hands, even with the help of wood, in 1 hour they can only grate ± 25 coconuts, so the process is finished. slower. At this stage, we conduct a survey and identify problems, determine data needs, data sources will continue with further data collection from observations and research results will be compared to determine product planning to be modified. This design is an illustration before making machine analysis in the form of construction and other components. In designing the machine, it is necessary to know the grating process that will be carried out so that the results used are maximized. In the trial, it was able to grate ± 190 coconuts per hour so that the coconut grater machine looks more optimal in the grating process.

Abstract

The component that is often used in practice is the relay. However, in practice, students often have problems when using relay components due to damaged relays. This happens because there is no tool to detect a damaged relay quickly. To overcome these problems, a microcontroller-based relay tester was made that can quickly check the feasibility of the relay. Which aims to detect a damaged relay quickly. Where the measurement process is by connecting the relay to the available socket, then the output on the relay will be processed by Arduino and the results will be displayed on the LCD and LED. The output on the relay is OK if it's still functioning and Error if it's damaged and the LED is for displaying the test light, if one of the lights goes out, it means the relay is an error, and if there's no damage, the lights will all turn on. From the results of testing more than 10 times testing the tool, it was found that the tool functions well and is accurate. Comparison data was also obtained when testing relays using a relay tester that was made, the time when checking only needed 01.18 seconds for every 1 relay. And for the 10x experiment of relay testing using a relay tester, alternating between 5-foot, 8-foot and 11-foot relays only takes 13.2 seconds.

Abstract

Pantiaw is a typical food originating from Bangka Belitung. The marinade is made from fish and a mixture of other ingredients such as coriander, soy sauce, salt and other flavorings, however, for the process of stirring the pantiaw seasoning, it still uses the manual method. To simplify the process of stirring the pantiaw seasoning, a design for the pantiaw spice mixer was made with a capacity of 10 kg, as well as the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and the machine maintenance system, a research method was needed. The method used is the VDI 2222 method which consists of 4 stages, namely planning, conceptualizing, designing, completing. The results of this design process obtained a variant of concept III with a percentage of the technical aspect assessment of 80% and the percentage of economic assessment of 100%. The results of the calculation of the container capacity of 21 kg using a motor power engine of 1 Hp with 1400 rpm, and using a pulley and V-belt belt type A with a shaft diameter of 32 mm and a v-belt length of 1321 mm. The maximum stress that occurs on the shaft diameter of 25 mm is 5 x 10-1 N/mm2

Abstract

Turning is a metal cutting process that changes the geometry of a material. In this turning process there is a response to be obtained, namely the lowest shaft surface roughness value. Therefore, it is necessary to set the right process variables in order to produce the best roughness value. In this study using the Response Surface Methodology, namely Box-Behnken Design. The purpose of this study was to determine the right combination of levels from the combination of variables in the CNC lathe machining process on VCN 150 material so as to optimize the roughness value. Variables that are thought to have an effect on the surface roughness of VCN 150 material are cutting speed with levels (120 m/minute, 140 m/minute and 160 m/minute), feeding speed with levels (0.14 mm/turn, 0.21 mm/minute). revolutions and 0.28 mm/rev) and depthof cut with levels (0.5 mm, 0.75 mm and 1 mm). The surface roughness value with the lowest value with each variable is the cutting speed of 120 m/min (level 1), the depth of cut is 0.75 mm (level 2), and the feeding speed is 0.28 mm/minute (level 3) the roughness value is 0.468 m.

Abstract

The use of the machine in a relatively long time will result in the ability of the machine to decrease and can cause damage to the machine, to make the machine in good condition, maintenance is necessary. The problem that occurs in the milling machine in the mechanical engineering laboratory of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic is that there is no maintenance procedure, based on these problems, preventive maintenance will be carried out by carrying out inspections, repairs, preparation of maintenance schedules, and job specifications using fishbone method, fishbone method is a causal analysis developed by Dr. Kaoru Ishikawa analyzed the problem and its causes in a fishbone framework. After arranging the schedule, the results were obtained for preventive maintenance with a cycle that was carried out once every 9 months for 13 years.

Abstract

Pineapple fruit is only used for its flesh to be eaten and used for various other forms of food processing. Pineapple skin is thrown away without being used. Traders sell pineapples with the number of pineapples being around 100-120 grains/day. One pineapple produces 0.35 kg of pineapple skin waste, so the pineapple skin waste produced can reach an average of 30-45 kg/day. Pineapple skin waste accumulates and becomes a problem for environmental hygiene. The purpose of this research is to make and build a manual pineapple peel press machine to obtain pineapple peel juice as a raw material for liquid fertilizer. Pineapple skin pulp can be used as animal feed. The stages in the manufacture of this press start from problem identification (field survey, literature study), data collection, design, tool making, assembly, testing, maintenance, conclusion. The capacity of the tool is able to press a maximum of 5 kg of pineapple skin in one process. Experiments were carried out on pineapple skins that were still fresh and which had been stored for 24 hours. Pineapple skin is divided into 2 parts, namely the chopped and non-chopped parts. From pineapple skin that is still fresh and has not been chopped, 1.4 liters of juice are obtained. While the fresh pineapple skin that has been chopped is obtained as much as 1.6 liters of juice. From pineapple skin that has been stored for 24 hours and has not been chopped, 1.5 liters of juice are obtained. While the pineapple skin which was stored for 24 hours and had been chopped obtained 1.7 liters of juice.

Abstract

In the province of the Bangka Belitung islands, many people process quail eggs into various culinary foods. In the process of processing quail eggs must be boiled first until cooked and the peeling process is also still peeled manually or with simple tools, so the peeling process must spend a lot of energy and takes a relatively long time. This study aims to design and manufacture a quail egg shell peeler machine with a 2 screw system mechanism. The research method used is VDI 2222 which stages start with planning, conceptualizing, designing, and completing. The next process is making machine components which are carried out at the Polman Babel workshop then assembling the parts so that they become a machine and then testing and analysis are carried out. Based on the design results, the engine specifications use an electric motor HP 1400 rpm, the transmission system uses a pulley and type A V belt, and the reducer speed is 140 rpm. for the cracking process using a spinner that rotates 70 rpm while the stripping process uses a 2 screw 93 rpm system. Based on the test results obtained on average the machine peeled 16 grains per minute . This quail egg peeler machine has not been able to work optimally because some eggs are crushed and not peeled.

Abstract

Lathe machine is one of machines that used as a medium for the production and learning process at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic. Due to the impact of the time, some lathes experiencing a reduction in both of function and condition,such as the Krisbow BU24 lathe machine which has some troubles such as a gearbox, a longitudinal carriage, coolant system, and emergency button as of needed an recondition action in order to the lathe machine condition is acceptable. In the recondition process there some acts such as machine observation, technician interview, literature studies,and initial testing. Then, did a troubles analysis from the datas, the plan of maintenance that obtaining a maintenance schedule and spare parts procurement. After that, the process of recondition and testing which include a function test, performance test, and geometrical test. After the reconditioning process for the Krisbow BU24 lathe machine is expected to be in an acceptable condition.

Abstract

Coffee is the most popular drink for Indonesian people, both young and old. However, due to their busy schedules, they do not have time to make coffee. Therefore, we need a machine that can make coffee drinks without the need to make it manually. In this manufacture, it is proposed to make this Machine with the aim that the machine can be used as a business medium that can be controlled and monitored via a smartphone. The method of making this IoT-Based Automatic Coffee Beverage Machine uses Arduino Mega as a control system with push button input and an LCD display that will be used as a menu display. Then this machine is also equipped with a DS18B20 temperature sensor as a coffee drink temperature detection, an Ultrasonic sensor as a coffee capacity detector in the glass with the addition of an ordering and monitoring system using a smartphone. Based on the results of the tests carried out, data were obtained by conducting 8 experiments with 4 different doses. In testing the filling of coffee drinks with 4 experiments using the Button and in testing the filling of coffee drinks with 4 experiments using the application. From all the experiments carried out, it was found that the average percentage error of each dose of drink made was 1/4 cup with an error of 0.154%, 1/2 cup with an error of 0.032%, 3/4 cup with an error of 0.032% and 1 cup with an error of 0. 0.0268%. In the experiment of making coffee drinks to be stable starting from a drink temperature of 30º which is then heated with a temperature increase of 3-5ºC every minute and it only takes 6 minutes for the heater to reach the maximum temperature of 70ºC from coffee drinks. After that the heater will turn off and the temperature increase will decrease to 3-1ºC and the temperature of the coffee drink will be stable between 70-80ºC.

Abstract

Power factor is used to determine the quality of electric power. The factor has a parameter of 0-1 where the number 1 can be said to be close to perfect power factor while close to 0 can be said to be less good. power can also be affected by load. With the improvement of the power factor close to 1, the power energy will work optimally. A 3 phase induction motor is an inductive load that requires reactive power. If reactive power cannot be controlled, it will cause low power factor. The study uses a 3 phase slip ring motor as a load, a capacitor bank panel with Arduino mega 2560 control as a power factor improvement, with a value of step 1 = 5 F, step 2 = 10 F and step 3 = 15 F. The power factor of the slip ring motor at a load of 0 Nm before repair is 0.24 with a reactive power of 1106.15 Var. After the capacitor is activated automatically in Step 5, step 1 and 3, the power factor increases to 0.97 with a reactive power of 259.63 Var. The results of the power experiment at 0 Nm load with a power factor improvement of 0.97, the reactive power and current tend to decrease as the power factor value increases, thus making electrical energy more efficient and optimal.
