Abstract

The reuse of coconut shell waste into briquettes is a way to reduce waste in the community and can be one of the livelihoods, because it utilizes coconut shell waste into briquettes which can be done simply, and comes from coconut shell waste that is easily found in the community. Coconut shell waste that is scattered in the community if left unchecked can become a problem, such as: becoming a source of disease and becoming a nest for mosquitoes. This implementation method is carried out in two major stages, namely the design and manufacture of a briquette printing machine from coconut shell waste. The result achieved in this activity is the creation of a briquette printing machine from coconut shell waste with the resulting pellet size of 5 cm x 5 cm x 5 cm. Based on the results and discussion described above, it can be concluded that the working system of the coconut shell briquette printing machine works well and as desired. The suggestion for the development of the next briquette printing machine is to focus on a cutting system that functions as a briquette dough pusher to the required size. This is, with the aim of making it easier for MSMEs and the community in making briquettes from coconut shell waste and being able to increase the productivity of cattle.

Abstract

Vibration in operating machines can cause damage and failure to machine components. However, this damage can be detected and analyzed using predictive maintenance methods, such as vibration monitoring with a single channel data collector. This study aims to analyze the optimal performance indicators in centrifugal pumps using an vibration analysis method where vibration data will be collected on centrifugal pumps with Vib Expert II tools which will be spectrally analyzed to identify dominant frequencies and unusual vibration patterns.  The vibration measurement results are compared with the tolerance limits specified by the ISO 10816-3 standard. The results show that the vibration values at all measurement points are below the tolerance limit. The vibration trend is also stable and does not show any significant changes. Based on the vibration measurement results, it can be concluded that the centrifugal pump is in normal condition. This indicates that the pump is operating properly and there is no damage to the pump components.

Abstract

Oil palm is one of the most important crops in Indonesia's plantation industry. In terms of cultivating oil palm, farmers still rely on manual-based systems, such as watering, fertilizing, and applying pesticides. With this tool, it is expected to increase efficiency in managing watering, fertilizing, and applying pesticides to oil palm seedlings, and farmers can monitor pH levels, soil moisture, and weather conditions in real time on the blynk application. This system consists of several main components, namely ESP-32 as a microcontroller hardware and software component. The sensors used are soil moisture sensor, raindrop sensor, and pH sensor. The soil moisture sensor is used to measure the level of soil moisture around the roots of oil palm seedlings. The rainfall sensor will provide information whether it is raining or not. The pH sensor measures the acidity level. Data from the three sensors will be sent in real-time to the IoT platform, namely the blynk application via a wireless network in the form of WiFi. Based on the research results, it can be seen that this tool can measure soil pH levels with a fairly low average error value of 0.0354%. The soil moisture sensor can also measure the soil moisture level with precision according to the actual data. Tests were carried out with three soil samples and tested three times.

Abstract

Electrical energy is a major necessity in human life today, being the driving force for various activities that are increasing. Renewable energy sources are alternative energy sources available around us, namely sunlight, which can be converted into electrical energy through solar panels. However, because solar panels have non-linear characteristics, causing the output power of solar panels to vary so that a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm is needed. The methods used are the temperature method and the PO (Perturb & Observe) method. The test results when there is an increase in light intensity, it will affect the increase in voltage and current produced by the solar panel output. And vice versa, if there is a decrease in light intensity, there is also a decrease in the voltage and current produced. The intensity of light entering and absorbed by the solar panel will change every time, from duty cucle 0 to 255. The lowest light intensity, 91, does not produce any voltage and current, while the highest light intensity, 238, produces a voltage of 6.06 V and a current of 128 mA.

Abstract

In the fields of industry, education, and daily life, it is not possible to be separated from the work of moving goods. To facilitate the work, a tool such as a robot is needed. A line-follower robot is a type of robot that is programmed to move along a path that has been created through a mobile application. This research designs a robot that combines line-follower technology with mobile application-based mapping, detects objects using ultrasonic sensors, and moves objects based on predetermined coordinates. The test results show that the robot can move objects. This research found that robots can increase operational efficiency while reducing human errors in moving goods.

Abstract

Nowadays the use of motorbikes can no longer be avoided. Helmets are safety equipment that must be used by all groups, especially adults, especially students. Not only adults, but children also know how important it is to use a helmet safely. Helmet loss incidents often occur on every campus due to student negligence. Therefore, it is necessary to create a tool that can control the helmet storage cupboard for students so that they can recognize the locker key automatically via IoT, namely the application. The implementation method in working on this final project is to carry out tests on each helmet locker using an application to reduce the occurrence of helmet loss. The system that has been developed is able to control lockers with an average delay time of around 1.2 seconds.

Abstract

A safe is a place that has been used for years to store valuable items such as important documents, gold, or money. The development of security technology is essential, especially for safeguarding valuable items and important documents in safes. Traditional safes available today are mostly conventional, meaning they still use manual locking mechanisms, which can be easily hacked, making them inefficient. This research shows that a double security system for safes is very effective for securely storing valuable items. With this system, no one except the safe owner can open the safe by guessing the pin, as is possible with conventional safes. This system requires face recognition and a wireless card (RFID) to open the safe.

Abstract

In today's economic system, money is an important medium of exchange and is used as a means of payment for transactions of goods and services as well as debt repayment. Coins are a form of money available in Indonesia in denominations of 100, 200, 500, and 1,000 rupiah. Counting and sorting coins in large quantities can be very tiring and time-consuming. For this reason, it is necessary to conduct research to make a piggy bank as a coin sorter and counter at a more affordable cost, using simple and easily available components. This system will use a TCRT5000 sensor to detect the diameter of the coin to determine its fraction. Sorting is done by directing the coin to the hole corresponding to its diameter. Counting is done with an Arduino Uno, which also controls the display on a 16x2 LCD to show the fractions and total coins detected.

Abstract

Document storage often uses paper or plastic folders that are less secure, so a better security system is needed. This research designed a document security system using RFID sensors and Telegram notifications. The system uses the E-KTP as a tag to open the doorlock solenoid, with the NodeMCU ESP8266 as a means of communication to Telegram. A notification will be sent if there is a forced access attempt. If the E-KTP is compliant, the door will open and the green indicator will light up, if it is not appropriate, access will be denied, the red indicator will light up, and a notification will be sent to Telegram. The results of the study show that the system works well for Internet of Things-based monitoring with a distance of 3cm between RFID Reader and ± card. The Internet Of Things-based monitoring process on Telegram bots equipped with notifications through smartphones is running well.

Abstract

Blinds or curtains serve to provide privacy, protect the room from direct sunlight, and prevent outside views. In addition, curtains can also protect the skin from the risk of hyperpigmentation due to excessive sun exposure. This research system develops an iot-based automatic curtain opening and closing tool, using the bylnk application to monitor and be able to open and close the curtains automatically, with nodemcu esp8266 as a curtain control system and ldr sensor and ic rtc as additional input to monitor the curtains. The results of the development of this tool show that the system is developing and functioning properly to be able to monitor and be able to open and close the curtains through the blynk application contained in the smartphone and automatically through the rtc ic whose time has been determined.
