Abstract

The digital era has significantly transformed how university students access and manage academic information, with social media becoming an increasingly dominant platform. This study aims to examine the relationship between the frequency of social media usage and students’ academic achievement. Adopting a quantitative approach, the research utilized a survey method involving 100 students from various study programs selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire measuring the intensity of social media use (Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, and Facebook) alongside students' Grade Point Average (GPA) as an academic performance indicator. The Pearson correlation test was employed to analyze the relationship between variables. Findings reveal a statistically significant correlation between social media usage and academic achievement, with the strength and direction of the relationship varying depending on the platform and usage intensity. Moderately directed use of social media contributes positively to information access and collaborative learning, while excessive use negatively impacts concentration and academic outcomes. This study underscores the importance of promoting digital literacy and effective time management among students. The results suggest the need for adaptive, technology-integrated learning strategies and institutional policies that support the positive integration of digital platforms into educational practices. These insights offer valuable contributions to the discourse on optimizing digital behavior for academic success in higher education.

Abstract

The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) application plays a crucial role in research activities at universities for analyzing quantitative data. However, the level of students' confidence in operating this software still varies, influenced by factors such as statistical knowledge, practical experience, and learning support. Therefore, this study aims to describe the level of self-efficacy of Tidar University students regarding the use of SPSS and the factors that influence it, in response to the importance of mastering statistical analysis tools in preparing final assignments and scientific research. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collection techniques thru online questionnaires completed by 50 respondents who are students in the Public Administration Study Program at Tidar University. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics thru SPSS. The research results show that the majority of students have a high level of confidence in using SPSS. This increase in confidence is particularly significant when they receive assistance in the form of facilities, training, direct guidance, and adequate time allocation to complete their work. Additionally, prior experience using SPSS or similar software and a basic understanding of statistical concepts also contributed to boosting their confidence. Overall, this research concludes that the level of confidence among Tidar University students regarding the use of SPSS falls into the high category. These findings underscore the urgency of practice-focused training, ongoing mentorship, and the availability of a supportive academic environment in building students' self-efficacy regarding the use of SPSS for study purposes and scientific research activities.

Abstract

Rapid developments in information technology require universities to continuously improve the quality of their digital services to support academic and administrative activities. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit plays an important role in ensuring the availability of efficient, responsive, and needs-oriented technology services for the academic community. User satisfaction levels are influenced by the quality of available facilities and the level of academic services provided. This study aims to evaluate user satisfaction with the services of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit at Tidar University, particularly in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. The method used is descriptive quantitative, involving 50 respondents consisting of lecturers, staff, and students. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire based on SERVQUAL indicators covering five aspects: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The findings of this study indicate that most respondents are satisfied with the quality of services provided by the ICT Unit, especially in terms of tangibles and assurance. However, improvements in responsiveness and empathy are still needed to strengthen the overall quality of services. The reliability index of the measuring instrument (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.946) shows a very good level of internal consistency, which indicates the reliability of the instrument involved. Elements such as the neatness of physical facilities, the professional attitude of staff, and punctuality in providing services are the most significant factors affecting user satisfaction. This study emphasizes the importance of improving the quality of digital services in higher education as part of an information technology-based academic transformation strategy.

Abstract

This study examines the role of public participation in supervising environmental administrative decisions and how administrative courts apply the principle of relative competence in environmental permit disputes. The core issues include the restriction of community legal standing due to regulatory changes, the court’s narrow interpretation requiring actual losses as a prerequisite for standing, and procedural irregularities in issuing or revoking environmental permits. Using a normative juridical research method, this study analyzes the Denpasar Administrative Court’s decision on the Celukan Bawang Environmental Permit case along with relevant environmental law literature. The findings reveal that courts frequently reject public lawsuits by demanding proof of actual losses, preventing substantive issues such as flawed environmental impact assessments and climate-related concerns from being meaningfully assessed. Additionally, the Denpasar Administrative Court’s jurisdiction was affirmed based on the principle of relative competence in environmental permit revocation cases. This study concludes that public participation through administrative lawsuits remains essential for environmental protection and must be strengthened to ensure effective, transparent, and accountable oversight of state administrative decisions

Abstract

Corporate culture plays a critical role in shaping employees’ interactions, behaviors, and work experiences; however, limited research has examined how culture itself can be utilized as a strategic instrument to cultivate an inclusive work climate. This gap persists because most studies position DEI initiatives as the drivers of cultural change rather than viewing culture as the foundation that enables inclusivity. This study aims to analyze the role of corporate culture in creating an inclusive work climate by emphasizing leadership strengthening as a key determinant. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using recent studies on inclusive leadership, organizational culture, DEI implementation, and workplace climate. The analysis involved identifying, selecting, and synthesizing relevant literature to derive an integrated conceptual pattern. The findings indicate that inclusive leadership drives the development of a culture that promotes openness, fairness, and collaboration, which subsequently fosters an inclusive work climate through psychological safety, employee engagement, and perceptions of justice. DEI programs and practices further reinforce this process by providing institutional mechanisms for embedding cultural values. In conclusion, corporate culture can be operationalized as a strategic instrument for building an inclusive work climate, with leadership serving as the primary catalyst for organizational transformation.

Abstract

Culinary tourism has become an important strategy in the development of community-based tourism villages, as it integrates local economic, social, and cultural potentials. Pujon Kidul Village in Malang Regency, East Java, represents a tourism village that has successfully positioned culinary tourism as a core element of rural tourism experiences. This study aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges of culinary tourism development in Pujon Kidul Village and its implications for sustainable rural development. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed in this research. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis involving tourism village managers, culinary business actors, village officials, and local residents. The data were analyzed using qualitative techniques, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that culinary tourism opportunities in Pujon Kidul Village are supported by the availability of local raw materials, strong community participation, village institutional support, and the appeal of rural-based culinary experiences. However, several challenges were also identified, including limited human resource capacity, inconsistent product quality standards, environmental pressures, and competition among tourism destinations. This study highlights that the success of culinary tourism development depends on balanced management between economic opportunities and sustainability challenges. The findings are expected to contribute to academic discussions and serve as a reference for policymakers in developing sustainable, community-based culinary tourism.
